Kirby has a Pro prospect playing QB in 2020. Dan Mullen can't say that.
Huh? For real? I’m about ready to run you just because based on all your posts so far I’m wondering if you have anything going on upstairs at all????? I’m not sure what that has to do with anything to begin with. Many people probably didn’t think Dak Prescott or Alex Smith were pro prospects either at one time. Don’t be so ignorant. Who has developed in Kirby Smart’s offense? We’ve seen Fromm regress from Chaney to Coley.

Where's IraqDoggie at? He swore up and down that UGa had everybody coming back and was guaranteed elite status next year. Interested to see if he still feels that way. At least 7 starters gone from the offense, and what, 4 or 5 gone from the defense? Lotta turnover...
I took his place turd. Bring it.[/QUOTE]

Awww. He got banned before I could obliterate him. Oh well.

Edit: I see this guy did not know how to properly post a quote. Much like Shime/Laker/Buca. Interesting.

Maybe you should look at this mock draft from NFL-draftsite for 2021.

Trask 1st round - 29th overall.
Newman 6th round - 189th overall.

Tell us some more about this awesome transfer of yours and his amazing pro potential.

Just as a reminder, against the only decent defense he faced all year:

6-14, 41 yards, 2 int.

Get used to that stat line, you are going to see similar ones next year.

Wait......are they really trying to say the guy that couldnt hack it at Wake Forest is going to make it in the NFL? I thought they were confused and thinking Fromm was coming back LOL

No, Gwinnet is trying to sell us that Newman is a top pro prospect. He found some ridiculously inaccurate website that shows that Newman would be the 12th best QB in the draft if he came out this year. I'm not reposting it, but it's in his post above.

Look what they wrote about him:

"His deep-ball touch is outstanding, and he already knows how to throw receivers open in tight coverage. His limitations as a passer were exposed, though, against Clemson when he went 6-of-14 for 41 yards with two picks. Going to an offense that will utilize his rushing ability will be key."

What a pile of gob. If you have "an outstanding deep ball" and "can throw WR's open", how do you also have so many limitations as a passer that you crap your pants against Clemson to that level? Also, he is going to the worst possible place to "utilize his skill as a rusher".

All I know is, Fields threw for over 300 yards and Burrows threw for over 450 yards. THAT'S what future pro QB's did against Clemson. Newman is going to face several defenses at or near Clemson's caliber, plus he's behind a line with 4 new starters, has a new RB, and his best WR (and only has one returning that's worth a crap) and TE are gone. And, instead of Georgia fans seeing reality that THIS IS GOING TO BE A PROBLEM, they are trying to sell us that they are fantastic and poised for a huge year. It's just, well, silly.

I’m not trying to convince you of anything. But the fact you don’t know what PFF is says a lot. It’s more directed at your laughable comment that Trask is a Heisman candidate. You guys throw a round a lot of stuff here but that’s one of the better lines I’ve heard.

As I showed you. 16-1 odds. That's a viable candidate. Sorry if you are too stupid to realize this.

The idea that you would swallow Newman as a pro prospect when he obviously is nowhere near the talent, yet Trask, who is getting recognition as a heisman candidate, is laughable for us to consider a heisman candidate, just shows how lost and delusional you are.

Trask is a candidate, accept the reality.

I know what PFF is. It's a website with no clue how bad Newman is.

But you have nothing to worry about. He will likely get beat out by a true freshman anyway. Then you can ignore him and talk about how great the true freshman is going to be. Next year. Because you guys are SO YOUNG this year.

I'm sure MSN is a giant in college football evaluations. MSN? Yu know who else is 16-1 odds? Myles Brennan. The backup at LSU that has never played. C'mon. man. Trask stepped in and did a great job, He was better than Franks. But do not try to convince anyone other than yourselves he is a legit Heisman contender. That's just silly.

His Heisman odds are on par with Newman’s NFL draft odds. You’re both inflating your guys due to homerism. Newman sucks. Being able to escape the pocket doesn’t make you a good QB. And Trask’s inconsistency and poor deep throwing threat limits him. A better discussion between your fan bases would be which QB has the edge next season. UGA has been recruiting lights out so there is plenty of talent around Newman but UF has a coach with a track record of developing undervalued QBs and game planning to strengths.

So we have two camps here:

1 - Florida fans who think Trask, who did DO WELL in 2019, will do even better in 2020 and make himself a Heisman candidate

2 - Georgia fans who thinik the guy who quit at a lower tier ACC school cause he sucked, will come to Georgia and play so lights out in 2020 that he will be drafted in the NFL in 2021.

