DT's mostly take up the OL blockers so that the LB's can then fill the gaps and make the tackles, so saying that a DT didn't contribute solely on his number of tackles shows me exactly how smart/informed you are. 
Now, the Gators don't have a single decent quality DT. And they have none with any real quality game experience. The few DT chumps that are on the roster are all inexperience, undersized DE's, and no talent 2-3 stars. And since they need 6-8 DT's that are all 310+ 4-5 star recruits with 2-3 years of 1st team starting experience for the defense to be any good at all, they are toast for 2017.
PS -- The Gator D-coaches are all clueless chumps too, they have already proven that they can't recruit or coach...
