Please Just Hire Lane

And I would take Fedora 10-10 over Norvell.

But it appears we're going to bizarrely just go right after Napier.

Glad I am not the only one who finds it odd we take a G5 coach without exploring several options. If you read some people’s take on him you would think they were talking about Saban or Belichek

You I mean Lou Saban and Steve Belicheck?

The only reason you'd take Fedora over Norvell is because he has a beard. He even for fired from Baylor as an OC.

No idea what to think of the Napier situation. Well just have to wait and see I guess.

Well he's never had cornrows....soooo.....

Regardless (we're both bustin balls.)

I just don't understand why it seems that we went immediately after Napier.

can you really not offer Lincoln Riley 10 million and see what happens? If nothing else you swing for the fences.

Napier can recruit I guess, and if he puts a good staff together and tries to be a CEO, I'd be fine with that...I guess.
Again...why was he the go to?

Im with you. Do like we did way back when SOS left. Go after a national champ coach. Go after a super bowl winner. Shanahan and Stoops. Should have offered big money to a handful of top college coaches and even NFL guys.

Insta, insta, insta. Long time no talk. Your favorite Notre Dame fan here. How have you been? Have you been enjoying the football season?
Yep, about as much as usual when the team struggles, and the 'entitled' fans constantly whine. I've seen the good and the bad for going on 60 years now....

UF's last 2 NC's included a 2006 41 - 14 asskickin' of the tOSU Schmuckeyes with their Heisman QB, and in 2008 a double digit win over the Choke-la-homo Swooners with their NCAA Record 54 Pts/Gm Heisman QB, 24 - 14, while holding them to 40 pts under their season Pt's per game average.

While your always over-rated, has-been, Neutered Lame's last N.E. Media-morons given NC was way back in 1988, when they had played only 5 teams with a winning record, and beat an 11 win WVa team that had only played 2 teams with a winning record. (talk about a joke / gimmie NC)

Is ole Jelly Belly Kelly keeping your drunk rapists out of jail now days?
I wouldn't know because like most other current day fans, I don't pay any attention to what the has-been drunks in south bendover are doing....

LSU offered Riley $12m and he said no. At least that is the rumor anyway.

Paco-

I think the frustration is we are treating like he is Saban and he is honestly no less of a risk than Fuente, Willie, Norvell or Mac. I get it that people think he will out recruit Saban ans Day but there is ZERO proof he will out recruit Vandy. I know everyone is a “risk” but anointing this guy as Christ himself is rubbing some people the wrong way. He is far more popular with recruit-niks than he is with actual football people.

Who are you talking about? I think just about all the candidates have some kind of risk. If you are talking about Napier he’s better than those guys you just mentioned but yes there is some risk for sure. I was a little surprise Fuente didn’t work out as I rate him higher than those other guys as well. Napier is a big time recruiter. That wouldn’t be the risk/problem with him. It would be more on field stuff, etc. For example I wouldn’t be thrilled with him calling the plays and doubling as the OC as well. I do like Napier more than Kiffin & Cristobal for certain reasons that I won’t get into right now. But these are just my opinions.

That’s a major smack down.

Unless Napier ended up at LSU you would think the chances of it being Kiffin are pretty low now unless they are doing a good spin job with the media.

It is my opinion that Kiffin is down the list for both UF and LSU.

It’s stupid to go after big name or established coaches that you aren’t going to get…it looks foolish and sad…

and let’s face reality…while we hold Florida in high regard…it isn’t the “dream” job everybody wants it to be…Florida has fired its last three coaches after no more than 4 years each…and despite some moderate level of success for each…

There is no way a coach like Lincoln Riley is going to leave an established program (with his system in place) to come to UF so they can be the next sacrificial lamb…

it is what it is…the impatient culture at Florida has, in part, created this…like it or not…

and you will see that again with the next hire made…it ain’t gonna be some rock star…sadgator can assure you…

Asking Bob Stoops to come coach Florida is like sadgator asking mrs. sadgator for a handjob…

she’s not interested…it makes both parties uncomfortable…and with free legal internet porn you can ultimately get to the same place you’d be anyway without all the hassle…even if it isn’t quite as exciting and fulfilling…
Wait, are you suggesting we look for our next coach on free internet porn sites?

Dude, you wanna hire Lane Kiffin....a coach who is not above abandoning us in the middle of the night in the 1st year. Don't tell me we wouldn't be as mad as UT fans were.

Saying you want Lane Kiffin is like saying you want a sporadic coach with Hugh freeze habits. Should we go ahead put ourselves on recruiting probation now or wait till the ink dries? Lol
If you’re going to hire kiffen, just hire freeze. He’s going to crush it wherever he ends up for a year or two before he gets busted dropping bags and making phone calls

He had one bad season…

if he smile was telling…it was saying…

“the expectations these people have are unreasonably nuts”…

one bad season guys…one bad season…

every coaching candidate will know this…

get ready to become Tennessee…that is what we are now…
One bad season is one thing. Quitting is another. And I was hoping he was the guy, but once you quit you can never be trusted again. And he quit on this team. That is unforgivable, imo.

According to Blake Alderman and Thomas Goldkamp.....

"After talking to several, really pretty good sources, I don't think Florida is in the market for Lane Kiffin at all. I think because of some behind the scenes things that have already gone down at Florida, I think he's a candidate you just can't touch."

"Scott Stricklin and his staff have already done some vetting. I think they've probably ran into a thing or two at Ole Miss that has raised enough of a red flag that Lane Kiffin is not a candidate for Florida at this time"

Kiffin is a good coach but he’s not a long term solution or a program builder. Actually his recruiting is only a little better than average as well. I just think he’s a bit unstable and can’t trust him. He always seems like he has 1 foot out the door. I don’t think Kiffin was under consideration by our admin because of some of those things.

If we don't get Napier I think Matt Campbell is choice #2.

For reasons that sadgator won’t explain, he follows Matt Campbell very closely. He had done a great job at ISU. He is an extremely loyal and stable guy. And he is an amazing offensive mind. Any big time P5 program would be lucky to have him. sadgator thinks he would be a very nice fit. Despite sadgator’s sadness at Mullen’s departure, a Campbell hire would give him hope.

With our talent deficit I am not sure he recruits as well as we need and has no real connections in the Southeast. That said, I hear he is plan B at this point.
