Leghumpers - Gators...

We had almost no chance to win this game, so not surprised we lost. Great teams are predicated by great defenses. This offense is a great fit with a solid defense, which we don't have and will never have with Grantham. And don't tell me "oh the defense played well". Georgia came in with a conservative game plan on offense designed to let their defense win it, and that's exactly what happened. If Georgia had come in with the idea they were going to score 50, they would have scored 50.

We met the only real goal I had for this game. To score. And barely managed that.
Georgia's offense is pedestrian at best. We just don't have a defense, and haven't since Grantham hit town. Sometimes the defense has to step up. We haven't had that kind of defense in years, even when we had a popgun popcorn offense, we still could win games like this. No longer happening with the likes of Grantham. This game was lost in less than a span of 2 minutes at the end of the first half.......starting with a dumbass DB not just killing a drive by falling in the end zone on a flutterball INT. That is stupid, undisciplined play, just like the thrown shoe last year. It was OVER after that. Could have started the 2nd half down 3-0 and getting the kickoff. It just spiraled downhill after that. That's on coaching. Defensive coaching to be exact. I never expected to win this game with this defense but it was all there in grasp until that series of events happened.

Bennett had a bad game. The O is good to pretty good. I thought we’d see Daniels especially after we had it put away. But for Georgia to win it all, the O needs to improve. All those injured WR are starting to get better, so we will see.

Mullen was asked about the talent gap between Georgia and Florida. He pointed to the Gators’ win in the Cocktail Party last year to defend this year’s loss:

He doesn't like questions like that. Can you imagine if he said we were equal yardage wise when asked about coaching after this game.

He may not like certain questions.....and he could get away with dismissive answers early in his employment or after wins.

But neither are valid now. He knows the fans and even boosters are wanting more than cheap soundbites at this critical juncture. He has nobody to blame but himself if these answers causes more pressure on him. He's been in this profession long enough to know what not to do.

He better hope the team hangs in there so SC doesn't somehow pull a shocker.

I'm sorry, what is Mullen supposed to say when asked that question?

Perhaps talk about what they need to do, even differently, regarding the toilet bowl recruiting(which on one report is #32).

Perhaps, admit that they need to re-evaluate how they evaluate.....since Mullen said he's always evaluating(yet claimed his stance on certain people don't change).

From article

The Gators have dropped 7 of 9 games against Power 5 competition, beating rebuilding Tennessee and SEC doormat Vanderbilt.

Top recruits choose winning programs, digging the Gators’ hole deeper.

Smart knows the score.

“There’s no coach out there that can outcoach recruiting,” he said. “I don’t care who you are, the best coach to ever play the game better be a good recruiter because no coaching is going to out....."

Well you're naive then.

bo coach is going to talk about their recruiting and evaluation process that way, especially after a game like that.

Believe what you want, but the fact remains that people across the country have criticized Mullen's answers for years, even after games. I'm not just talking about rivals either.

Even back at MSU it was a common occurance. It's almost a meme now.

I can't think of a single other coach that is anywhere close to being scrutinized for his habit of answering questions.

well sure I understand that. I'm just saying that I don't think you're going to find a coach who would answer that particular question the way you're suggesting. And I think it's for pretty obvious reasons.

Lane Kiffin

After a day reflecting, my take on Georgia is this. Their defense is first rate. They can win a game for you with little or no help. The offense is pedestrian at best.

Not Kiffin, please. He brings excitement to the offense, but long term is not the answer, IMO. Just don't like the guy. I have no idea who THE guy is, though.
I was just answering his question about other coaches and their PCs. I wasn’t petitioning for Kiffin to be our next head coach

I left before half time after I watched us give up 21 points in 2 minutes.

never in my life. I just stood there looking at the tv trying to understand what the hell I was watching.
Did you get a "To-Go" box at the concession stand? I know I would!

I thought Coach Bryant said it best many years ago:

“If anything goes bad, I did it. If anything goes semi-good, we did it. If anything goes really good, then you did it. That's all it takes to get people to win football games for you.”

LOL, love the rationalization after an ass kicking. What step is anger again?
Fetch me the post where I said we were any damn good, or that we had a chance in hell of beatin' y'all.

Go ahead on. I'll wait.

I'm going to screenshot this so when you don't win the national championship AGAIN you won't talk so much shit.

FTR, I wasn't angry when y'all beat us. I was expecting it, just not in that surreal fashion.

Now this South Carolina game, THAT made me angry.

Refresh my memory, how many of those teams was worth a shit? Clemson turned out to be garbage. And so did we.
When competing against us , none of them. Can I help it our defense virtually assures us of a victory? I guess it will all pan out in the playoffs and with our fore mentioned defense, I like our chances.

This has been such a crappy year, I wouldn't be surprised to have an UGAly NC cap it off.
