Time to cut the cord on McElwain

There's no matter assistants to even hire, especially after their track record at huge football schools..

we need to change our offense entirely, and now...

and here you have the beginning of the end with your best players quitting on the staff

Didn't we learn with the last scrub coach Foley hired that PRO-STYLE doesn't work at UF.

Stricklin better be for real.

We will NOT hire your coach after he is gone this time, I promise. We will stick with Muschamp, we have done pretty well with ex-UF coaches though.

Florida won't, obviously, but it's clear as day by now that this guy isn't the answer, and never will be. He can't recruit at a high level, at friggin' Florida no less, and his offense is an abomination. Next time, Florida needs to go all out and get a proven commodity.
Ever consider that maybe the problem is the school and not coaches. Myer got enough and bailed out on you after his savior Tebow left. Muschamp never had a chance with your fanbase and AD, now you are ready to axe Mc Elwain. You are about in the same boat as Tennessee. Keep it up and nobody will want the job. By the way, Muschamp is happy and doing well.

Muschamp went 4-8 and lost to ga southern, that is ok at scjr but not here. We expect to hang championship banners on the walls....

Coming from a school that has ZERO trophies! Hilarious.

Not to be ugly here, but the expectations at the two programs are very different.
Ha ha, only if the expectation is anything other than winning the most football games possible. That should be the expectation of EVERY school in the country unless your an Alabama fan. The Crimson Tide is the only team that have any "right" to EXPECT any certain number of wins or championship game appearances. Even programs like Texas, Notre Dame and Southern Cal have to deal with mediocre seasons. In this day of college football parody any coach at any program can string together some ultra successful campaigns (see Houston). So for any fan base to think they deserve or have a God given right to have any higher expectations than another program is being naive to modern college football.

Since joining the SEC you guys have only 7 seasons with a winning conference record, during that same period we have only 5 seasons without a winning conference record (and 3 of those belong to Champ). 5-3 conf record at SCjr and you're in the record books, at Florida, a couple of those and we show you the door.....we expect to compete for the title every year, not just win as many games "as possible"

Spurrier and Urban are long gone, those three NC banners do not help you in 2016.
And South Carolina doesn't even have an SEC title and just one SEC East championship. Spurrier is long gone from USCjr as well.

All those banners you have... Oh wait.

You'll have to mind a few of the Gamecock posters that will be bothering this forum the next 6-7 days. Chances are 1 or 2 of them are bored Clempson fans trying to stir up trouble. It's like clockwork with a few of the them.

Any Gamecock fan trying to brag about what we have accomplished in the SEC is either ignorant, drunk, Clempson fan trolling, or trolling themselves.

Please explain this statement.

WTF, our AD had a man-crush on Chump

Foley was a complete loser as UF's AD.

UF is the ONLY school in NCAA history to have both Football and Basketball NC's in the same year and in the same seasons.

UF is the only SEC school since the Big Dance was formed to have B-2-B NC's in Basketball, at what's always been called a 'football' school, (which is bs btw)
UF is the undisputed ALL SPORTS school in the SEC, nobody else is even close to the Gators.

Foley only presided over 27 NC's and only 130 SEC-C's in his tenure.... What a bum...

And did Foley ever have any UF team put on NCAA probation for cheating? o_O

I'll admit, today I was wondering 'what if' we had taken Chump and Roper one more year, which would have landed us Lamar Jackson. Certainly wouldn't be worse off than we are right now
Lamar Jackson wasn't being recruited by Muschamp at all. Why do you just make things up sometimes? And even if Muschamp was what makes you think Lamar Jackson would have committed to UF?? We had the 92nd ranked recruiting class in the country the day Chump got fired.

So what he still killed the football program in the end.

Why do some of you worship Mr Ed the way you do???

WOW

Thats funny, if you look here we were actually projected to land him up until signing day. But don't let facts get in the way of your agenda.

And yes, we will again have a 92nd rates class when we run a lame duck coach out again next year. But damn it, waiting til next October to fire Mac will make the job soooo much more appealing.

lol

Lamar Jackson was in the Swamp visiting when Muschamp lost to the Cocks. Jackson in an interview said Muschamp didn't talk to many of the recruits after the game.

Yeah....most of those projections to Florida were dated after Muschamp had been canned. You will also notice the line graph for UF begins its upward trajectory in December. I won't say Chump wasn't recruiting him....but to the extent that he was he was very ineffective.

Lamar Jackson's old HS coach used to coach in Gainesville (GHS and Buchholz). here's what he said:

In fact, Jackson's high school coach said the quarterback probably would have been a Gator is Will Muschamp weren't fired.

"I think he would have gone to Florida if Muschamp had stayed,” Rick Swain, Jackson's coach at Boynton Beach High School said. “When you don’t know anyone at a school it makes it pretty tough. He knew (Teddy) Bridgewater had gone to Louisville and done great.”

So Jackson could have been the next Tim Tebow for the Gators? SEC teams not named Florida are probably very glad that didn't happen.

Thanks. Paco is in that same denial thing as MJ. They can't help it

So on one hand we have his high school coach who knows him personally and was obviously in on some of the discussions about his school of choice.

On the other hand we have a message board poster that goes under the alias of PacoGator19.

Clearly, Paco knows more.

Lamar Jackson was never going to UF. He verbally committed to Louisville on August 30, 2014. UF wasn't even under consideration at that time.

So what? Franks was committed to LSU at one point.

Treon Harris was committed to FSU before he signed with UF,

Cleveland was committed to Houston.

etc etc

Had Muschamp hired Roper at the beginning instead of Weis, he is still the coach...the Gators are staring at a top 5 class....the East would already be locked up and FSU fans would be worried about the game. None of that is true now. Muschamp is getting ready to have a nice run at USC. The pieces are being put together. He will prove over time to be a better coach than MacIlwain.
