I took a scan through the JMac contract linked in the other post. I'll admit it was quick - and so perhaps I missed something - but I see severance payments due to JMac if he is terminated without cause WITH NO TIE TO A NON-SOLICITATION AND/OR NON-COMPETE. I don't understand how we haven't learned our lesson on this one. These provisions are standard language in the business world and there are multiple, recent instances of them popping up in the CFB coaching world. How on Earth could we have been bitten so hard by Muschamp and not changed our ways?
For what it's worth, it looks like they did at least add a provision that mitigates the severance due to JMac if he takes another job but for some reason have only restricted it to SEC schools???
