Gecko's rest of season prognostication

LDR was showing that he could not throw downfield accurately. We needed some play action passes and some shorter throws to move the chains and give the defense some rest.

That was a POS performance by any standard.

If you threw up on the side walk...that would be equal to what we put on the field. It's gross as hell.

My one cravat' on the Gator coaching staff seems to be making the rounds,,, finally.

Thanks for the correct info, I was going off memory and wasn't sure, that's why I put in the (?) behind Granny Clampit.
I went back and fixed it for them... ;)

So, the only games that the lamecocks have ever won against the Gators was when SOS was their HBC, but now he's back at UF's as an Ambassador.

I am still predicting a ROAD LOSS to LSU.

What about you guys?

I am 3-0 so far for W/L.

we have no chance we might as well be furman, even if we had a chance the usual reffage would show up treating us worse than alcorn state with any positive that happens... no one will ever do anything about the officials for the University of Florida. Now Muschamp and Meyer all the sudden got their teams acts cleaned up entirely with penalties because they are no longer wearing orange and blue. It's a travesty

We are going to lose to LSU and FSU.

No Atlanta.

Outback versus Iowa....HOW EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Always a chance, last Saturday around the nation is proof of that.

The Gators will need a +3 on TO's, and a +3 on big plays to win it I'm thinking.

If both teams have an average game,,,, then it's more than likely a loss for the good guys.
So as always, we'll see,,, ---------- but GoooooooooooGATORS!

Of course we have a puncher's chance against LSU, but I have ZERO confidence that even if we get an early lead (wishful thinking), that we can hold onto it.

The injuries, producing the apparent lack of depth on both sides of the ball may result in that.

and we would lose to them exactly how Michigan did and about the same score in big ten fashion with a big ten QB and our defense full of draftees giving up on treon levels again..

as for the LSU game, Florida can never win any game we don't start great and play with a lead throughout, any close game and we lose 100000 percent of the time... and seeing how it's literally impossible for us to blow lsu out or lead the entire game. No way, even if it's close. UT is the only team we can beat in a close game over the years, any game that's close we end up on espn classic.

You are LARGELY correct...but your superlatives fail you.

Last year's Tennessee game, for example...

And a close game needing a FG and we'd have an Eddy chance for a win. ;)

I'd love for it to come down to a 65 yard Eddy FG with him hitting it for a last second win, for a Miles style take-away Gator win. They'd whine for months about that, for Mc letting Eddy play. :D

except when we are the underdog we don't get any help like others do, we still get treated like new mexico state... hell we get treated like that when playing new mexico states AT HOME in night games lmfao. We will never have anything but bullshit officiating dragging our already awful offense and teams down. Just look at the LSU game last year, we get a fumble that didn't count and Fournette was allowed to just punch our guys mid play and it's just FINE. We get our WR thompson clearly targeted and literally knocked out of the game, next game he touches a player and is ejected immediately for making a good special teams tackle. Then in the SAME HALF have a TD on a return called back for our player getting TACKLED to the GROUND by the same guy they called a hold FOR. It's pathetic and it will NEVER end, we get treated worse than vandy playing at Bama or auburn.. we have to play perfect to beat teams and even then shit gets called back three times a game at least even when playing North Texas, two games in a ROW, we get a player ejected for doing absolutely nothing when even then they should have been retaliating for a high school team cheap shotting our starting qb out of the game with no penalty no problem at all, you can do whatever you want against Florida. Like tackle our players all day like Arky did and I called the injuries well before they happened with the debauchery of the officials letting it go all day. Their 2nd TD that tackle on harris was as pathetic as you will ever see. Their lineman hog tied hi on the sideline to spring the play. Not only does it give our guys NO chance to win or compete when it's happening, the officials are getting the kids HURT out there... I have had to call it out every single game for years and years after years. Even against Vandy last year i posted multiple instances when they called us for bullshit like the targeting on the last drive of the game to keep their drive going because they couldn't do anything themselves from like 3rd and 24 and then the spot they gave vandy for a big first down when I took the picture he was TWO CLEAR yards short of the first down spot they magically and generously gave them. I can't be the only one spotting this shit game after game year after year...

