Possibly just because he is an alumnus of Ole Miss. But yes I don’t think White is going to have any major interest from any good to average basketball programs after his time here is up.
Love my old thread brought back to life! Seriously doubt regardless of what happens the remainder of this season White is out. However, if he was, don't think he would draw any interest from P5 teams. Mid major, absolutely.

Yep and 4 years ago I had my doubts about MW and didn’t think he was good. Here we are 4 years later and nothing has changed. I saw the writing on the wall back then. I could of saved UF a whole lot of money but instead our AD gave MW an extension for some reason.
Players, the AD, and the UAA all get a pass because they are all so good at their jobs.
Now, if they would have fired that sorry incompetent Mike White as PACO suggestged, Socialist-U would be a shoo-in for the Final Four this year, instead of being on the way to their 2nd NIT under the hapless White....
Maybe they should call BLM, they would probably be able to recommend a great B-Ball coach with a name like Dike Black to come in and put this place back on the yearly championship map....
And I nominate PACO for the AD spot, because I've never seen him ever be anything but 100% correct on everything he says here. So GoooooooooooooPACO!!!

Like any loyal Gator fan I want them to win every game. But they are brutal to watch at times (most games). For a period of about 10 minutes (the end of the first half and beginning of the second) they were outscored something like 20-4. I almost stopped watching. Then the timeout at the end with the ball and the lead made me want to throw a brick through the screen.....then White calls for the ball to go to Castleton while knowing he will be double teamed. Plays drawn up like that deserve losses.
I had to look at the Gamecast.... wow, UF went over 8 minutes scoring only 2 points
We were extremely fortunate the way the last minute and a half played out. Really only a boneheaded play by their guard dribbling the time away with only 7.5 seconds left saved us.
Absolutely correct. Mike White's defensive coaching and the Gator's playing that defense didn't have a single thing to do with holding AU to 62 points, or in stopping their final possession either....

When we win White is a genius, when we lose it's either the refs fault or players not executing his brilliant game plan.
While the minority, the haters, ignore the great wins or claim that it's only the players, not the coaching that got the win.
Ignore everything but a lack of championships.

Like money for B-Ball, off court staff, and the many other things that can come into play.

When they lose to anyone, it's more proof positive (for the haters) that Mike needs to be fired.
Your first step in getting that done btw, is to fire the AD that gave Mike an extension and a raise, so get busy with your railing on that dumbazz incompetent Strickland, and the UAA that hired him...

You see, Insta has a rule…… when UF beats opponents, and the opponent brings up injuries or bad calls, then those are just “excuses”. When Insta says UF lost a game ostensibly to injuries or bad ref calls, then those are “reasons”, and not excuses.

Injuries are not the reason this year's team will probably miss the NCAA tournament and will, once again, finish in the middle of the SEC pack. Castleton missed 6 games and we went 4-2 without him. With him we are 13-9. He's a very good player, not POY in the SEC as the coaches voted him before any games were played, but a total effort guy who is very good and we're fortunate to have him. However, this year's team was built on transfers and they haven't gelled the way everybody hoped. We just don't bring in the number of high quality players needed to make us a top tier SEC team. That's a factual truth that cannot be denied. And next year's team doesn't look to be as good as this year's, unless we bring in a couple of super studs, which I highly doubt. We are a perpetual bubble program and if that floats your boat, more power to you. I expect better from THE University of Florida.

It has been a tough year to be sure. This team is a roller coaster ride. Great defense against Auburn. Not so tonight. Who knows what to expect at Georgia.
For the first time since 1992-1996, Arkansas has won back to back games vs UF. Typical Mike White coaching. Reminds me of Dan Mullen losing to Kentucky, twice.
We had a lot going for us tonight. Home crowd. Another chance to notch a big win. Just couldn’t get it done.

Tim Brando has a lifelong hatred for Gator hoops dating as far back to the 80's. I'm trying to understand his praises for Mike White. This is also the same SFBs who said Scott Frost will win multiple national championships at Nebraska, while calling Frost the Nick Saban of this generation.
