If it ends up just Elam and a 3 star on signing day I can live with that after how this class started - probably has us top 12 no matter what anyone else does. Mullen can actually develop players unlike Mac also.
Braun would be huge for 2019 also meaning we would be good at the OG position going into the season.
Anyone know what 3 Stars we might sign possibly?
Fever - just reading tea leaves but I haven't heard of 3-stars either in the works or that we're planning to sign as Plan Bs. Doesn't mean it won't happen...just isn't being reported just yet.
A couple of things - we still have guys like Pickins (WR - MS), Pickering (doubtfult) and a couple of others that are long shots but in play. It'd take a Henderson-type flip so not probable..but not a crazy stretch either if things fall that way.
I think the staff is set for the top guys (1-2 for sure) - the 2 transfers (Greenard is in already) plus any other top guys we can land. I know conventional wisdom is to sign a 3-star with good measurables to develop 2-3 years out but if they are out there I'm not hearing it just yet.
I think with the way 2020 is looking they may be happy to sit on an extra scholly or two - but that's just my feeling.

Yep it seemed the only 3 star we were considering that I remember is that guy that verbally committed to Penn State I think it was. If we were just to sign Elam that would leave a couple of extra ones for next class.

FSU fans are pretty certain they are going to lose Cross. They think he is going to Penn State but he did visit here I think.
I would be shocked if MAR went to Miami. It is us or Auburn.

If that is the case, after watching his film, I don't think he will be a practice player for long. Some time with Nick Savage will make a huge difference.
Trying to think of a swing this big before in the guesses where our targets are going a few days out from signing day.

Georgia now actually thinks they are the slight favorites over us to get Elam reading some of their stuff. Unless its bagmen related I think they are off the mark with that myself.

I hope we can get him. Just going by what the Auburn people apparently think.They were worried the most about us a few days ago but don't seem to be that much anymore for some reason.
I.m curious, do posters on these other message boards / forums have more direct / more accurate sources of information or do they have nothing more than the same rumors that we have ?
Most of the unsigned recuits left before signing day are very close mouthed and enjoy putting out smoke & BS about their intentions. And people who follow recruiting are deluded enough to take it for gospel !

If we don't get Elam - there's no excuse. That's a total miss. Elam + 1 is a good finish to the class...especially since we have the DL already incoming from louisville and should get Braun to transfer in as well.
But that's baseline imo - if we don't get all of that - it's a disappointment. Still a good class - crossing my fingers.
Honestly - it's mostly reading tea leaves lol. BUT - you do start to get a feel for which insiders are more correct and how each of them act prior to commits, or losing a commit.
You get some that, right up front tell you they are speculating - others that literally don't' say anything until it's in the bank. Both types are actually helpful in the ebb n flow of recruiting imo.
IF THEY don't get Elam, there are real reasons that might happen.

Yep If we just get Elam it was a nice recovery by Mullen and we avoid being in the teens probably. I think that D line coach that left was one of the weak links in recruiting.

Get Elam and yeah, not landing a top DL for the cycle smarts - but have a big 2020 and all will be good. It's not a fatal flaw but we can't lose Elam as well. We come up zeros somehow (which I don't expect) and it won't be fun haha.
That mentioned - still of the feeling that we get Elam plus one (several in the mix) - plus the 2 transfers...and I'll sleep really well.
Sounds like Richards said he is going to tell the coaching staffs where he is not going Monday as a courtesy even though he isn't announcing until signing day. You would think some of the places where he isn't going may leak out at least.

I think he may wait a while before he announces. I think he is taking spring classes at Tech and is going to visit at least Miami also. He probably won't be on campus until Summer B.
