I see J. Taylor is leaving also. He really made huge strides from last season where quick DEs gave him fits. Sounds like the Scouts love him and he will be a 1st rounder.

Do we have a list yet of all the possible early losses to the draft?

Polite and Scarlett will likely go. I really hope Perine and Van Jefferson stay.

Yep Scarlett probably doesn't improve his stock by staying and could lose some carries. I kind of think Van Jefferson has nothing to gain by staying either. I would be surprised if Perine declared.

So Scarlett and Joseph are leaving also it appears. Bad choice by Joseph who I think could have improved his standing in the draft a lot by staying.

Joseph is silly for leaving but can’t say I’m mad he is. He was easily our most undisciplined player on defense. Almost any time we got gashed with a big run or busted a coverage in the middle of the field you could point to him being the direct cause. Like for example against UGA where he lost the TE three straight plays before the half. Very athletic but almost no football IQ. Not surprised he’s making a bad decision either.

Looks like we will be replacing 6 or 7 starters on offense and 3 starters on defense depending on what Van Jefferson does. 4 of those starters are O linemen so maybe with what they were able to do with those guys this season it won't be a huge dropoff but those Tackles will be hard to replace..

I don’t see any way the oline doesn’t take a huge step back, at least at the start of the year. We don’t have any true tackles on the team. Forsyth was the backup LT and he should be a guard, his feet are about on par with Johnson and he was barely athletic enough to play guard.

Dan has done a tremendous job at addressing this in last years class and this years. But Chump depleted the OL (even though he wanted power running) and Mac further depleted it AND had a non-existent strength program. Guys like Fever will bash Mullen next year but he is fixing a problem that is almost a decade in the making. And doing a great job of fixing it.

Will be really surprised if he goes 1st round....good for him if he does.

I will never understand how these coaches don't address the most important group on the team. It takes years to develop that position and they all have to work together. Chump and Mac killed us in that area.

That guy was a good hitter, physical player but always out of position and got burnt almost every game.

Yep Forsythe struggled with speed pretty bad in that 2017 FSU game at Tackle.

The run blocking also improved greatly with team rushing totals of 2,500+ yds.

Coaching vs Players. This relates to the questions about UF's 2019 OL.
UF losses 4 of 5 OL starters. I consider this addition by subtraction. ;)

"Under the direction of co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach John Hevesy, Florida shot up 98 spots in the national rankings from 2017 to 2018 by giving up just 18 sacks in 13 games. A year ago, quarterback Feleipe Franks was harassed early and often (and, granted, also ran out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage for a few sacks) to the tune of 37 total sacks in just 11 games. That was a massive improvement on offense."

E #2 OG Deyavie Hammond 6-4 345 **** - chose UF over UA, UGly

E #7 OC Kingsley Eguakun 6-3 293 *** EE - Miami flip, chose UF orver AU.

E #11 OG Ethan White 6-5 340 **** EE- chose UF over 8 other schools

247 #12 OG Deyavie Hammond 6-3 353 **** - chose UF over UA and a long list

R #13 OG Will Harrod 6-6 305 **** EE - chose UF over a long list of big time offers

All 7 are 290+ already, and 5 EE's will have 8 months in the Savage Strength & Conditioning program before Sept 2019

Now add in those that are returning with a year under Savage and Hevesy...

59. OC/OG T.J. McCoy 6-1 305 rsSr - (Remington W-List)
66. OC/OG Nick Buchanan 6-3 291 rsSr
71. OG/OC Nick Villano 6-3 290 rsSr - (former W-O,)

76. LT Richard Gouraige 6-4 303 rsFr ?

I don't see a drop-off in the coming OL, I see a good possibility of an even better OL.

I wont bash him about the O line as I think Mac didn't get top notch SEC talent there overall even though Taylor ended up being real good his last season. Banks and Bleich will probably start this season but like said elsewhere I think our Tackle situation will be iffy at first unless Banks is the real deal.

The good thing is I think our interior will be really good. Buchanan is a lock at center and then Heggie will be a beast at guard if he can stay healthy. Bleich on the interior should man the other guard spot too. It’s just the tackles and that’s why I wanted Taylor to come back so bad. If we could have had him and moved him to LT we’d only have one spot to really fill.
