Last year, high-ranking NSA official Bill Binney said, "We are, like, that far from a turnkey totalitarian state." Now, Binney says that the U.S. has already become a full-blown police state.
Binney told Washington's Blog on Wednesday that:
"The main use of the collection from these [NSA spying] programs [is] for law enforcement. [See the 2 slides below]."

"These slides give the policy of the DOJ/FBI/DEA etc. on how to use the NSA data. In fact, they instruct that none of the NSA data is referred to in courts ? cause it has been acquired without a warrant."
"So, they have to do a 'Parallel Construction' and not tell the courts or prosecution or defense the original data used to arrest people. This I call: a 'planned programed perjury policy' directed by US law enforcement."
"And, as the last line on one slide says, this also applies to 'Foreign Counterparts.'"
"This is a total corruption of the justice system not only in our country but around the world. The source of the info is at the bottom of each slide. This is a totalitarian process ? means we are now in a police state."
Binney, a 32-year veteran of the agency, was instrumental in the creation of the NSA's surveillance program for digital information. He also served as the NSA's senior technical director.
As a result, he's been sought after by a multitude of media outlets, like PBS.
Concerning the collection of data by federal agencies mentioned by Binney, Washington's Blog added that:
"By way of background, the government is spying on virtually everything we do."
"hide that from defense attorneys and judges."

The concept of Parallel Construction should scare everyone.
My intuition tells me I've worked on cases where this has happened. Nothing I can put my finger on precisely, but things that just seem to add up.

The horrid part of it is "they", meaning law enforcement, see NOTHING wrong with it.

So...why not just routinely search all the houses in the neighborhood without warrants? Then we know who to target for "legal" investigations to follow once we know what the illegal searches uncovered. Just scary.

I learned while working as a prosecutor that cops routinely lie and violate the law in the performance of their duties. They would brag to me about it. They were always shocked when I didn't support their actions. The most despicable thing a cop ever told me was how they get away with beating up people. The whole time they're putting on the beatdown they'll tell the person, "Stop resisting" when they're not. The witnesses to the beating then come to believe that the person is resisting and the police will stop beating the person if he stops resisting.

That's how both the cops that beat Rodney King and Kelly Thomas got away with it.

I hired a former prosecutor a few years ago who said he did the SAME thing (lied) in open court when a deputy subdued a defendant. The court reporter was still taking down what was being said as multiple deputies converged and took their shots. Meanwhile the former prosecutor told me he walked up to the court reporter and started saying, "stop resisting" etc. He was bragging to me about how he was helping to create a false record against the defendant. He didn't get why I told him he was a POS. In fact he said it was common practice to pad the record if deputies placed hands on defendants.

Humans don't handle power over others very well. They will lie and break the law to obtain and retain it, and will do the same when they exercise it.

The former prosecutor who you hired told the court reporter that?

I think the moment I heard him say that then I'd say, "You're fired. I don't want someone with your lack of ethics working for me."

There is hardly any difference in philosophy between the former "German Democratic Republic" opening letters and packages before they are delivered to their recipints and this stuff. I would argue that this is even more insidious because we are too plugged in.

The NSA knows who we call what we say, who we e-mail and the contents of these e-mails, what we view online, what we're watching on TV, what we're posting on social media, how hot / cold our houses are (Google just bought NEST), I'm sure I'm missing a few things but you get the point. The Stasi has nothing on our NSA and this administration.

Combine the above data mining with the news that I posted about Raytheon (RIOT software) about a year ago and, voila, here we have the future crimes.

He did get fired...it was that along with other things. What struck me the most was how easily it rolled off his tongue when he said it. Kind of like it's OK to do things like that if you are dealing with "criminals". At least his mind set was like a cop's.
