Football Anyone going to Texas? **UPDATED INFO**

I’m going to be there. I have a conference in Austin starting on the 11th so I’m going to just go early and attend the game. I’ll be solo so going to find some Gators to have some cocktails with. Let me know what your plans are.

**UPDATE**. I checked with the Lonestar Gator Club. They will be hosting a reception Friday night at 6pm at a place called Mayfair which is downtown on 6th Street. I’m planning on attending. It is free to attend and does not require a reservation. You only pay for your drinks.

There will be a UFAA away game tailgate which there is a charge for. I’ve reached out to the UFAA to get the details as I cannot find any under the events list on the website.

If any of you would like to meetup at the reception DM me and we can figure it out.

Baseball World Series starts tonight

Since @JasonHigdon has given up on baseball and can't come to grips with the Yankees going for their 28th RING I decided we needed a World Series thread.
I think the Dodgers have a better lineup and the Yankees have better pitching. Should be some fire works and high scoring games. If I had to bet my mortgage on the series I would give the Dodgers the nod as a slight favorite with home field advantage. The Yankees are the best Professional sports organization of all time so that is difficult for me to say. Since I don't have any money on it I will go with the Yankees in game 7 beating the Dodgers with Stanton monster bomb in the 8th!!!!! Thoughts?

USF men's hoops coach passes unexpectedly

Wow, hate to see this. Dude was only 43 and led an amazing season for the Bulls last year. Will add an additional headline to our opening game against South Florida..

Football Gators fans are a tough critic..

I went to the Feast on the 50 in Orlando at camping world stadium last night. Big fundraiser with food, drinks entertainment for kids etc. A ton of colleges are represented by tents where they give out stuff, more food, more drinks etc. (Mostly all the SEC schools and Bug Ten)The crowd pretty much all wears their favorite teams apparel etc. So in talking to fans of many different colleges (mostly SEC and Big10) it was funny to hear their perspective on Florida. And I talked to a bunch.
I noticed most SEC fans view us as turning the corner with great outlook on the future with DJ and Baugh. However most of the Gator fans would talk about "we need to fire Napier".
So I think since we are so invested in our own team that most fans are tougher critics than the opposing fans. From what I gathered last night teams are noticing improvement and think we have a strong future. Hopefully our fans will come around too!

Go Gators

It’s 65 MILLION and probably

Worth it. That’s Mike Norvell’s buyout. That team could be one of the worse in the Nation. Since they put up 21 in the opening loss 24-21 to Georgia Tech. Norvell’s potent offense has put up 12, 13, 14 ( only win 14-9 over Cal. ), 16 and 14 points. They SUCK.

500 yards to 250 today. So, his Defense SUCKS also.

Meltdown alert on The Osceola. Our Nolie regulars GoldieMomma, Alaskan the crybaby Nole and 939913 aka who today? Socks? Mrs. Sad? can’t post there so, they’ll be responding to their Idol’s post aka Gatorshime.

Hugs and Kisses to all my fans.

Marine Down

John Kinsel Sr., one of the last remaining Navajo Code Talkers who transmitted messages during World War II based on the tribe’s native language, has died. He was 107. Navajo Nation officials in Window Rock announced Kinsel’s death on Saturday. Tribal President Buu Nygren has ordered all flags on the reservation to be flown at half-staff until Oct. 27 at sunset to honor Kinsel. “Mr. Kinsel was a Marine who bravely and selflessly fought for all of us in the most terrifying circumstances with the greatest responsibility as a Navajo Code Talker,” Nygren said in a statement Sunday.

1st 15 Play Scripted Against UGA

Hats off to the offensive coaching staff; the first 15-play script against UGA last year was a masterpiece. However, things kind of fell apart afterward. With a better quarterback and an overall improved offense, I hope we can develop additional plays that will benefit us. Milroe, torched them; however, can’t hit the broad side of a barn with a scattergun.

We need to be prepared for blitzes, zone blitzes, and combo blitzes, utilizing screens and quick passes to hot receivers, all while playing a complementary defense. I believe we’ll be just fine in a few weeks.

Additionally, Beck is looking a bit suspect right now. I’m not overlooking their defense, but I’m not ready to crown them either.

The added motivation from Etienne's transfer to UGA, along with the trash-talking, should also ignite our fire and desire even more. I love fire and aggression we have with the last few weeks. I expect us to be fever-pitched and poised take the Dawgs down.
