And why did that happen to them on their home floor?

:D:p:D

PS

Tuesday night, about 30 minutes after Florida's 98-66 wipe-out of North Florida it was determined the Gators had tied a Division-I mark held by 3 teams for having 9 different players make at least one 3-point shot in a game.
Dartmouth 1993-94 - Michigan 2008-09
>>> And the dust-bowl Chokers ain't one of them..
-----
~ Only 3 D-1 teams have ever done it, and UF is the only team to have done so twice...
BillyD's 2006-07 2x-NC team, and now Mike White's early 4th season 2018-19 team.

North Florida?? :eek::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

#3 SG/SF Scottie Lewis 6-5 184 ***** - Tinton Falls, N.J. (11/50)

They should make the Big Dance this year.
They might make the Final Four next year.

PG Andrew Nembhard earns SEC Freshman of the Week Honors.
Vs N.FL - 11 Ast's, zero T-O's. How good is this true freshman?
In the last 2 games, Nembhard has 18 Ast's and zero T-O's.
With the 11 assists against North Florida, he became the 8th SEC player and 2nd SEC freshman since 1996-97 to have 11+ assists and zero turnovers in a game. Nembhard is averaging 6.5 Ast's/Gm, along with 7 Pts, and 3 Rbs.

Update:
Season Stats
: Assists 52 -- Turn-overs 11, for a 4.73 to 1 Ratio.
As I expected, the true Fr PG has rapidly improved.
Last 3 games, 24 Assists to 2 TO's for a 12 to 1 Ratio.
Not too bad for a true Fr PG replacing the Cheese... ;)

Note: White's last two starting PG's have both broken their schools Career Assists records.

Preseason question?
They've got the offense, but will the Gators be able to play any defense?

Offensively, the Gators were just good enough vs 'Press WVa'

Defensively, the Gators were outstanding.

WVU came to the arena averaging 86+ points a game and ranked 19th in the country in adjusted offensive efficiency. The Mountaineers left with a season-low tally of points (56), shot just 29.7%, including 7-for-23 from the 3-point line 30.4%, and turned the ball over a season-high 21 times.

The Team's 'individual' offensive bright spot for the night, the only one in double digits.
SG KeVaughn Allen Sr - 19 Pt, 3's 3/7 (42.9%), 4 Rb, 3 Stl, 2 Blk, 3 Ast, 4 TO.

The Freshmen Gator's, 'The 3 Amigos'
SF Keyontae Johnson - 9 Pt, FG's 4/5 (80%), 4 Rb, 4 Stl, 1 TO
SG Noah Locke --------- 8 Pts, 5/6 (83%), 3 Rb, 1 Stl, 1 Ast, 1 TO
PG Andrew Nembhard - 7 Pt, FT 4/6 67%. 4 Rb, 2 Stl, 6 Ast, 2 TO,
Combined Amigos - 24 Pts, 11 Rb, 7 Stl, 7 Ast, 4 TO.

A cold shooting night for the team as a whole, fueled by 'Press WVa,' so they made up for it with and even more smothering defense of their own.

Today at the O'Dome, it's the Gators vs the #10 Ranked Spartans.

Sat. Noon on CBS

"I've always admired their level of discipline and toughness," White said.

MichSt has 21 straight NCAA appearances, 12 Sweet 16s, 9 Elite Eights, 7 Final Fours and one N-C (over BillyD's Gators in 2000, no less) during future HoF Coach Izzo's 24 seasons are pretty solid testaments.

GGGOOOoooooooooooooooGATORS!

We’re more athletic than we’ve been since early Billy D, but we have bad offensive players and White can’t get anyone an open shot. I don’t get why we aren’t pushing pace at every opportunity. We are not going to score in the half court. Izzo is completely pantsing White, getting his guys open shots and mismatches everywhere.

Both WVa and Mich came in averaging around 85 Pt's/Gm.
The Mike White Gators held both to about 25 pts below their scoring average.

Why did they lose 59 - 63 to #10 Mich? The answer is pretty simple. o_O
The Gator's missed OPEN shots all day. It's not Mike's offense that's the problem.

