I think it's unfortunate that your allegiance to a set of values is being questioned. That said, I know several who feel as you do about Trump. It's important to realize that whoever the nom is, he / she will be mercilessly savaged by the press, Trump or otherwise.
Problem is….this country isn’t the one I love. That country died already. Stolen elections with a fake and government guided insurrection and here we are. The powers that be had to get rid of Trump. Both sides. It is what it is.

Trump is many things, but above all else, he's a patriot and takes great pride when the country does well. The press buried almost all of the good he did behind the scenes and completely buried Melania while continuing to gush about Michelle Obama ...

Possibly. Also possible that Trump loyalist won’t get off their porch (as has been implied by goldmom) if he isn’t the nominee as many still believe he was robbed of the Presidency. Some will feel slighted and that elections don’t matter if we allow wrongs to happen without correcting them.
I’d like to resume that journey as well for the good of our country. I just sincerely believe that a younger person should pick up that banner and run with it.
