Football Why do we have “fans” hoping we lose?

Can somebody please explain this mentality to me? Sorry being a competitive person myself I just don’t understand it.

I’m not a Napier fan and I don’t believe he is the right man for the job but it’s obvious the team isn’t very good and he’s most likely going to get fired but again I don’t understand that if you are true fan rooting against your own team. You don’t have to root against this UF team they have quite a few losses left on the schedule. Just let it happen as it happens.

Enjoy the win even if it was ugly and that we beat an instate team that would have been very embarrassing to lose too. In addition to that I live in Orlando and know a lot of UCF fans. I did not want to lose that game.

LIVE GAMEDAY THREAD: Central Florida at Florida

The kickoff is set for around 7:45 PM this evening, and I will be in chat and ready to go around 7:30 PM. See you all then! Go, Gators. There is no way on this planet I see UCF winning in The Swamp tonight after watching them last week. However, Vegas tells me they are a 2.5 favorite tonight, which is concerning. This will be the thread for ALL things UCF/Florida-related for the day.

Anything posted in the actual Chat Room WILL post automatically into the boards - same goes for any post made in this thread. We will see it IN the chat room. It is much easier to come into Chat during the game vs posting in the boards - Do not be scared. :p

I will open chat at 7:30PM

Football Gus Malzahn last night

Did anybody else get the feeling that early in the 3rd quarter Malzahn knew he couldn't win? Have you ever seen a Malzahn team take so much time between snaps, especially when they were behind? I never have, his signature is a hurry up, running offense. UCF's offense was completely exposed as being one dimensional and the Gator D had their number. I think he was happy to see the clock run out and not get beaten worse.

Football An officiating question

When Napier was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct last night the official said the call was against Florida's sideline, not Napier specifically. . Did I hear that right? If so, any unsportsmanlike conduct penalty by any player afterwards would have caused them to be ejected from the game (2 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and you are out.)
What would have happened if the Gator sidelines had another unsportsmanlike penalty, would the entire Gator team have been disqualified?

Football Is Billy the football version of Mike White?

It’s sure seems like it. He continually takes his foot off the gas when he has a chance to put a team away. I really wish somebody would ask him why. I get that the opposition has time to adjust during halftime, but there is no excuse for running the plays that he typically runs in the second half of games, including bunching up the offensive line and then trying to run the ball up the middle or running wide receiver screens to the short side of the field and so on. I’m not sure bringing in an offensive coordinator under his direction would change much of that, but I guess that’s something we’ll never know.
