Feleipe Franks Officially Gator

What about Tolles from UK? He is transferring and graduates in December. Won't have to sit out a year. He would definitely be serviceable next year. He has a lot of tools...strong arm, runs well. He played behind a terrible line at kentucky.
Patrick Towles is not any good. He might be better than Harris but that isn't saying much.

After seeing his performance all year, what school would let Harris transfer to them???

You would be surprised. Fans of all schools tend to live in a box so we judge our guys more harshly than other people do. Did you know that Harris' QBR was higher than Jake Coker's as if the South Carolina game? It was. Yet we all think he's the worse ever and Coker gets praised nationally despite playing with a better supporting cast. People tend to lose perspective sometimes.

And yea we may not get both but who cares? Who would you rather have? The guy who saw two other QB's committed to a school and is still showing interest or the QB getting all pissy because another top QB is visiting. Not even committing, just visiting. I don't want a QB with that mentality. Idk if Eason is coming here or not but if Franks is that bent out of shape over a damn visit then get to stepping. I mean seriously, is Mac supposed to be like "nah bro I'm good, we're all set at QB over here you can't visit" or what? Meanwhile, Franks is still taking visits from Miles.

Coker gets praised nationally? Coker is one of the worst QBs Saban has had since he's been at Bama. Coker is not a very good QB. IBased on some things I have heard is that Harris doesn't even want to play QB anymore and he knows the best thing for him is to change positions.

This. I worry about Franks a little bit. I think he switched because he sees it as an easy run to 4 years as a starter. If that doesn't happen, is he a transfer risk? Just my thoughts.

You do realize Franks was visiting UF this weekend the same time Haskins was correct? Franks was even encouraging Haskins to come to UF. This has been blown out of proportion because of 1 guy at the AJC but at the same time you can't blow it and end up empty handed at the QB spot.

Not true. Hell he would have been a Gator a long time ago if Muschamp hadn't screwed things up with his brother that is now at UCF. McElwain has had to do a lot of damage control with the recruitment of Franks.

Eason came alone on his visit to UF anyways. No parents or anything. He isn't coming here. Not really sure why we wasted our time to be honest.

Good to know.

Just maybe the whole Franks is upset deal is blown out of proportion?

It sounds to me like he didn't really want to talk to the guy from SEC Country much anyways.

“Not good,” Franks told SEC Country. “I don’t have any other comments on that,” he said.

Yea but is pretty sure Franks wasn't concerned about Haskins because according to everything out there we were only taking 2 QB's and Franks had already committed to coaches on his last visit (according to some). So it's one thing to be cool with some other QB visiting when you already know the coaches won't take his commitment. Every single thing I've read has said the last QB spot was basically whoever committed first so Haskins was never a real threat to Franks.

I just think this whole thing is petty. I can't blame the writer on this one. There'd be no story if Franks had a different response. He's also apparently been retweeting stuff about being 'mistreated.' They had the screenshots up multiple places. And all that over a visit from another guy.

KT is gonna have over 1,000 yards this year. FWIW he's going pro.
If he does, look.for a Matt Jones similarity in t be draft. 4th to 5th round. Lack of elite speed hurts. Would be a good pick IMO

Now does staying help him ala Bullard if he gets better results?

Im sure he'll ask the NFL for his draft prediction.

Indeed.

In a similar fashion, it looks like USCe is about to hire Muschamp

From Spivey;

I just spoke to Felipe Franks' mom and she said that they did meet with LSU last night but that they will not visit anywhere this weekend. She says nothing has changed and that Franks is going to Florida and will visit the Gators next weekend. She said "the media is having fun with this" but nothing has or will change, we're going to Florida

Franks has already begun his enrollment process at UF since he's an EE

With 2 QB's that are 6-6 220 and totally acceptable to both Mc & Nuss, the cake is finished. IF they can get another like 6-5 220 Eason or a Haskins to come too for some icing on their QB cake, then that's fine with me too.
Not all will end up staying for an entire career, but that's par for the course at any Top D1.

Eason would be the 3rd early enrollee QB for 2016, so the next Spring game should be a whole lot of fun to watch. I'm predicting right now that it will be a record crowd that shows up to watch them in action at the 2016 Spring game. YEE- HAW !!! :D

Five star QB Jacob Eason will stay tonight in Gainesville again. Will leave #UF tomorrow morning

Lets hope not. We need to get out of this seemingly perpetual cycle of playing QB's before they're ready in shitty situations. 100k on the road for a first start? That has disaster written all over it. If he's gonna start they need to ease him in.
Why? Treon, as damaged goods that he is, led us to a win on the road as a freshman after the debacle of a first half led by JD. Poor analogy. Johnny Football made us look foolish in his first ever start. If Franks looks like the guy, start him.