Pretty obvious which fanbase is being more realistic, and which one is being more homeriffic.

And it is abundantly clear who is the nutsucker that has no business in the discussion no matter what the talking points are. But bobbi gonna bobi.

I'm not interested in Newman's NFL prospects. I'm only interested in his ability to help Georgia in 2020. You all can throw whatever dispersions at him you want. Fact is he was playing on a weak team and no supporting cast, but that's all on him? Is Mac Jones just so good that it didn't matter that he had 4 NFL WRs to throw to? The only reason I weighed in here was because of the ridiculous statement about the UF QB being a legitimate Heisman contender. Hell, Zamir White is rated higher than Trask, and there is no way he is coming close to winning it.

Definitely a leap of faith in both camps but like you pointed out at least there is proof on the field and sidelines for UF. UGA is doing a lot of hoping the talent around Newman will be sufficient. Even though Fromm’s surrounding talent is better than what Newman’s will be and couple the hope that the new OC will deliver some spark.

Come on guys. It's the offseason. Let the dawgs be to cook their meth and shop for the new sprinig Jorts this season. Can we just let this all rest at least until spring practice when the UGLY fans grow bold enough to boast that yet again, this will be the year they can win the superbowl?

Whether or not Trask is a Heisman candidate really doesn’t matter much IMO. We all know Mullen can develop QBs. That’s all that really matters.

Good QBs elevate those around them, so the supporting cast argument is weak. Reminds me years ago of when people loved Jake Locker as a pro prospect even though his accuracy was garbage at Washington. Bad accuracy is bad accuracy, it doesn’t magically go away with better players.

Did I say Heisman contender? It's Lawrence's to lose. I said CANDIDATE. Get a clue.

Georgia has been RECRUITING lights out but between the early NFL entrants and the exodus through the transfer portal, how much talent do they actually have on the roster?

Trask IS a Heisman candidate. At this stage, if you have Vegas odds, you are a candidate. Everyone who is not a candidate is "the field". If there were a formal process, like the Outland Trophy, which creates a watch list, it would be different. But this is what we have.

Georgia has been RECRUITING lights out but between the early NFL entrants and the exodus through the transfer portal, how much talent do they actually have on the roster?

And whatever talent they have will regress the longer it is coached by Kirbs. Which made the Georgia homer twisting his nipples over a quitter from the ACC saving Georgia even more hilarious.

Mullen has a Heisman trophy candidate playing QB for him in 2020. Shart can't say that.
Well...........ok. To whom will he be throwing too? W/o Jefferson and Chase Joe Burrows doesn't win the Heisman. Who will be Fla's Jefferson and Chase?
Anyone notice something here? The dawgs are all gushing about this Wake Forest quitter saving the 2020 season for Georgia, but none of them are asking the most obvious question:

How is it that Kirby has signed 4 straight #1 classes, and doesn't have a QB that can play? I mean Kirbs has signed FOUR QBs in the last 3 classes.....and still has no QB talent for the 2020 season and has to go to the transfer portal.

That's a big problem.
Well, three short seasons ago Kirby had three 5-Star QBs on his roster. Eason entered the portal after the 2017 season and Fields after the 2018 campaign. Not exactly all Kirby's fault. Smart wasn't actively recruiting a 2019 QB until the season's end when Fields suddenly entered the portal.

Kirby subsequently flipped Ohio St commit Dwan Mathis but his development hit a set-back after brain surgery this past spring and has yet to be cleared to play. Fromm then decides to enter the 2020 draft leaving only true freshman Carson Beck who did enroll early as the only healthy QB on the roster heading into spring.

Newman gives the Dawgs DT talent and more importantly experience entering the 2020 season. Beck will back up. ***** Brock Vandagriff looking good for 2021.

Lol, Burrows and Fields were surrounded by talent....Newman not so much....seriously?

So much talent that Pat Forde just ranked us number 2 going into next season. Stop doing this to yourselves every year. We have tons of talent with Kirby running the show, and that’s not going to change.

Stop doing this to ourselves? We aren’t the ones that haven’t won a title in 40 years. Shouldn’t you be saying that about yourself? Your the one coming to this board proclaiming you are going to win national titles. Wait until next year? Hasn’t that kind of been the UGA motto??

Whenever one is in the natty conversation on a yearly basis.....one may do that.

Georgia fans are suddenly propping up Pat Forde and PFF as geniuses cause they said something nice about Georgia.

This tells me this will be Kirbs last season.
That Rose Bowl win and the recruiting titles have bought him at least two more seasons. He’ll be gone by 2023ish. As long as they can stay in the conversation they’re happy enough.
