6.6 million more unemployed

And you are a sheriff deputy in some Alabama hick town. Don’t act like you’re some deep thinker.

Nobody is coddling bad behavior. We’re talking about 40 million unemployed. Get a grip, deputy.

Compared to you, I am THE deep thinker.

Btw, Sheriff's Deputy's aren't Deputy's of towns, rather of counties. So if you were brighter your insult would have been to my county, not a city.

He earned his PHD and he is in fact a Dr by definition. Just stop while you're behind.

And yes, he previously stated that he wasn't a MD.
I don’t read every one of his posts, sorry.

And people with PhDs shouldnt call themself doctor unless they are medical doctors. Otherwise lawyers could call themself doctor.

Compared to nobody are you a deep thinker. You are paid to carry a gun and arrest bad guys, which doesn’t require a lot of brainpower. Which is why a college degree, or even any college at all, is not a prerequisite for the job.

It was in a reply to you...so you damn well should have.

No one GAS if you agree with calling PHD's doctors. They are. You are in the wrong. We all realize that you are incapable of admitting as much so relax.

They have a doctorate. That doesn’t mean they should call themself a doctor. There are many in law enforcement that may have a doctorate in criminal justice. I’ll bet they don’t go around calling themself a Dr. Smith.

Since you don’t have an advanced degree, like I do, you wouldn’t understand.

You should definitely give it a shot. You suck at thinking so you should be good at it, right?

This is career number 2 for me btw. And having my degree certainly helped me land my job.

Maybe, maybe not. What was your degree in? Which University?

LMAO, you can't be this stupid.

What is a doctorate? Maybe I can help?

Doctorate...from the Latin "doctoratus" which literally means "made a doctor."

You crack me up BSC...albeit unintentionally.

Yeah, really. My observation is that people in law enforcement tend to have a negative view of humanity, since they see the worst of it. I’m not sure how you correlate that to coddling criminals.

I'm sure some do. Some don't and if I ever get to that point, I'll retire for the second time.

In a 2011 article in the New York Times, Dr. Roland Goertz, who was then the board chair of the American Academy of Family Physicians, said that physicians were worried about losing control over the title of “doctor” because it could lead to loss of control over the medical profession itself. “There is real concern that the use of ‘doctor’ will not be clear to patients,” he told the newspaper.

In 2009, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario provided input to the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care about the use of the title “doctor.” One of the main concerns was that the lack of consistent requirements for professionals permitted to be called “doctor” would be confusing to the public. “Within a health care setting, the public typically associates the title ‘doctor’ with those who provide medical treatment and advice,” the letter states. “Identifying non-physician doctorates by the title ‘doctor’ may lead to misconceptions from the public that such individuals, when working in a health care setting, are able to offer medical treatment and advice.”

According to Kathryn Clarke, senior communications coordinator for the college, restricted titles are an essential public-protection component in regulating health professions. They help patients identify various health care professions, distinguish the qualified from the unqualified and differentiate practitioners who are regulated from those who aren’t.

Slaying faux intellectualism, haha.
Keep in mind, you are the one who started this with your air of intellectual superiority. I think it’s childish, especially on a football message board, but if you want to have a go at it, I’m game. I’ve already schooled fake Mr. Mensa @Sunburnt Indian

Let’s hear some indications of your intellectual superiority.

See above. I know what the technical definition is. I’m talking about the practical use of the title.

He who laughs last laughs hardest.

Well, I’m off to hit some golf balls. I’m sure I’ll see several examples of genius when I return.

Would you like to rethink? I say "yes."

This stiff proves it day in and day out. He won't let us forget.

A note to BamaFan1137: Getting through to BSC is completely beyond your and my reach.

What does the M before MD mean?

He's a doctor...get over it. He is not a MD because he is not a medical doctor. This is so stupid.

Keep in mind, you are the one who started this with your air of intellectual superiority.

Wrong...I gave you a dose of your own medicine and surprise, you didn't like it. Behave as you'd like others to and I'll do the same. When you put on airs, pretend to be superior to others while being a condescending prick, you should expect the same.

It sounds like you honestly have no idea that you're doing the above...which concerns me even more. But I promise to be at least as civil to you as you are to others.

I would think a guy that specializes in serial killers, as he indicated he does, would be one of the former.

The VAST majority of people are decent. We deal with a tiny minority in order to protect the decent. As long as you don't lose sight of that you can keep faith. If you can't, you have no business in LE.

See above. I know what the technical definition is. I’m talking about the practical use of the title.

He's a doctor. Sorry if that hurts your tender sensibilities but he earned the title. He isn't a MD. That's an entirely different type of doctor. Most people realize this and understand the difference.

He who laughs last laughs hardest.

Blank stare. It's telling that this bothers you so much.

Well, I’m off to hit some golf balls. I’m sure I’ll see several examples of genius when I return.

You do realize that it's only you who is intimating that I am, or have claimed to be, a genius, right?

Thanks I guess...but I'm not a genius. I am handsome AF however, haha.

I'm a glutton for punishment.

Thats ridiculous and you know it
Actually not. There’s been a lot written on the subject. It’s generally just MDs, and maybe Professors but I believe Professor is a more apt title. I’ve worked with many PhDs in the energy sector and none referred to themself as Dr. Smith.

You seem to continue to miss the point, either due to inability or unwillingness, so I guess I’m wasting my time.

Au contraire. You have a habit of calling me stupid, which of course bothers me little coming from a sheriffs deputy. I let it go for a while, but I guess I needed to send a message. Notice it’s not me that goes around calling myself a (fake) genius like @Sunburnt Indian or calling others stupid.

So. please, explain where you get this air of intellectual superiority from?

You truly have zero self-awareness.

I never said that you called yourself a genius sparky. You intimated that I have which is just another one of your lies.

You truly are a condescending prick and a faux intellectual however. Sounds like perhaps someone is overcompensating. Buy a Porsche instead imho.

A tip. This type regularly sees others as having an air of intellectual superiority. You can't fix it. No one else on this board displays such a characteristic. You don't need me to tell you why.

One's career field does not dictate one's intelligence quotient. There are brighter brick layers and sheriff's deputies than engine designers at SpaceX. Not many but they're out there.

BSC is not lying. He can't help the feeling.

LOL. I actually drive a Porsche.

What I do know is that you have repeated called me stupid, which is just funny coming from a guy that probably makes about $50k a year. Now while I have a great respect for LEOs, when they start acting like they they are my intellectual superior, I have to respond. Feel free to list your intellectual accomplishments.

Just remember, it’s you who started it.

Ah, look, another pussy attempt from the fake genius who isn’t man enough to respond directly. What does it say about someone who constantly compares himself to actual smart people. Copying sone riddle from a book doesn’t make you smart. Let me know when you figure out why I’ve proven most of your silly riddles wrong. Provide a logical counter argument and Then maybe I’ll give you some credit.

Man up dude. Quit hiding behind others.

BamaFan1137, any questions? I didn't think so.