LOL. That would be great if you think by just saying "take both top guys" means it's gonna happen. Not one person is saying that wouldn't be great. BUT We aren't going to get both Eason and Franks. Forget it! Mac just better not lose Franks by chasing after a kid that has never been on our radar until Richt got fired.
They ain't both coming here. Those days of stockpiling QBs is way over. They are not running backs where they can split time. There can only be one, and these kids know starting is crucial if they are NFL caliber whatsoever. They are not going to contemplate riding the pine or redshirting. It ain't gonna happen.

Two different situations though. First, a guy like Manziel was a redshirt freshman and I believe he EE too. Meaning he had at least two springs and two falls under his belt before having to play. Second, he also played in a QB friendly system where he wasn't asked to do much of anything. A&M went tempo and called everything from the sidelines, including audibles, he want making hardly any checks or reads. Third, he had his legs to rely on when things went bad, the guys we are recruiting can move but they're primarily pocket passers. We ask our QB's to make checks and stand in the pocket and make full field reads, not many true freshmen are ready for that. If you look around the country at most of the freshmen they're playing in QB friendly spread offenses. And in most cases, it's an offense they've been running for 4 years already, it's plug and play.

Some Facts, Stats, and Things to consider:

WR Brandon Powell says that it's wrong to judge Treon on just one big game. I agree. o_O

Heads up Brandon, over the last 4 games he has completed just 51.8% of his passes (58 of 112) for 670 yds, 3 TD's to 4 Ints, and 3 of those 4 games were against teams with losing records. Minus the decent SCa game (256 yds), he has not thrown for more than 158 yards in any of his last 5 starts.
That's not hating on Treon, that's just a factual report on his most recent job performance.

* IMO, those that constantly excuse Harris, did not give Driskel nearly that much slack.
Driskel was coming back from a broken leg with a 4-8 team.
Harris is healthy and coming back from a 7-5 bowl winning team.
Grier won't be available until the 2nd half of the 2016 season in game #7.

================

Looking forward to the start of the 2016 season.

Per Max-Preps - Best Ranking/Stars
Their HS team uses a Spread Option offense, hence they start the dual threat QB.

#31 Ath/QB-DT D'erig King 5-11 170 *** 5.7 - Manvel's Starter (TCU commit)
P -- 158 of 235 (67.2%) for 2,723 yds, 42 TD's, 4 Ints.
R -- 99 for 631 yds, 6.4 ypc, 8 TD's - 3 Fum's, 2 LPF's
#11 Ath/QB-DT 5-9 162 **** 82 - ESPN 203/300

#32 QB-PP Kyle Trask 6-6 218 *** 77 - Manvel's Primary Backup (UF commit, EE)
P - 44 of 61 (72.1%) for 748 yds, 10 TD's, 0 Ints.
R - 17 for 57 yds, 5.7 ypc, 1 TD - Zero Fumbles.
Gator OC Nussmeier says that Kyle is as good as any 5 star that he's seen this season.
Credit Kyle for showing loyalty to his team, instead of going elsewhere and starting.

-----------
#3 QB-DT Feleipi Franks 6-6 219 **** 6.0 (UF commit, EE) -
#4 QB-PP ESPN 59/300 **** 85

P - 115 of 201 (57.2%) for 2,347 yds, 30 TD's, 2 Ints.
R - 22 for 179 yds, 8.1 ypc, 4 TD's - ?? Fum's, 1 LPF
Trask and Franks should be good competition for each other, both with the talent to start.
--------------

#1 QB-PP J.Eason 6-5 207 ***** 6.1 - EE - 3.6 GPA
P - 235 of 338 (69.5%) for 3,585 yds, 43 TD's, 6 Ints
R- 42 for 70 yds, 1.7 ypc, 4 TD's - 2 Fum's, 1 LPF

Eason could hang with Trask and Franks, but I doubt that Haskins could.

#3 QB-PP Dwayne Haskins Jr 6-2 188 **** 5.9
P - 65 of 113 (57.5%) for 908 yds, 9 TD's, 2 Int's.
R - ??
--------------
QB-PP Jake Allen (2017 class UF verbal) - STA @ Ft. Lauderdale
P - 104 of 169 (61.5%) for 1,763 yds, 15 TD's, 5 Ints
R - 17 for -117 yds, -6.5 ypc, 0 TD's - 2 Fum's, 2 LPF's
It appears that he has a ways to go to start for UF. (OL? Team?? Other factors???)
