LOL. I love seeing the Broncos lose and all of their fans booing. Elway spent all the money and effort on Manning and he still hasnt won a darn thing with him. On top of all of that Peyton Manning can't win the big one. As good as he is he just doesn't have that "it" factor. Even sweeter the loss was to his former team.

Yup...I always enjoy watching Manning lose.

Manning is washed up physically. Hopefully, he'll keep coming back and the Broncos will be forced to shell out $19m a year for a rag-armed siv who keeps bothering everyone one the sidelines with his polaroids.

I'm loving it too, not for Manning but Elway and how he dumped TT for him. Boooyah!!!

I've never liked Elway. Not when he was a player and not now. Manning is a great QB but he just really doesn't have that little extra to win the big one. He never won anything in college and for the most part fails in the NFL playoffs.

Manning is great in the regular season but absolutely awful in the playoffs.

He has the most losses ever, and only had a super bowl ring because he got to play the Bears in a downpour where everything bounced their way.

11-13 in the playoffs...most losses ever...1-2 in Super Bowls and last year was an embarrassment. He's done. Keep in mind, his career accomplishments in non-regular season play include one I'll earned SEC Title and one Super Bowl.

Greatest ever? I think not. Most entitled 5-head? Well he has that in spades.

Manning is most certainly not the greatest QB ever. 2 QBs right off the top of my head are ahead of Manning in Montana and Brady.

This

Love seeing them lose too. It wasn't even about getting rid of Tim, it's how they handled it that annoyed me. Gave him almost no support then trashed him on the way out...after a playoff victory and bringing life to their organization. Who does that? I hope they fail as long as Elway is there.

Exactly. So what you decided he was not the QB of the future for you, why publicly trash him, especially a guy of such high character who gave his all to the team and the team and fans rallied around him?

He's probably 5th behind Montana, Unitas, Elway and Brady, but he is bad in the playoffs. There are actually quite a few other quarterbacks that I'd rather have starting a playoff game for me. Even if you give him a pass this year, because he is obviously old and washed up, he has more playoff losses and one-and-dones than anyone else. He's the only guy in that top 5 with a losing playoff record. In most of those losses, his team was favored.

He's the best of all time at running up stats and scores against an overmatched opponent, but he's not as good in close games, which are guaranteed in the playoffs.

I've always liked Denver, but once they dumped Tebow and picked up Peyton I turned against them. Peyton is great at piling up numbers, but has never been a big game QB. Never beat Florida, has lost sooo many important NFL games and while he seems like a pretty normal, personable guy there's just something about him I've never liked. Kind of funny that Eli has 2 rings playing for pretty mediocre Giants teams, while Peyton has always been surrounded by tons of talent and just hasn;t gotten it done at the level expected.

Don't get hating manning because of Tim Tebow's exit.TT was gone when John Elway became GM because TT was not an NFL qb. That has/had nothing to do with PM.

I hated PM long before I even heard of TT.

I have nothing against Peyton Manning. Never did anything to us.

Nope

On January 5, 2011, Elway was named executive vice president of football
operations of the Broncos, with the final say in all football matters.
In this capacity, he reports to team president Joe Ellis and is the
immediate supervisor for head coach http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Elway#cite_note-52 Xanders left the team after the 2011 season, giving Elway complete control over the football side of the Broncos operation.

Tebow began the San Diego Chargers in week five.
After the season, John Elway confirmed that Tebow would be the Broncos starting quarterback going into training camp in 2012.

In the wake of the Broncos signing New York Jets, on March 21, 2012, in exchange for the Jets' fourth and sixth round picks.

LOL @ Manning getting the coach fired....won division four straight years and a Super Bowl appearance....

He was along for the ride though. He's a good coach but his defenses were disappointing considering the talent they have had. Demarcus ware and von miller rushing and they never sniffed Luck.

Lol Fox has lived off of Jake Delhomme and Peyton Manning and has nothing to show for it.

Of course, watch my Bears hire the idiot.

So Elway uses Fox as his scapegoat. No Fox isn't great but it shows Elway is in disarray.

Guys, I have nothing but respect and admiration for Tim Tebow and am in complete agreement with what he stands for. that being said he was not a first round talent and was never going to be the long-term starter in Denver especially after John Elway was named GM. I was living there at the time and followed the whole circus closely. If it had not been PM it would have been someone else as JE knew TT was not the guy. In his defense TT was completely misused throughout his NFL career.

I think it has been said numerous times in this thread alone that we understood the why of Elway of getting PM and not keeping Tebow, but the HOW was disgusting and unprofessional. Since you lived the circus, surely you would agree.

Maybe so, but how could that determination be made after 1 season? There is no precedent at all for the way Tebow was treated. QB's who get a 1st round pick spent on them get 4-5 years to prove themselves. Guys like Alex Smith got 6. I went back 15 years and couldn't find one case of a young QB being traded after leading his team to the playoffs AND winning a playoff game. Yet everybody was so quick to write Tebow off after like 17 career starts and a playoff win, it's insane. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he was gonna be a franchise QB either. But there's no question he got treated differently from other young QB's in the league for whatever reason.

While I'm glad TT was drafted in the first round and that getting first round money will help TT in his Ministry/Missionary efforts he should not have been a first round pick. Also keep in mind that Denver is not an ideal place for Christian athletes or in my experience , Christians in general. TT was a 5th or 6th round qb imo.

I thought you knew I was a Bears fan?

And dude, come on...Brady is going to finish in the top 3-4 in stats of all time, he's won 3 Super Bowls and been to 5 (and a good shot at a record 6th).

I think it's safe to call him too 5.

If Tebow was anybody else, he prolly coulda been at least a backup in the league for 6-8 years minimum. But the clamoring fanbase made having him on a roster more trouble than it is worth.

Negative Elway was GM when TT won his first playoff game. He is the one who traded Tebow.

Tom Brady cannot be TOP 5 until he and Beli-cheat win a SB post-Spy-Gate.
They went 18-0 the year after Spygate. And if not for a miracle catch win the SB and go 19-0. And they've won what, 12 games every season since then? Spygate is beyond overblown.

Agreed. Which is why I laugh at the people who insist the only reason he was given a shot is because of who he is. Ironically, the only reason he isn't in the league now is because of who he is. There's no rationale for why he can't even be a backup somewhere. Bottom line is teams didn't want to deal with the publicity which really has nothing to do with him.

Correct. Brady is easily one of the top 5 NFL QBs of all time. He has the stats, Super Bowls, etc
