Stretching out a hearing for multiple years for the sole purpose of affecting an election was. Show me a set of hearings that were still going on more than 4 years after the incident and were then abandoned a month after the election if you want to prove me wrong.

None of those former subpoena’s were criminal investigations directly related to an attempted “overthrow of the government”, which carries the penalty of execution (treason).

Nixon was asked to testify as a part of an impeachment proceeding, which is bi partisan. Ford was defending a pardon, which is in and of itself an admission the person you’re pardoning is guilty. It was a formality. The others were similar issues surrounding issues like distribution of funding.

If you don’t see the danger in allowing hyper partisan kangaroo courts to try to get presidents and former presidents to incriminate themselves with penalty of death you’d love North Korea.

This is unprecedented and a violation of the separation of powers.
