Please Just Hire Lane

If LSU doesn't hire Napier, I believe they end up with the Fat Stoops brother. I might be wrong but I believe Riley stays at OU for another season.

I don't really understand what Riley is doing. He has to know that Oklahoma is going to struggle wildly at least for a while in the SEC. why not make the bump to an SEC power and get your thing going?

Im shocked that they don't seem to be doing much of anything outside of Napier and Aranda after like 2 months to work on it.

I think they already have there deal.

LSU is getting Lincoln Reily
Sure I've heard two or three different "it's done here's the contract" things and yet nope, nothing.

But as I've said, it makes a ton of sense.

Just don't understand why we didn't seemingly attempt it unless we reached out and he said absolutely not interested, move on.

Strong possibility. Very strong.
Not that the fans have a say in it but would they want Heupel? I just have my reservations when it comes to Heupel and the fans will feel they should get someone better. It would be hilarious to stick it to the Vols fans and possibly their AD since I'm not a big fan of Danny White.

Because I think they are going to pay a price we wouldn’t consider.

But yes, if he is going to be in the SEC LSU and Florida would be much better places

What would be great is if Riley does go to LSU and then Josh Heupel bolts from Knoxville to take the Oklahoma job.

Still have to play both every year. LSU got the best WR while Miles was there running the ball 80% of the time, can only imagine under Reily

I think he improved it at FAU some and his first 2 classes were decent but not real good for Ole Miss. This class is bad but not sure if its because he might be bolting.
I'd sure like to know where Kiffin would bolt to. Miami? Awesome facilities🙄 while scUM has a president who doesn't GAS about the athletic program as a whole. They don't have the type of money to pay Kiffin or any coach like Fisher, Saban, etc.
I'm sure the money will flow from the likes of Clinton Portis, Warren Sapp and Bernie Kosar. Oh wait! They're all broke as hell and Dwayne Johnson, AKA The Rock, worth almost a net billion, is one friggin cheapskate.

Right now Kiffin's recruiting class is not good, ranked #38. However, he may soon get Arch Manning. He has Ole Miss at their ceiling and not sure there's much left for him there. But I really don't want him at UF.

Maybe the Shalala/Shapiro express is back in action? Seen any new south FL ponzi schemes? :p

Not sure Miami is trying to claim some rich boosters are going to help the school pump another 20 million plus a year to help football out for a while or something like that. I hope with their AD situation they get stuck with Diaz for another season. Kiffin is rumored to be offered a 4 year 30 million or so deal by Ole Miss to keep him. I think 4 years is the limit for Ole Miss because of state law or something.

May not be too many choices if other teams ink their guys tomorrow evening. Who else would be on OU's radar? Aranda?

IF Heupel goes to OU, I could see Mike Leach to UT. That may lead full circle of Mullen back the MSU if he doesn't go the NFL Route.

How much does an NFL OC make? I don't know, asking. Mullen's not proven to be HBC material at the college level the way he threw in the towel. No way in hell an NFL team gives him a head coach gig after that.

From a former college coach, the draw to the NFL is I believe its only 3 years until you are vested in their retirement.

?? Can you translate that? lol Let me guess. Mullen would be happy make a million or so a year for 3 years and drawing 25% and buying an RV and touring the USA?

UPDATE: Insta is now claiming that if you put Saban at UF, his recruiting will be just as bad as Mullen's and if you put Mullen at UA, that he will suddenly sign the #1 or #2 class every year.
If his argument is that Bama has a player buying recruiting machine in place, he's not wrong. However, he's ignoring the fact that Saban stockpiled tons of talent while at LSU and would do similar at UF. Not 5 star on top of 5 star, but certainly 4 star on top of 4 star.

Mac and Mullen just weren't great recruiters though Mac did seem to get some that ended up being pretty good after he left. Trying to think of Mullen's recruits that really excelled here so far. Just off the top of my head - Elam and Pitts? Dexter should be a high pick also.

He had one bad season…

if he smile was telling…it was saying…

“the expectations these people have are unreasonably nuts”…

one bad season guys…one bad season…

every coaching candidate will know this…

get ready to become Tennessee…that is what we are now…
Is it really unreasonable to expect to do better than 2-6 in the SEC?