FG's 23 of 63, 36.5% - 3's 6 of 24, 25%, Unguarded FT 7 of 12, 58.3%.

If they had made just 37.5% of their 3's, (9/24) they would have won 68 - 63
If they had made 2 more FT's and one more layup, the would have won 64-63.
If they had made just one more FG, 1 more 3, and one more FT they would have won 65-63

It's not Mike White's offense that's the problem here, it's the players inability to put the ball in the basket.
Maybe they should skip defense in their next practice and just work on getting the ball in the basket..

=====

All of 2017, no 6-11 265 John Egbunu.

All of 2018 so far, no 6-11 254 Gorjok Gak.

Having to use PF's for centers, while true centers watch from the bench, is getting old fast...

And can we borrow a short bus rider's helmet for C.Johnson, at least for practice sessions???

PS

Hey nailed-head, I notice you never comment on this little fact:
Jan. 28, 2017 -- The White-hot Gators handed the Swooners their worst home loss in 95 years... UF 84 - 52 @ OK (-32) :p

Yesterday was indeed a tough day for SEC BB. Lots of unhappy campers on Rupps Rafters since yesterday’s loss to Seton Hall.

What do those guys want. You cycle in 5 new 17-year-olds every year there are going to be some hits and misses. They’re still in the final four every other year, they should relax although I get that that is not UK fan’s strong suit.

I don’t see us making a Final Four anytime soon.

This is completely meaningless.

You could make the final 4 this year. You could go 32-6, like you did 2 years ago and lose in the elite 8. It’s college hoops and you’re relying on 17-year olds.

Cal’s As good as you’re going to get.

Mike White

2018
PG Andrew Nembhard ***** - Already a Fr starter
SG Noah Locke **** - Already a Fr starter
SF Keyontae Johnson **** - A backup that's averaging 17+ Min/Gm.

2019
CG/SF Scottie Lewis ***** (kid looks like a M.Jordan clone on the court)
CG Tre Mnn ***** - (One of the best pure shooters in the nation)
C Omar Payne **** (dunk & block specialist)
Plus a P-Wo SG that shoots 43% from the arc.

Three 5 stars and three 4 stars in his last 2 classes.

There’s a growing realization that Coach Cal may be losing his mojo. Coach K at Puke is eating our lunch at getting the true top-shelf recruits. They really cleaned up last year getting Williamson, Barnett, etc and doing the same again this year (Vernon Carey, etc)

I don’t see us making a Final Four anytime soon.
Cal was and has never been a good gameday coach or an X’s and O’s type of coach. He has to hit on his recruits and he has to hope they mesh.

Hope they mesh? You don’t think he has anything to do with it. Bad game day coach? The guy has won like 80 percent of his games and is in the final four every third year. Like with Meyer at OSU, fans who bitch about Cal are just showing their own ignorance.

Yes average game day coach. Not a very good X’s ans O’s coach. Great recruiter though. He’s only won 1 national title in his entire career and he recruits top 3 classes year after year.

So he just recruited really well at Mass and Memphis?

That's how he got those two teams to Final Fours?

Do you even remember the Memphis vs Kansas game?

Back to the Gators and Mike White. (ph--- UK and Cal/cheat)

Three of Florida’s 4 losses this season have been decided by 7 points or less, meaning a few free throws here,,, — coming into Saturday, the Gators were ranked No. 303 in FT% in NCAA Division I at 63.9%.

If you can't make unguarded free throws at the 'charity' stripe, you're toast.
If the team had made just 1 more layup, 1 more 3, and 1 more FT, they would have knocked off #10 MichSt....
- FG's 23 of 63, 36.5% - 3's 6 of 24, 25%, Unguarded FT 7 of 12, 58.3%.
-----
Adding in Mike's next class, which includes C Omar Payne, will be a much needed leap in offensive output.

While the record may not show it, KenPom's advanced metrics place the Gators at No. 21 in the ratings that take into consideration offensive and defensive efficiency, pace, strength of schedule, etc. Defensively, UF ranks 6th nationally after holding two of the best offenses in the country, West Virginia and Michigan State, to 31 and 24 points below their respective per-game averages.

Three of their 4 losses have been low-scoring slugfests that came down to the last few possessions of the game, losing to Oklahoma by five, Butler by seven and then to #10 Michigan State by four. While his offense has been off a bit, SG Allen's 2.0 steals per game rank 2nd in the SEC.

True Fr Andrew Nembhard has led UF in assists in all 9 games this season and boasts 55 assists to 14 turnovers on the season, a ratio of plus-3.9.

True Fr reserve SF Keyontae Johnson (6.7 ppg, 4.1 rpg) is the team's No. 3 rebounder, despite averaging the seventh-most minutes.

Red Shirt Fr Chase Johnson comes off concussion protocol, backup guard Ballard goes on it and is doubtful for Mercer on Tuesday night.

2014 — Was the last year the Gators lost at least five games before the calendar flipped to January. That was the final season under Billy Donovan and UF lost five of its first 12 games, and was 7-6 at the start of SEC play.

Team looked pitiful again verse Mercer. Team can’t score, can’t make stops, and play with no heart. White looks miserable. After the game White said " the players looked fatigued with heavy legs "Duh I wonder why they are fatigued and heavy legs coach? When is anyone in the local press going to ask tough questions? This team is not headed in the right direction.

Three 20+ win seasons:
He takes a previous 16 win team to the NIT.
Then in just his 2nd year takes the team to the NCAA E-8.
3rd year back to the NCAA again to the round of 32.
And he doesn't even have a full team of his own choosing yet. o_O

I like Mike White but I don’t think he is doing a good job coaching this team. It also bothers me a bit that his brother Danny is a big jerk and whiner.

Hopefully talent from next years recruiting class can overcome Mike White’s coaching ability.

Does it also bother you that his father is Duke's AD? ;)

I agree completely.

All I had to do is totally ignore his record at UF, after taking over a 16 win team, and taking them to the Elite-8 in his 2nd year, while winning at least 20 games every year in his 1st 3 years.

He's obviously a bum no talent coach... - - o_O

Well Jalen Hudson finally had a good game. Hopefully he can build off that and get some confidence going.

7-4 UF 77 - 56 FGCU

CG Jalen Hudson, 14 Pt, (4/9 3s, 44.4%) 6 Rb, 2 Ast, 1 TO, Game MVP, welcome back!
PF/C Kevarrius Hayes 12 Pt (5/5 FG's) 7 Rb, 3 Blk

SF/PF Keyontae Johnson 8 Pt, 5 Rb, 2 Ast, 1 Stl, 0 TO, in 17 Min's off the bench.
SF/PF Keith Stone 8 Pt, 2 Rb, 1 Ast, 1 Blk, 2 Stl, 1 TO
SG KeVaughn Allen 5 Pt, 3 Rb, 1 Blk, 1 Stl, 3 Ast, 0 TO
PG Andrew Nembhard 0 Pt, 4 Ast, 3 TO, 3 PF in his 1st true-Fr 'off' night. (bandaged hand?)

Mike White got a tech-foul for telling the officials about their BIASED foul calls. -1 Pt
I see that as a positive for the team, not a negative. It was 23 - 4 fouls at that point I think...
The refs response was
'tell your guys to stop fouling' (which was bs imoho).
The game ended up with 23 - 16 fouls called, so way to go Mike! :)

Team FG 45%, 3's 11/30 36%, FT 10/14 71.4% -- with 22 TO's for 34 pts on defense.
This is what it looks like when they are playing well at both ends of the court

Next up is 9-3 Butler on Wed the 29th at 4 PM, following the Gators Noon Bowl game.

7-4 UF's Current Bracketology Projections:
UF Makes the Tourney - 56.8%
Most likely Seed #9

After that, win 6 in a row and you're the NC.

Mike has just started his 4th season at UF.
Last two seasons his 6-11 centers (injured) did not and have not played.
He still made the tourney last year with 6-11 265 Eguunu Sr out all season
And Soph Gak 6-11 255 was playing less than 100%, with a sore knee.
Gak Jr had knee surgery immediately at the end of the season and has yet to return from rehab. :(

White has done pretty well the last 2 years, considering that he's having to play 2 6-9 underweight PF's as his center, instead of having his true Big Man centers playing.