Cot damn Numbers use the space button!

As for our game against LSU...objectively we don't have much favoring us. From a style standpoint they match up with us real good. Elite secondary, great d-line, and fast linebackers which I think is gonna swallow up our offense. And then they got the running game to wear our defense down. For us to win we gotta score on special teams or defense, likely both. Good thing is their QB isn't that great but we gotta sell out to stop the run so they'll have 1-on-1 all night if they want it. Eventually they'll hit some big plays.

I just said UT is like the only team we beat in close games, lately it has been Vandy but the games were not really as close as the score because of turnovers and more of the ref nonsense like the first TD they took from us last year against them.

Over the years just think about all the close losses, pretty much ALL the auburn losses, Ole Miss, Miss State all the west cross over teams we lose to. LSU especially with fakes and 4th downs... Go back over the last 15 years or even back to 99, the epic do anything it took to lose to Bama in the Swamp in 99. We had the lead with like 2 minutes left, made them punt, muff the punt, let them tie it immediately, miss the extra point in OT, they miss, we get called for offside, they miss it again but it was called good.

Same year the way we lost to FSU in the Swamp on Senior day the year they won it all and were #1 and went wire to wire, Bennie Alexander runs that INT back for a TD off of Chris Weinke, we did nothing on offense the rest of the game and doug johnson goes into a shell mode, then heave a Hail Mary on the last snap of the game into the endzone that landed just out of the outstretched arms of travis taylor...

The UT OT game in 98 with Cooper hooking the FG to lose... 96 to FSU after botching the first half and getting down like 17-3 coming all the way back to lose 24-21... Auburn in 93-94, 2001, one of the close games we won was the very next year in the swamp where we almost lost 3 consecutive games to drop out of the rankings for the first time in years and zook played prevent and lost a 2 or 3 score lead and let them get two 2 point conversions then duval hit a 2 iron into our lineman missing the game winning FG from like 24 yards out and went into OT and win, almost had a coronary twice watching that game. The Miami choke in 03... we had another rare close comeback win that year a few weeks later in leaks first ever start against UK when we were down like 20-3 in the 2nd half, I was actually at this game in person and was on a visit as a Kentucky recruit for this game, which was crazy, I was sitting with future HC joker phillips during that one with a UK shirt on...

That same year the ref debauchery in the FSU game, the most fixed game iv'e ever witnessed in history. 2004 both UT and MSU games, was on the sideline of the opponent of that game, 2nd weirdest day of my life, the Bama game next year was the other... the 06 Auburn game with the blatant bham office reffery on Leaks "fumble"... the Auburn game the following year, the LSU game that same year along with bowl game against michigan after Tebow won the heisman... The ole miss game in 08... The MSU and LSU game in consecutive weeks in 2010, classic Gator close losses, 2011 the UGA, Auburn and south carolina games... 2012 the UGA game, pure Gator classic fumble into the endzone to go into attempting to tie the game...UGA, south carolina and Georgia Southern in 2013, especially the Ga southern game...

2014, Miami game, they are our other Auburn over the years, the UGA game, we lost 3 years in a row to them under Muschamp in the exact identical fashions... 2015, LSU, South Carolina especially, FSU...and LSU again last year, fake kick dooms us in along with many other hilariously wacky plays that benefitted LSU when it mattered most to close both halves. We are a very bad close game football team in my lifetime... I could go back further in the 90's under spurrier, like 92 Bama game, I was there for that one as well, both FSU games in 93 and 94, my first Gator game was the 93 game in the Swamp with Dunn rolling down the sideline.

I hate to bring Muschamp up but....

ri4ryp.jpg

yea the most close games we won in my lifetime happened under muschamp and pretty much that whole year... That mizzou game wasn't really as close as the scoreboard and end made it though, the defense flat out shut them down the entire game but driskelitis...
