Interesting theory: If Pres Trump is appointed to a 2nd term by mechanism other than EC, does Constitution say he can have a 3rd term?

I think Trump would lean back to GW and his initial decision on this . He won't use a loophole to create a new precedent. He will honor the belief that presidents should not exceed 2 terms for the same primary reason Washington did. Americans don't wish to feel as if they're ruled under the "DOMINION" of a king.

I agree with this, now if we can get term limits for congress and senate then that would be ideal

On the other hand...

A real argument could be made that he's effectively 'lost' his first term due to the ongoing coup attempt. If it turns out that the left has actually been doing all the evil things we think they have, there will be a lot of people feeling that he deserves a do-over on his first term.

If he wants it.
