Batteries cost more than the car

I am done. I truly hope you do not find out. But I am the only person on this board that I know of that have appraised, and bought and sold cars for a living for over 30 years...so TIFWIW.
i apprecieate your concern, if you truely feel the way you do, i would short Tesla..

One thing, son. I do not take advice off of ANYONE dumb enough to own an EV with over 40K on it. This actually explains SO MUCH about you. Do you have a wind charger...or do you charge it with energy from the sun? And just another little hint....try spell check. Everyone misspells words from time to time...however when MOST of your words are misspelled....you know.

If people actually shorted companies based on your logic, they and their money would soon part ways.

And I don't believe that ANYONE wants Tesla to fail. That's just your spin ITT because people aren't drinking the kool-aid....YET.

Why? I haven't seen anybody crapping on Tesla here. The issue is that Poopy Pants and Butt Boi Buttigigged are trying to put square pegs in round holes. EV's are not quite ready for prime time technology speaking. What if I tried to make you buy a 60 inch chip tv say 25 years ago for 10,000 dollars, and make you throw away your tube set Motorola which was working fine?

Today, those same giant screen tvs can be had for 500 bucks (or less), but not then.

Huh? if you think the technology is crap or isnt worth it, then i would suggest to either not invest or go against. otherwise youre just flapping your gums.

Crapping on today's progress with EV? Crapping on it ain't ready for prime time? Crapping on cutting the cord for gasoline engines? Oy vey! Shitting on Brandon trying to fly without wings? You betcha! 😂

Crapping on the future potential of EV and the battery technology? Not so much. .

crapping on EV, its threatening to you guys for some very odd reason, but to the political everything is political...EV is the futrue, thats not debatable, its a far superior car, not debatable, espensive, some models are, getting better, damn skippy. if you can afford it its well well worth it.

Logic fail.

And I never said the tech was crap. I've gone out of my way to state otherwise. I said it isn't market ready.

I bet against companies that are poorly led. I don't believe Tesla is poorly led.

I love when people like you tell people like me how we really feel. 😂

Tesla is done because Elon is done. Once Elon came out in favor of free speech, started slamming Hiden, and admitted he voted for Trump, he was done. Every day there is a new rumor about him or a new federal investigation on the way.

Funny thing is, if you want to save Tesla, you better pull for Trump. Your dems will bury him and his company otherwise.

As that time approaches to replace the timing belt on our vehicle, it's a moment we all dread as the cost runs close or at $2k. So it's obvious I'd rather cough up 2k and replace the battery for about $200 on a non EV than having to waste $20,000 on a battery. Thankfully I have a timing chain on my truck which I don't have to replace any time soon.

Just in case anyone is wondering I AM crapping on EV's at the present time. They are NOWHERE NEAR what anyone is proclaiming them to be TODAY. 5 years at the soonest...more than likely 10

I do not make huge financial decisions on "MAY HAPPENS" I am much, MUCH smarter than that...especially when the people you are getting your info from have a HUGE financial agenda for you to believe what they are selling you. I have ran the sales department of the same Chevy Dealership for 35 years..it is my job to KNOW this stuff...not HOPE that something happens that I HOPE

So I've never been big into the tech behind TVs, but I will say this: Circa 2000 or maybe 2002 I was in a Circuit City (when did they go bankrupt?) and saw a flat panel TV that had such an amazing picture I stopped and watched it for like 10 mimutes with my mouth open. It was so crystal clear it didn't seem like you were watching a TV, it looked like 'real life' if that makes sense. I have never seen a TV since that had as good of a picture. I believe the price was a couple thosand.
That was likely a plasma with a demo disc being played. The signal is designed to show the best possible performance of the panel, and they usually do.

Those were all great TV’s, but plasma could never do 4k or 8k in a cost effective manner. OLED took over and is probably better.

But I still am blown away by my plasma in the bedroom on a daily basis. They look great - even today.

A Conneticut Transit electric bus caught fire Saturday in Hamden, Connecticut, according to fire officials. The Hamden Fire Department posted on its Facebook page, “Crews responded to an electric bus fire in the parking lot of the CT Transit Bus Depot on State Street this morning.”. “Lithium ion battery fires are difficult to extinguish due to the thermal chemical process that produces great heat and continually reignites,” the Hamden FD noted.

The incident caused no injuries. The bus burst into flames within seconds. This is what can be seen on the video that captured the very beginning of the fire of an electric vehicle of the RATP in Paris , this Friday, April 29. In the images, we can see a small explosion occur on the roof of the bus, where the batteries are located, followed by huge flames that spread to the entire body, at breakneck speed.

Failure of the battery may then be accompanied by the release of toxic gas, fire, jet flames, and explosion. This paper is devoted to reviewing the battery fire in battery EVs, hybrid EVs, and..

My Rover needed a $5500 engine repair because FoMoCo engineers know eff-all about materials in the timing system (every single engine made for 3 years had the same issue).

That's a few months of car payments on a Tesla, and 25% of what a battery costs.

I'll stick to my V8 for awhile longer.

Has anyone thought about where the road tax is going to come from? It Nationally averages approx. 24 cents per EVERY gallon of gas sold. So my guess is that it will be added to everyone's home power bill...which means we will be paying for MORE entitlements for below average libs AGAIN

I'm guessing vehicle registration but maybe a combination of both???

If it's market ready, why does the gov't need to subsidize the market through tax credits or rebates. If it' s market ready, why is Biden touting the billions passed through legislation to build thousands of charging stations in the future that don't exist now. If it's market ready, why does the Calif governor tell the people to refrain from charging your vehicle at certain times because the grid can't handle it. Just because 2 or 3 percent of current vehicles are EV's and a few people are buying them is not a great selling point for being market ready. So what effing planet do you live on?

Either they will use spyware which is the worst option or they will take your mileage down at the DMV and you will be taxed by the mile. They have already talked about mileage taxes. I don't like either option. Lets stick with gas.

Traded in my daughters Prius at 99,000 miles for a Ford Edge little bigger/safer for a new baby. Went back to Ford a few years later and they told me that the Prius died two weeks after I traded it in so they took it to auction.
Need to start mining the moon, asteroids, and Mars.
Where is Bruce Willis' team?

I think they have a different plan. Knowing how the left LOVES socialism...what better way to help THEIR voters out by adding these fees to your home power bill? That way, EVERYONE subsidizes their little BS project!