In all of NCAA History, there has only ever been 1 school that won both the football and the B-Ball NC's in the same year,,, and it sure as hell ain't the Choke-la-homo Swooners... Guess Who It Is??? :p

Become the 2nd and then I'll be impressed with your Choke-la-homo Swooners...
Heck, do that and I'd even stop calling them Choke-la-homo. ;)

And as I said after UF's loss to your swooners earlier, pray that you don't have to play the Gators at the Big Dance... o_O

PS
Get it done this year, because when Mike's 5th class arrives for his 5th season, all hell is gonna break loose in G'ville!

His last 2 classes: 3 5-stars, 3 4-stars, with a P-WO SG that's 43% from the arc.
PG Andrew Nembhard 6-5 191 Fr ***** - starter
SG Noah Locke 6-3 205 Fr **** - starter
SF Keyontae Johnson 6-5 225 Fr **** - averaging 17+ Min/Gm
-----
CG/SF Scottie Lewis 6-5 185 ***** 14/50 - signed (MJ clone)
CG Tre Mann 6-4 175 ***** 24/50 - signed
C Omar Payne 6-10 225 **** 42/50 - signed
SG Alex Kiatsky 6-3 170 P-WO, 43% from the arc. - signed

Add those 2 classes to the Jr's and Sr's for 2019-20 and it's 'Katie bar the door' time. o_O

Insta alway so happy when we beat mediocre teams. He celebrates them...SEC will be rough for our Gators. Coaching has been average at best. Please Insta post another video below of how Mike White players do so great, oh wait, regress under him. Hudson and Alan are shells of their former self. Mike O is awful...but Insta post another video or star ranking on him and say he’s a great point guard when that’s not even his position. Put it right here below Insta doesn’t know basketball. Loyal fan, but that’s about were his talents have maxed out. Post another video pleaseeee

thryan, you'd better get mommy to help you with your homework, or better yet, hire you a very good tutor...

Mike White took over BillyD's 16 win team, and took them to 20 wins and the NIT his 1st season, then the Elite-8 his 2nd season, then the 32 last year. He's the only coach in UF history to win 20+ games in each of his 1st 3 seasons. o_O
HoF BillyD didn't make an NCAA tourney until his 3rd season.

Now Mike's having to build the team roster back up with his own players and he's doing an excellent job of it. His last two classes, 3 5-stars, 3 4-stars, and a 43% from the arc P-WO SG.

Your PG boyfriend should be glad that someone else wanted him, cause at UF, he wouldn't be the starting PG. o_O

2017-18
PG Chris Chiozza -- All SEC 1st Team and SEC Player of the Year.
Just like Mike's previous PG at LaT did, Chris set UF's Career Ast's total record.
Credit to BillyD for recruiting the 'cheese,' but he spent 3 years with Mike coaching him.

PG Andrew Nembhard 6-5 191 Fr ***** 19/Top 50
He leads the team in Min/Gm. He's shooting 42.9% from the Arc.
He has 66 Ast's to just 21 TO's, with 15 Stl's.

As to your constant ragging on Okauru, there's this:
PG Mike Okauru 6-3 184 So
From his official Gator Bio:
Point guard
who showed tremendous growth over the course of his freshman season, playing 10+ minutes in 10 of the Gators’ last 12 games of the season. Shot .404 from 3-Pt. Rated a four-star prospect by ESPN. Ranked the No. 8 player out of the state of North Carolina. Great size and athleticism with play-making ability.

2017-18, Freshman Season -- Regular part of the Gators’ rotation in a deep and talented backcourt, and made his first career start with 13 Pts in the win vs. #12 Auburn. He followed with a 15-point outing vs. Stanford at the PK80. Posted a 14-point effort in 14 minutes vs. Georgia, giving him 3 straight games with at least 8 points scored. Entered Florida with the reputation of a high-motor defensive specialist, but proved his capability as a scorer as well. :p

2019 signed guard recruits:

CG/SF Scottie Lewis 6-4 175 ***** 14/Top 50
(MJ clone, see utube)

CG Tre Mann 6-4 170 ***** 24/Top 50
(listed as the nations best shooter)

Now thryan, run your village idiot mouth some more.

