Thomas said in previous cases that since the SC is the only venue for state v state cases, that it has an obligation to hear such cases.

If so, we start out with 2 judges in favor of hearing the Texas case with them needing just 2 of the remaining 7 to agree.

The vote to take the case should be 9-0. They might try to play politics with the ruling but the case's merits are clear in Article II. Then again the case itself is as well.
