Who would have thought people would be so angry at Biden lowering gas prices. Trumpers just want to be miserable, I guess.

Still waiting on Capt Ron’s explanation. I’m honestly curious.

Damn, gas down to 2.14 at Shell. A full blown price war going on. Notice how quiet the Trumpers are now.

Math is not a long suit for you is it? $1.74 on Election Day. 2022 was record high electric bills for me.

Still longing for that Trump recession with 22 million unemployed, I see. Economics is clearly not your strong point. I’m not sure what is. If you cant handle low $2 gas prices, you need to drive a Prius.

Did you ever comprehend what metric units of measurement are? I noticed you disappeared after I showed how silly your “100 is a hard metric number” was.

PS. Nobody cares what your electric bill is I’m still paying less than .10/kwh

Joe Biden made the oil trade of the year

It worked.

Gas prices were a major story in 2022: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine roiled energy markets and some predicted the US dollar might be subsumed by a new, commodity-backed trade currency.

Instead, it appears the US government made the oil trade of the year: Releasing 180 million barrels of crude from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve between March and the end of this year in an effort to blunt the effect of rising prices, the US government appears to have made about $4 billion, as prices have fallen dramatically over the course of the year.

poor nail...he wants the US to lose money while lowering gas prices...

Or maybe he wants the POTUS to go and beg OPEC to raise gas prices like trump did?

So you're in favor of the POTUS begging a foreign country for higher gases prices (paid for by the American taxpayer) during a pandemic to save jobs in the oil & gas industry?

Watch it !!!
Sounds a lot like socialism or facism

Are you sure you were in favor of trump's actions?

Yes and no.

Yes, I was all for the increase because the O&G industry couldn't survive those oil prices. It was killing a large portion of our energy sector. Even @BSC911 will tell you as much.

No...because those low prices were manufactured by OPEC+ (mainly Saudi and Russia) to purposely destroy American oil production and specifically our fracking.

So yes, I wanted the price to go up some...but no, asking was stupid because the result was exactly what Russia and Saudi Arabia wanted...meaning the request was foolhardy...just like Biden's was.

Trump’s incredible 180 on OPEC, oil and free markets
By Matt Egan, CNN Business
Published 1:11 PM EDT, Fri April 3, 2020

Flash forward to 2020: Instead of slamming OPEC for artificially restraining production, Trump is urging the cartel to do just that.

And rather than calling for OPEC to be broken up, Trump is elevating the group’s status by encouraging it to stop the oil crash – one that threatens to set off a surge of bankruptcies and job losses in Texas and throughout America’s oil industry.

Trump is even attempting to broker an agreement between Saudi Arabia and Russia to end their devastating price war by massively cutting production. The president’s tweets on the subject Thursday helped US oil prices to spike 25% – their biggest one-day gain in history.

“It’s amazing to have Trump get in the middle of this,” Helima Croft, head of global commodity strategy at RBC Capital Markets, told CNN Business. “Think about the 180: For years, Trump hated collusion among the producers and wanted to get rid of OPEC.”

But trump got what he wanted....

Oil Nations, Prodded by Trump, Reach Deal to Slash Production
The deal will reduce output by 9.7 million barrels a day. While significant, the cut falls far short of what is needed to bring oil production in line with demand.

To save jobs, yes. Especially in the energy sector. How many times must I say so?

But trump got what he wanted....

Sort of and very slowly. That tapering completed in April of this year. Trump made the initial request in April of 2020.

The damage was done...and neither Russia or Saudi could sustain those prices and/or production for long. It was always a temporary move by both countries and OPEC+ in general to damage the American fracking industry by flooding the market. It worked...many went bankrupt and shuttered or were sold and shuttered by competitors.

Oh look..........both of our mental midgets want to credit lower gas prices to the lockdown of communist China and a stagnant US economy. If the leftist trolls were a billboard advertisement.....

Maybe enough times for you to realize what you're saying.

Should we beg foreign countries to manipulate market prices to help other sectors of the American economy compete?

I guess you only believe in free markets sometimes...

So when trump's attempt at artificially manipulating the price of oil ended what happened?

The word I'm thinking of starts with an "I"....

So the policies under trump didn't lead to the inflation conservatives have been blaming on Biden?

Oh FFS...... Inflation was near zero and gas was under 2 bucks........... 😂

So we should never do trade deals moving forward? Bold move, cotton.

Biden begged for more production. Yes, I agreed with his premise. No, I disagreed with the act for the exact same reason I disagreed with Trump.

That's called consistency btw, regardless of political affiliation...look it up.

Never argue with complete idiots. Outsiders won't know who the intelligent one is. The stupid one will wear you down and beat you with experience. 😂

Yeah slashing production since 2020 had nothing to do with prices...

😂🤣😂

You're a ridiculous person and I'm not about to waste my time continuing this conversation with you.

I literally lol'd at this one though. Well done...accidental or otherwise.

Failure doesn't start with an I.

It didn't work...as I've said a few times now. Good Lord Ray...TF is wrong with you?

yes trump's attempt at artificially keeping prices higher failed in your own estimation...damaged oil production in America

Are you now saying that had no effect on prices?

Our oil production was damaged by a combination of covid and opec+'s well timed influx while those industries were EXTREMELY vulnerable and by our current presidents publicly stated war on oil.

The frackers were vulnerable because they had huge debts coming due and things would have even been tight without opec+'s move.

And yes Ray, opec+ told Trump to F himself...but in kinder terms. They agreed but their terms didn't help us.

With Biden, they boldly said GFY because he's not someone that anyone respects save similarly cucked pant-wastes. Like Trudeau for example. Biden has an ally in Canada. 😂

GayRay is as big of a cuck as Trudeau or Macron. But his sexual tastes rest with Gillum. 😂

So the failure of oil companies under trump was caused by "our current president's war on oil"?
And those companies going out of business didn't hurt production leading to higher prices?

The frackers were vulnerable because they had huge debts coming due and things would have even been tight without opec+'s move.

So trump's plan decimated America's oil production at exactly the right time when the global economy reopened

Take a wild guess when all of the market manipulation was occurring?
trump's re-election campaign

He was too busy subsidizing farmers for his failed trade war and artificially manipulating oil prices to keep oil workers employed when markets didn't support their employment

Funny how conservatives don't talk about handouts for votes when it comes to trump 😎

Read better. You added "under Trump." I didn't have "under Trump" in my post.

You are a giant waste of time. You aren't a reasonable person, go away.

So the collapse of those "vunerable" oil companies that were saddled with debt & eventually shuttered or merged didn't happen under trump?

You're a confused little conservative believer aren't ya 🤣

So the collapse of those "vunerable" oil companies that were saddled with debt & eventually shuttered or merged didn't happen under trump?

Most of them closed under Trump, yes. The debt didn't necessarily occur then but that is when it came due.

Russia and Saudi Arabia saw an opportunity and took it. It was ruthless and effective.

You're a confused little conservative believer aren't ya 🤣

One of us clearly is confused. It's you, goofball.

You're wanting to blame Trump for the fracking companies issues, lol. That would be as stupid as me blaming Biden for it.

You'll notice that you are the only one making the stupid assumption here.

So the collapse of those "vunerable" oil companies that were saddled with debt...

You don't even know why the frackers had so much debt or why it was coming due during that time frame. I do. And nope, I'm not going to tell you.

Figure it out yourself. Do your homework. Once you've done that, you're going to understand one of the reasons I've laughed so hard at you ITT.

😂
