You can’t overbill as easily when doing house calls. And doctors of today have become more lazy then ever before (Covid has actually become a blessing for them from a billing perspective). They hide behind PA’s and NPs and have them do much of the dirty work on office visits or hospital rounds. The MD pops their head in to make verbal contact with the patient the PA/NP is taking care so they can start working on their billing checklist. If you ever could see some of the billing documents, and the descriptions used for the charges, it would make you sick and never trust a MD again. Same for expense reports of what they try to claim as an “business expense” or charges they try to push through. The greed is sickening.
