Norvell wants the job the only question is if FSU really wants him. Something is in motion because a stage has been put up in the Champions Club for an announcement.
Sometimes you take the head cheerleader to prom, but usually you take the geeky band chick because you know she's a sure thing. FSU would be wise to take the sure thing, the head cheerleader would just laugh at them in the middle of the cafeteria.

I liked the idea of Norvell two years ago for the Gators....and he hasn't fallen in the two years since.....he is quiet smart and excels with athletes which he would get more of and better ones coaching in Florida. He loves to pass and score boku points, and would be hip and cool with the kiddos considering he was white chocolate playing wide receiver with corn rows dreads, haha.

He may not be the flashy hire but he could be our Mullen. People forget, you have to hire the right coach at the right time, the right coach for that team and situation. I think Mullen was that for gators..... Hope we find our guy and not a shark humper
Norvell is a good offensive coach but could care less about the defensive side of the ball. He’s also never coached in a P5 conference before. Would be a bit of a risky hire IMO but not sure there are a heck of a lot of good choices out there.
There is also of course the rumored red flags that surround him.

Honestly I don’t think you can do worse than Willie but I do think Norvell has a lot of risks too. I would be surprised if that is who FSU hired.

What non P5 coach has put up exceptional defensive stats?
He has personally tried to recruit defensive players. It just isn't as simple as stated. He went out and hired an improved DC. The best his budget would allow.
So how does "he care less about defense"?
Honestly I'd rather not hype him. I'd hate to see him leave Memphis and I'd especially hate to see him improve FSU.
So yeah he sucks horribly. He hates defense. He hates special teams...especially the kick return aspect of the game. He even hates offense. Honestly he hates coaching and football. You Nole fans would be down right ignorant to get him. He sucks so bad.

The same year of this supposed "casino debt" is the same time frame he built a lake home in the Arkansas Ozark.

Don't know much about him but he's done a good job at Memphis. At least they are talked about. Always hard to determine how a coach will do moving up to a bigger school.
