He should have won his first year with Durant and Westbrook going full blast. They were up 3-1 against Golden State and up 13 in the fourth quarter!

But they can probably be very good in OKC for a long time. Team is young, except for Paul, they're already playing like a top-4 seed and they've got like 7 first round picks in the next two years.

Just enough to never get a top pick and that isn't a desired destination for the top stars. He would have to hit the lottery on some non lottery pick to ever win it all there probably (kind of like that player at Milwaukee) after that initial situation quickly changed.

sadgator has a better chance of having mrs. sadgator turn into a nymphomaniac than Florida does of having Billy return to coach the Gators...
Funny and true. Some have criticized Sadgator of late, so here's how to get him on your side!

They've had Westbrook, Durant, George and Hardin play there in the last 10 years. Durant was a top pick but Westbrook and Hardin weren't. Where did Giannis get picked, or Steph Curry or Draymond Green, or Klay Thompson, or Paul George, or Kawhi Leonard, etc... etc... The point of stockpiling first round picks is to give yourself a better chance at hitting a guy like that.

If OKC hits on one or two picks like that, or trades a handful of their No. 1s for a top guy and adds them to a team that already looks like its going to win 50, who knows what the ceiling is?

Let me put it this way: If you asked Billy Donovan right now if he agrees with you that OKC can't win a title in the next 5 years and that he should go back to college, do you think he would say yes?

Of course he wouldn't agree but I would say his chances now of winning a championship there in the next 3 or 4 years is not much better than me doing that looking at their roster and the likelihood they don't get any lottery picks

With last night's loss to Penn State, Miller is now 50-37 in his third season at IU. There are certainly worse coaches out there, but you guys could do better than Miller if it came to the point of making a coaching change.

Is it recruiting or just the coaching there you think?

The outside noise has started now as it was even asked to Mike White about it in his latest press conference. He’s not as in good shape as some of you think with the administration. Granted I do think he gets 1 more year.

Agree, don't dislike the guy. We'll see the way the night goes tonight but I can't understand how we're not trying to work the ball inside.

So far a typically very ugly game. Good thing we aren’t playing anybody decent tonight or we would be getting blown out.

Vandy is as bad as I thought they were....and uf isnt doing a whole lot better. That being said, I have a feeling UF will do better in the next half.

Lee Humphreys was the best 3 point shooter I've seen in college....doesnt hurt when you have a bunch of NFL stars around you but you still have to make it.

Well, they say any road win is a good win in the SEC..............8/....but if a positive statement was the intention for tonight, it missed the mark.

Better I should say. We finished, was up by 18, win by 6. It's a good win.

Better to win than to lose, but the inconsistency problem remains. When it got to a 5 point game, a 2 possession game at the end....

Vandy is still winless in the SEC and UF almost gave it away.

Well KY has their fans getting bent out of shape a little. A lot of predictions of a Sweet 16 loss over there now instead of the usual Final Four predictions. They get hot at times but are definitely a team we should have a good chance to beat at home. LSU is going to be hard to knock out of that 1st place spot with their start.

IMO UK is just an average team. The SEC in general is a little down IMO. Not really impressed with any team from the SEC at the moment.

Take the win, but for some reason, this team cannot put teams away. It is weird how they lay back with a lead..
To he honest that hasn’t been happening just this year. It has been a reoccurring theme under Mike White.

At least Locke finally got hot again. That was one positive.

buddy, they do it every game every year under White. It's infuriating.

SEC is way down this Year and that bothers me a little about making the tourney.

I’m squarely in the corner of UF needs to go in a different direction with the head coach (as I think he’s peaked) but I do think this team is capable of squeaking through to the tourney and then getting hot and making a run.

The roster and athletes are present, no question about it.

SEC won’t get as many teams in as usual this year... I’m not certain if 20 overall wins and 10 in conference will be good enough in 2020

Where have you been for the last 5 years?? This happens with every team White has coached.

We get a decent lead and then revert back to Nembhard dribbling in looking to pass to one person near the foul line while 3 other guys stand and watch. It is mind boggling. We need a quicker pace with more ball movement. Based on how crappy the conference is this year, I'm thinking we need to go 6-4 in these last 10 and get to 11-7. 2 against KY, 1 against LSU, and 1 at arky are the tough ones. At Georgia and at UT will be difficult. Man, it's going to be a squeaker to get in.

I don't get Blackshear a lot of the time. He settles for too many 3's and he takes way too long when he's working for a shot near the basket, often missing layups or short hooks. He's taken the 3rd most 3's on the team and is making only 31.7% and has 34 assists to 35 turnovers. Plus has more fouls than anybody on the team. He started off really good, but has not played up to the hype as the top grad transfer in the nation nor as pre-season SEC MVP.

We've seen players regress before under White. Nothing new here.

Blackshear is trying to impress NBA scouts (failing) rather than play to lead young team and contribute. Coach White coaches like Muschamp did - get a lead (3 points for CWM/8 points for CMW) and run clock. Basketball doesn’t work that way since shot clock negated 4 corner offense of UNC in ‘70’s. Mike White either is incapable of understanding his roster and associated limitations (poor shooting/young) or unwilling to adapt. I really believe he is channeling Hoosiers Coach Dale and is killing the spirit of this team. I love the idea of Coach Grant.

Suffered through watching the Vandy game a couple of nights ago. There is no doubt that this team has talent, in spite of themselves it sometimes shines through. However, there is way too much hot dogging, dribbling down on the opponent instead of ball movement. They don't seem to get serious about defense until they get their asses in a crack.

I forget which guard was doing this the whole game, trying to get street cred by dribbling around on Pippen Jr instead of attacking the defense. It was kind of humorous. Would not have been had they blown Vandy's losing streak.

In support of the status quo, some people on the webz have pointed out how many games UF has won in the last 5 years.

However, theres no hardware or banners for that.

Whether you like or dislike the coaching, the only thing that matters is where you end up.

True but the evidence is on the floor. Let's see where this team ends up...flashes of a good one but they aren't sustaining it.

So I guess that an Elite-8, SEC CoY Award in your 2nd season, after taking over a losing record team means nothing.... o_O -- ---

If winning championships is all that's important,,,,
then get a low-character coach that will cheat in every way possible. o_O
Get a HC that will draw in the free spirit party guys that only care about B-Ball,,,,
screw the academics, that's what tutors are for.
Then hire enough of the right kinds of lawyers that can keep them out of jail.
After all, winning championships really is ALL that's important when choosing a Gator HC...

BTW, IF Championships are all that's important, then why keep BillyD for 19 years???

He went 12 seasons without winning an SEC Tourney Championship.
He went 15 seasons without winning the SEC Regular Season Championship.
He also went 15 season without even making it to the Final-4.
And he went 17 of 19 seasons without winning a NC....

Remember, a 20+ win season doesn't mean squat.
Just like having rock solid high charter student/athletes doesn't mean squat,,,for BillyD or for Mike, not just for 3X CoY Mike. o_O

Really good debate points usually puts the dweebs to sleep....

While total BS usually puts me to sleep...
