Here in MD, its really the only sporting goods store. My kids love it unfortunately. I tell them all the time when they are paying $60 to $70 for a sweat shirt or hoodie or sweat pants that if they shopped other places and didn't worry about name brands they could get 2 to 3 times what they are buying for the same price.
I may have spent well over $3,000 at Dicks just on my son's baseball and football gear alone each year for the time he was in middle and high school. The baseball bats and catchers gear, along with his catchers mitts, are definitely not cheap. The day he played his last baseball game and the day he graduated high school(the same day child support ended), it felt like, even to this day, I got a pay raise.
Back to crime, I wonder if Academy Sports has any stores located in crap hole cities like Baltimore, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