Mike White has been a horrible recruiter. Besides the 5th year guys and transfers and who has he recruited that has done well? K. Allen and that whole class was already established to the Gators through Donovan. White did have to work to get them to stay but they were already committed gators. White didnt have to evaluate and recruit them from the beginning. If so, he probably misses just like he has over the past 3 years. Average hire at best. Good coach but cant recruit.

Like I said, Mike White messed up and didn’t recruit a point guard last year and we are paying the price for it. Mike O is a wing and gets no burn. Played 2 minutes and he already talking transfer. But hey, Insta, put another video of the 3 star kid below. Nebheart is going to be good but he’s not ready year, (except he leads the team in Min/Gm) But hey, Insta, put another video up of Neb in HS. He’s a guard who can’t shoot. (43% from the Arc) Again I’ll state that we had a chance at Trent Fraizer who had 29 against Gonzaga and is averaging 22ppg. He would of been a great player between Cheese and Neb. Obvious error by Mike White. But Insta, put another video or star list from what ever site you can find that ranks them the highest. Your a duck (LMFAO )just like Mike White’s recruits. As Billy’s players graduate and go so does our team.

Trent Frazier 6-2 170 **** -- 109 /Top 150 signed with Illinois,
2018-19 Soph - 324 Min - 35 Ast, 25 TO, 18 Stl - 44% 3's --
>>>>> 3.2 Ast/Gm = Ast/TO Ratio = 1.40 <<<<<

Andrew Nembhard 6-5 191 ***** 19/Top 50
2018-19 Fr - 334 Min - 66 Ast, 21 TO, 15 stl - 43% 3's -
>>>>> 6.0 Ast/Gm - Ast/TO Raito = 3.14 <<<<<

~ Looks to me like our tFr is already way better as a PG than your Soph SG is. o_O (do you claim to know what the primary job of the PG is???

Our 2 SG's playing in combinations (both been starters) are:
Allen Sr - 10.3 Pts/Gm
Noah Fr - 9.2 Pts/Gm

This moe-ron would rather have Trent Farizer than these 4 guards:
Mike Okauru 6-3 184 **** - A solid defensive PG backup for Cheese, and now Andrew.
Andrew Nembhard 6-5 191 ***** - 19/Top 50 - Already a solid candidate for SEC Fr PoY
-----
Scottie Lewis 6-5 175 ***** - 14/Top 50
Tre Mann 6-4 170 ***** - 24/Top 50

~ Trent - 109 /Top 150

Furthermore.... Sagrain Poll -

Andrew Nembhard 6-5 191 ***** 19/Top 50
2018-19 Fr - 334 Min - 66 Ast, 21 TO, 15 stl - 43% 3's -
>>>>> 6.0 Ast/Gm - Ast/TO Raito = 3.14 <<<<<

#29 UF 7-4 has already played 3 Top 25's and 1 Top 50.
~ #3 MichSt 10-2 beat #29 UF 7-4 by 4 Pts.

=====

Trent Frazier 6-2 170 **** -- 109 /Top 150 - signed with Illinois,
2018-19 Soph - 324 Min - 35 Ast, 25 TO, 18 Stl - 44% 3's --
>>>>> 3.2 Ast/Gm = Ast/TO Ratio = 1.40 <<<<<

#95 Illinois 4-8 has played 4 Top 25's and 1 Top 50
=======

Just a little FYI EDIT --- ;)
#22 Chokers 11-1 have played only 1 Top 25, and 3 Top 50's....
They beat UF by 5 Pts at a neutral site.

Injury plagued PF Chase Johnson 6-9 220 rsFr will xfer out at mid-season.
"I feel good about the decision," Johnson said.

His final 6-game tally:4 last season 2 this season showed:
23 points and 12 rebounds in 57 minutes.

No one will know how a healthy Johnson would have fared with the Gators, but here's hoping he'll find a safe landing place elsewhere. :)

Good luck Chase...

thryan, you'd better get mommy to help you with your homework, or better yet, hire you a very good tutor...

I find you both amusing and entertaining, in a weird sort of way...
