It's true...not every nazi died in WWII. And some of them were highly educated and skilled so their expertise was put to use after the war.

Many German scientists and von Braun in particular were whisked away from Germany and the Soviets at the end of WWII. 1,600 rocket scientists were shipped to the US during Operation Paperclip. It was a coup for the US (and the Allies) and a loss for the Soviets who also wanted them.

However, the Soviets got their fair share and that is how their rocket programs developed so quickly as well.

To pretend that this somehow means that the nazis won WWII is utter nonsense. We simply didn't murder all nazis after the nazi Reich was THOROUGHLY defeated.

Also interesting, many Japanese were used similarly even though some of them were OBVIOUS war criminals.

Colonel Masanobu Tsuji was probably the most extreme example. He ate the liver of a downed American pilot who was executed on his orders and was also largely responsible for the atrocities committed on the Bataan Death March.

Tsuji was an influential advocate of the attack on the United States. General Ryukichi Tanaka testified after the war that "the most determined single protagonist in favor of war with the United States was Tsuji Masanobu."

This guy was used by American Intelligence after the war to help prevent the spread of communism in Asia and the Pacific.

And yet we killed the one guy that didn't want to involve the US at all.

Also of note, the murder and cannibalism of these 8 pilots was known as the Chichijima Incident. All 8 were killed, 4 were eaten by their captors.

9 airmen were shot down that day but only 8 were captured. The one who got away??? George H. W. Bush.

The more you know.

In fairness, this guy would have absolutely been hung after the war but he fled and disappeared into Thailand, China and Vietnam.

By the time he re-emerged we were no longer killing war criminals and he had established himself as someone who could assist us with fighting communism through the contacts he had made with anti-communist factions in China and Vietnam.

The Japanese are still super pissed off about that but not for the reason you think.

Tsuji MAY have prevented a coup in 1950's Japan by nationalist extremists...but I doubt the story.

Allegedly they had devised a plan to murder the Prime Minister and take power for themselves but Tsuji convinced them that the conservatives in power weren't the enemy...rather the socialists in Japan were and the socialists would benefit from the coup.

This story came from Chinese Nationalist sources from the era. It's more likely that Tsuji told them that story in order to make himself sound more important. However, it's possible that there are elements of truth in his story.

Amazing that a Japanese war criminal and cannibal was elected to Japanese parliament (Diet) twice after the war though.

I meant the "assassination" of Admiral Yamamoto.

They can EAD on that front. He was a brilliant tactician and commander and it damaged their war efforts when we killed him.

Yes, he was against going to war with the US but he did everything within his power to help them win and cause us to lose.

They also get pissy over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They can eat another one over that. It's a D buffet all the sudden.

Simple answer...half to Country WANTS things FROM the gubment. We call them L I B E R A L S. From college paid for to reparations, to pay without work, free abortions, etc. In other words...FREEBIE PROFESSIONALS!

There's a specific reason they're mad and it's the same reason we had to bomb the islands.

it has to do with Myoji, Bushido, and face.

If he had committed hari-kari he could have saved face and saved us a trip.

I have actually always admired the man but he was our enemy and he was a source of strength for the Empire of Japan.

The history revisionists can spin this or the bombings to their hearts content but the Japanese Empire and their code were responsible for the whole ride.

There's part of it right there. We don't understand ritual suicide so we call it hara kiri. Belly slitting.

By shooting him down midair without laying eyed on him we denied him his right to die in honorable combat or commit seppukku to stain to the emperor, which is God in his religion. Plus he was from the same noble clan as the emperor.

We insulted him way more than we intended.

As to why we needed to bomb the islands.

"The way of the samurai is found in death. We ride into battle as dead men, to claim victory and our lives with blood. "

We'd have had to kill every last one of them.

I guess the Japanese should have given each Catholic the opportunity to perform last rights before killing them. That didn't happen either.

It wasn't a matter of us not understanding their religion or customs. We had an opportunity and we took it. That opportunity was fleeting so his customs were not a legitimate option for us.

You don't have to convince me.

I'm explaining why they were mad.

I know. That shit from some people sort of pisses me off. The double standards and the intellectual dishonesty over the use of atomic bombs to end the war.

It would have been more kind to kill a few million during an invasion of the remaining 4 home islands, apparently.

Okinawa would have surrendered and helped. They are the Sicily of Japan.

Trump to return to NYC to face questioning over fraud lawsuit
Trump's deposition pertains to AG Letitia James' lawsuit, not the charges from DA Alvin Bragg

Former President Trump will return to New York City this week to face questioning regarding Attorney General Letitia James' fraud lawsuit against him and the Trump Organization.

Trump is expected to return to NYC from Florida sometime Thursday and will face questions in James’ office in Manhattan. James' investigation is separate from the 34 counts of felony fraud that Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg leveled against Trump last week.

The visit will be Trump's first time in NYC since he surrendered to authorities in the Bragg case.

Thursday will be the second time the former president has sat down for questioning from James. He also appeared for a deposition with her office in the weeks leading up to her lawsuit late last year. In that instance, he refused to answer any questions, repeatedly invoking his Fifth Amendment rights.

Will Trump attend his rape trial? Judge wants to know

NEW YORK (AP) — A federal judge wants to know if ex-President Donald Trump plans to attend a New York trial this month resulting from a columnist’s claims that he raped her in a department store dressing room in the 1990s.

Judge Lewis A. Kaplan issued an order Monday directing parties in the case to notify him by April 20 whether they will be present throughout the trial, scheduled to start April 25 in Manhattan federal court. And later in the day, he rejected a request that names of anonymous jurors be released to lawyers, saying Trump’s latest public statements about a criminal case against him in state court show jurors might be harassed if their identities got out.

A writer, E. Jean Carroll, sued Trump in November, saying he raped her in early 1996 after a chance meeting at the Bergdorf Goodman department store. He has repeatedly and emphatically denied it in language sure to be highlighted for a jury that will decide whether the rape occurred and if Trump defamed Carroll with his comments.

Nobody talks about that Trump literally is on trial (civil) for rape. That's insane.

No kidding. My Dad would have been sent there as GI cannon fodder after surviving some really tough times and narrow escapes in the Battle of the Bulge. Instead he got to come home in the fall of ‘45. Truman wasn’t on board for any more screwing around with losses of American young men.
Yours Truly is grateful for that.

He's already been to jail...you must have missed it

Has Biden been to jail? Nope.

I hate to tell you this but Joey Applesauce couldn’t tell you if he’s been to jail or not. Unless he can recall if they still use cloth diapers instead of Depends.
He is a full blown idiot vegetable.

I thought Trump wears diapers too? It's an internet rumor or joke at least.

Here are all the times Joe Biden has been accused of acting inappropriately toward women and girls

Yeah every man can be accused of inappropriate behavior at some point. It is tough for men, i agree with that notion but RAPE is different.
