Football College Football Playoff going to new straight seeding model

"The 12-team College Football Playoff will move to a straight seeding model this fall, rewarding the selection committee's top four teams with the top four seeds and a first-round bye, the CFP announced Thursday."

NonGator SEC to kick Tennessee out of conference because of state law

What a mess. The Tennessee legislature in a move ostensibly to protect Tennessee schools from being sued by student athletes for antitrust forbade the schools from signing the loyalty oath required by the House settlement. The loyalty oath requires that the schools comply with "a salary cap" provision, a clearinghouse for legitimate NIL offers and an enforcement mechanism for violations of the "salary cap".

What's Up With Kadarius Toney ? Film clips from Gator Maven !

Has he made his decision on whether or not to return for 2020 ?

Article in G'ville Sun, on Special Teams (who eat first at team meals) shows -

Who’s back: Kadarius Toney (kickoffs).

http://www.gatorsports.com/2020/01/an-early-look-at-the-2020-florida-football-teams-special-teams/

Last I saw was Toney saying NFL didn't worry about injuries & that he thought he had "enough tape."

Anything definite ? IMO, he should return as his stats from last year are barely noticeable. There was a reason Mullen only put him on the field occasionally !

Hey Obama, I doubt these grieving parents give a s**t about George Floyd

Is this your best way to comfort them?

2025 UF Lacrosse

The #5 Gators opened their season today in Baltimore vs. #11 Johns Hopkins. In a very tight match that was tied 6-6 at halftime, the Gators fell behiund in the 4th quarter, but scored 3 goals in the last 3:21, the go-ahead goal with 18 seconds left, to win 12-11. Johns Hopkins outshot Florida 37-19 and beat them in draw controls 15-7. But Gator goaltender Georgia Hoey had 10 saves to keep the Gators in the match and allow them to pull it out in the end.

Just an FYI - The Florida Lacrosse program moved to the Big 12 in the offseason and are favorites to win that conference in their 1st year. Other teams in the league are: UC Davis, San Diego State, Cincinnati, Colorado and Arizona State. So far, 11 of our 17 matches are scheduled to be televised, but only on ESPN+. Next up is a home game Sunday at 11 am on ESPN+ against Kennesaw State. Go Gators!

Pelosi Exposed

We have a riot in the Capital and they put up fences for months.

They won’t take up a vote on hardening schools.

I have to assume she wants certain people to not have protection.

Football Will Griffin

Think we got us a stud.

Will Griffin, QB- Tampa Jesuit

The University of Florida commitment looked poised, calm, cool and collected, especially in the first half of play. Griffin, who in the first half completed 13-of-16 passes, ended up throwing for 300 yards and two touchdowns against a very talented Lakeland defense.
Also had a 45 yard Touchdown run.

$40.5M Extension For Coach Todd Golden

6 years, through 2031. This is well deserved.

Coach Golden has brought our Gators back to the top where we belong. This shows we have the money to compete at the highest level and I think we will for a long time to come. Congrats Coach you earned it.

Question/discussion about lower leg injuries in Basketball and Football

Reading about Condon and how his ankle sprain affected his play upon his return, made me think of asking the forum the question about how athletes can sometimes return so quickly from ankle sprains and even other significant muscle strains/ sprains. I have sprained my ankle multiple times playing basketball and racquetball and it usually knocks me out of action for at least a month, sometimes two. Thoughts on the matter; anybody else ever wonder about this?
