The top 8 ranked programs hosted a regional, for example Florida was the top seed in the Gainsville regional.

There was a sub regional as well, Florida was a top 8 seed nationally so they not only hosted a regional but also a Super Regional as I posted above.

There were 16 regionals, the highest remaining team from each regional went on to host the super regional, which was aptly named.

Gainesville Regional

Game 1 FINAL: Ohio State 3, South Florida 1 | Box score

Game 2 FINAL: No. 2 Florida 8, Bethune-Cookman 0 (6 innings) | Box score

I've been watching college softball a long time and can't remember when all 8 Top seeds made it to the World Series. Usually there are a couple of upsets. Not this year. Lots of great, exciting games, but the host teams in the Supers all advanced. Should be a great World Series. Although the SEC is the strongest conference, with all 13 teams making the tournament, this year the Pac-12's upper tier was better than the SEC. Oregon, UCLA, Washington & Arizona State were all Top 8 seeds, the SEC only had 2 - UF and GA
