Quality beats quantity. When I played, in the "leather helmet" days, we won 4 State football titles my Freshman through Senior years. We were always outnumbered, but had better players in our starting line up. Our O-Line was instrumental in our offensive success. I understand that 10 guys will be less tired than 5 who have to play the whole game, however, if those 10 aren't able to protect the QB's and open holes for the backs, it's hard to win. As far as math goes, the team with the most points win the game, as opposed to the team with the greatest quantity of O-Linemen being the determining factor. Look forward to your rebuttal!

Helmets of any kind were not made mandatory in college until 1939.
Plastic helmets were first invented and patented in 1940, but it took several years to prefect them.
Face bars for the helmet came in 1955.

As nothing but a general rule, 1950 (post WWII) is considered by most as the 'modern ear' for college football.
There is no hard and fast year, so anyone can argue for their own point of view on it.

I’m basing my points off what I’ve seen on the field and in recruiting the last 2 years and projections moving forward. The quality of talent that is being recruited to Athens is at an all time high. Compare that to the average/above average recruiting UF is doing, considering you dominated us when you were recruiting at our current level, I’d say we’re in pretty good shape.

Your goalposts for what constitutes quality keeps moving. Now it’s who was emphasized...something that’s impossible to know unless you have access to the coaches board. There are 5-star kids who couldn’t commit to a Bama or Clemson right now while both have taken 3-star kids. But you’d be making fun of those 3-star kids even though the coaches obviously prefer them more. Hell Clemson just turned away a 5-star recruit for example. And why exactly would you posting a pic of one of our recruits offend me? He’s one of the lower rated kids and an obvious project. And 1 of 7. If he doesn’t work out no harm no foul, which only proves the point even more that quantity is just as important as quality...more chances to hit on a recruit. It’s all a guessing game. You act like he was the bellcow of the oline class. Your starting center this past year was a converted 3-star DT. By your standards he wasn’t worthy yet somehow he anchored the best oline ever.