Its the worse SEC record we've had since 1992....when divisions were made.
Exactly!

If we were 4-4 and 7-4 overall, this would be a discussion on how Mullen was going to use AR to bounce us back to the top next year, plus there would be the griping about the lack of recruiting. But this disaster, getting blown out by SoCar and made to look stupid by Mizzou, then Mullen with the shoulder shrugs and IDGAF attitude, no. Just no. Time to move on.

There were times this year I felt Grantham was actively trying to sabotage us, and after he got canned, Mullen took up the same goal.

You know how much it pains me to agree with you. But damn, when you are right, you are right. I'm not the first person to see where the wheels came off, but it started with "The Shoe".
Grantham doesn't even pull the idiot out.
The defense last year was on Grantham, not Mullin's fault really, just bad hiring judgement, it happens. Defense doesn't even know where to line up when the ball is snapped, most often out of position, undisciplined, offsides in critical situations, totally discombobulated.
Team goes into the crapper in the bowl game. Can be blamed on numerous things including Grantham.
Mullen keeps Grantham. Totally on Mullen.

Fast forward to 2021. Mullen continues to back Grantham. Mullin has confrontation with Strickland when Grantham shits the bed yet another year, this defense is nowhere as crappy as they are coached. Against USCe and Missouri the offense shits the bed, after Grantham is shitcanned the defense plays decently against Missouri with an assistant coach. Hmmm.

Smells like sabotage to me after Todd the Toad was sent packing. Mullen picked the wrong hill to die on. Sucks, I was in his corner. He made his own bed, and shit in it.

Nice colorful diatribe. I enjoyed it.

Yep, about as much as usual when the team struggles, and the 'entitled' fans constantly whine. I've seen the good and the bad for going on 60 years now....

UF's last 2 NC's included a 2006 41 - 14 asskickin' of the tOSU Schmuckeyes with their Heisman QB, and in 2008 a double digit win over the Choke-la-homo Swooners with their NCAA Record 54 Pts/Gm Heisman QB, 24 - 14, while holding them to 40 pts under their season Pt's per game average.

While your always over-rated, has-been, Neutered Lame's last N.E. Media-morons given NC was way back in 1988, when they had played only 5 teams with a winning record, and beat an 11 win WVa team that had only played 2 teams with a winning record. (talk about a joke / gimmie NC)

Is ole Jelly Belly Kelly keeping your drunk rapists out of jail now days?
I wouldn't know because like most other current day fans, I don't pay any attention to what the has-been drunks in south bendover are doing....

I see you haven't come up with some new and original content? Shocking!

With your team and program in the absolute gutter and finishing ONLY better than Vandy, I wouldn't want to look all the way up at the top 10 in the polls to see how much better ND is than my program. I don't blame you. You've been busy celebrating huge victories over Samford and .......... ummmmm, South Carolina (no, that was a 30 point blowout), ummmmmmm Mizzou (no, that was an OT loss). Well, maybe you can fill me in on those huge wins this season. The fact you're having to go back 15 years to make yourself feel better is just pure comedy gold. Keep going, slugger. It's adorable. Like a dumb baby bird trying to fly for the first time.

Kelly just finished his 5th consecutive 10+ win season, with 2 CFP births. 40 consecutive wins over non-ranked opponents. Isn't UF 3-10 in their last 13 games against Power 5 teams? Impressive.

Say, who was your star TE on those championship teams from 2006-2008? Are you going to travel to the Birmingham Bowl to cheer your Gators on? That's big time, Insta. Better get a shirt to remember it.

Decent drive-by. 6/10.

For you Lane Kiffin nad swingers.
The west coast seems to be his natural element and if true, this would be the only school that offers and no need to remind everyone that Oregon has Phil Knight money. Yeah yeah, he renewed his contract with Ole Miss, which means squat to Oregon.

It's a good thing for these west coast schools that wildfire season doesn't coincide with coaching carousel season. It would be harder to hire a top coach when your backyard looks like this for several months a year:
