When Saban Retires After This National Title, Who Will Bama Go After?

You really think Saban will retire if he wins it this year?? I could see them wanting to talk with Jimbo and Dabo... I dont think Dabo would leave Clemson at all... Kiffin getting promoted to HBC at Bama would never happen... Chip would be really good at bama and would kill everyone with speed but thats like complete opposite of how bama plays football... IDK I can't really think of anyone who would be a nice hire after losing a guy like Saban..

They would go after Dabo and McElwain. Those will likley be their first 2 calls.

I think Mullen would be a good fit but if you are going to go spread why not go for chip first...

Because in Cow-Chip's infinite wizz-dumb (before he got fired), said that Tebow was not good enough to play in the NFL, despite his winning record, a playoff win, and a 2.1 to 1 TD/Int ratio, that's why. Chip needs to return to the LAC 12, where he can win at that level.... o_O

Jimbo? JIMBO? What has he done?

He won (1) NC with a Heisman winning QB. He's been in charge for 6 - 9 years depending on how you look at it.

In his (6) years as HC he has (3) ACC Chanpionships including (2) with Jameis.

In his (4) years without Jameis he averages (3) losses per year in the powerful ACC.

He will prove to be the Mark Richt of Tallahassee.

He and every other nfl coach.

Sorry, but that's an outright lie. I won't bother to list yet again all the ones that have said that he can play at the NFL level.

With a 9-7 record for an otherwise 4-14 team says that Chip/U are FoS.
The ONLY Heisman QB in the last 25 years to have an NFL Playoff win also says you're FoS.
And on and on and on....

Not for nothing, Richt couldn't beat UF. Jimbo doesn't have that problem. That whole NC thing is a bit of a separator as well.

First 6-years as HC:

Mark Richt: 61 - 17
(SEC without a Heisman QB)

Jimbo Fisher: 68 - 14
(ACC, Hesiman QB, and 3-yr head start)

Why isn't he even 3rd string on one said teams?

Exactly, because it's obviously not due to any lack of PROVEN talent at the NFL level.
The actual on the field 'earned' stats don't lie, but some of the NFL's owners and coaches have no such restrictions, while the media-morons and idiot-commentators make a living with their constant BS. Another of the many reasons that I no longer follow any NFL teams.

I will occasionally look to see how a Gator player is doing in the NFL, but that's about it for me now days.

So Jimbo is penalized for recruiting and developing a Heisman QB? Got it.
First, you're on a Gator Board; not the other way around.

Second, I look at facts like statistics and trends. What other successful/Heisman-like/NFL contributing QB has Fisher "recruited and developed" in 9-yrs at FSU? Drew W. and X. Lee never reached their alleged recruiting potential. Ponder and Manuel can't break into the starting lineup in the NFL. Coker excelled only after he left FSU. Goldston drive Nole fans crazy. And now, the FSU fanbase is ready for McGuire to transfer. If there was one other data point perhaps Jimbo could get come credit.

This is true. Here in Birmingham, I've never heard a fan base love on an assistant or want one back as much as Mac. Moreover, if Saban retired, I've heard repeatedly that Mac would be their first choice.

1. Correct
2. Fisher did not recruit either X. Lee or Weatherford and then put in Ponder as a RS Sophomore over Senior Weatherford and developed him and he was taken in the first round. Injuries hurt Ponder. Coker left FSU because he could not get past a once in a generation player named Winston. He was developed for three years by Jimbo which is why he is starting now.
3. I could not see Bama taking Mac.

Is this his way of refusing to admit Mac is a decent coach

Not true. I'm not suggesting that Mac isn't a quality coach; to the contrary I am suggesting that Bama would never replace Saban with a coach that only has 3 years HC experience. Maybe in the days of Mike Shula, not any more. Please don't be so sensitive.

I don't think Saban is leaving, but if he did, IMHO they would go after Dabo and then dumbo.

Im not buying Dabo. He's had great staffs around him

Mccorvey working behind the scenes is a big part of that, he was our OC in college. He's an offensive genius in the passing game, we just never had the pieces at State. Mccorvey is some type of quality assistant for Dabo and you can see him on the sideline every game. He was Bama's OC in those years we used to meet them in Atlanta during the spurrier years for those that didn't know.

Bama would call Mac first IMO. I cannot see them hiring anyone who didn't run between the tackles and throw to the TE exclusively. And I certainly couldn't see them accepting Dabo's offense and mediocre defense.

FWIW Bama doesn't throw to the TE.

Since it is 100% certain they will win, it is probably appropriate to speculate.

Jimbo?
Kelly?
Elevate Kiffin?
Could they possibly want to talk Mac?

Satan won't retire. He wants to at least catch Bryant if not pass him in the record books. Saban has 4 NCs while Bryant had 6.

He ain't leaving until he accomplishes his goal

If Chip Kelly was available, I would say I hope so

And I think that would depend on how much truth is behind the 'off the field' issue rumors
There is no "off the field" issues. A few players feel like they haven't been treated fairly. That's not an issue. That happens everywhere when your dealing with 85 football players.
