Hakeem Jeffries call to fight Trump agenda "IN THE STREETS"

Hey Hakeem, quit calling out the incendiary language of others wnen you come out lighting matches near a gas pump.
Hey man, if it wasn't for double standards, you'd have no standards at all.

Football Excellent GB column on the status of the program

This was such a great column to wake up to that I hope Franz won’t mind that I’m sharing it. I’ve found that GB is an excellent compliment to my 1st and Ten subscription as the columns are written jn the style I grew up reading from writers like Jack Hairston, Tom McEwen, etc.

Franz Beard:

few thoughts to jump start your Saturday morning:

It is called the Parable of the Wise and Foolish Builder, a section of the Sermon on the Mount in which Jesus spoke of two men, one who built his house on a rock, the other who built his house on sand. When the storms came, the house built on the rock was still standing. The house built on a foundation of sand was swept away.

The parable not only applies to life – with a strong foundation you weather the storms that inevitably come your way – but to football as well. We could point to the Florida Gators as the perfect example. Dan Mullen was fired at the end of the 2021 season because the powers that be at the University of Florida saw a program in decline and mediocrity in the future. Inheriting the remnants of Mullen’s shoddy recruiting, Billy Napier has spent three seasons putting in a foundation that stands on a rock. The first 2-1/2 seasons were the kind that had Florida fans pulling their hair out, wondering how Napier was ever going to keep Gator House from being washed away into a permanent state of losing football. Then came eight sacks of Garrett Nussmeier and a win at The Swamp over LSU followed by a win over Ole Miss a week later. The win over FSU in Tallahassee and the bowl win over Tulane were rewards for a job well done.

So here we are a little less than three months from the start of the 2025 season and rather than the so-called experts explaining why it is Billy Napier won’t last beyond midseason, we find the Gators on the fringe of College Football Playoff expectations. The reason is simple: Napier has put in place a solid foundation that bodes well for the future. Just this past week, ESPN came out with its two-year projections for all 68 schools that make up the power four. Florida, which wasn’t ranked among the top 25 a year ago, is No. 15, which is a very good place to start. At No. 15 the Gators will start the season close enough to get into the CFP mix early and stay there by dealing with a difficult but manageable season.

The Gators have exactly what is necessary to win big in 2025. It starts with a stud quarterback in DJ Lagway; SEC caliber offensive and defensive lines; and speed, depth and athleticism across the board at the other positions. For the first time since he became Florida’s head coach, Napier has a real SEC roster and he’s built it from the ground up.

Florida has only seven transfers and only two – punter Tommy Doman (from Michigan) and wide receiver J. Michael Sturdivant (from UCLA) – figure to have starting roles. When you only need to dip into the portal for one or two plug and play types, you have a solid foundation, one that can sustain success.

It is that strong foundation that helped Napier land a commitment Friday from 4-star running back Carsyn Baker (6-1, 200, Fairburn, GA Langston Hughes). It’s a big recruiting weekend at UF and Napier could land two or three other studs for the 2026 class. On hand and doing his part to help recruit is quarterback Will Griffin (6-3, 225, Tampa, FL Jesuit). When your quarterback who probably won’t see the field until 2027 is on hand helping to recruit, you know your foundation is built on a rock.

ESPN 2-year projections top 25/SEC: 1. Texas; 2. Ohio State; 3. Georgia; 4. Oregon; 5. Notre Dame; 6. Penn State; 7. Clemson; 8. LSU; 9. Tennessee; 10. Alabama; 11. Miami; 12. Arizona State; 13. Michigan; 14. SMU; 15. FLORIDA; 16. Ole Miss; 17. Illinois; 18. South Carolina; 19. Iowa State; 20. Indiana; 21. Kansas State; 22. Missouri; 23. Iowa; 24. Louisville; 25. BYU; 27. Oklahoma; 28. Texas A&M; 37. Auburn; 48. Vanderbilt; 52. Kentucky; 55. Arkansas; 59. Mississippi State

247Sports national recruiting rankings for 2025 (as of June 13/SEC teams bold face): 1. Texas; 2. Georgia; 3. Alabama; 4. Ohio State; 5. Oregon; 6. Michigan; 7. FLORIDA; 8. Auburn; 9. Texas A&M; 10. ***COMMIT*** BREAKING NEWS: GATORS LAND HUGE COMMITMENT FROM STAR RB - What he said at Dinner

He introduced himself, his family, his position and he said he said he wanted to make a special announcement to everyone today, thanked God, Coach Juluke, and Coach Napier and the rest of the staff for recruiting him hard and said he is committing to the University of Florida

Football Three-star OT Tyler Chukuyem Commitment Prediction

Three-star offensive tackle Tyler Chukuyem is set to announce his commitment on Monday, June 16th. Chukuyem is down to four schools. He’ll choose between the Cincinnati Bearcats, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, and Ole Miss Rebels.

Tyler Chukuyem is a 6’6”, 290-pound offensive tackle out of South Paulding High School in Douglasville, Georgia. He’s rated a three-star recruit and received a 5.6 Rivals rating. During the recruiting process, Chukuyem received over 20 offers from some of the best football programs in the country. He holds offers from schools like Cincinnati, Florida, Florida State, Minnesota, Ole Miss, and NC State.

During the recruiting process, Chukuyem has taken multiple unofficial visits to his top schools. He has already made three official visits and is scheduled to make a fourth official visit this weekend.

The Ole Miss Rebels were Chukuyem’s first official visit. Chukuyem made his way to Oxford, Mississippi, during the May 30th weekend. Ole Miss’s offensive line coach, John Garrison, is the primary recruiter for Chukuyem.

After his Ole Miss official visit, Chukuyem took his second official visit to the University of Cincinnati during the June 5th weekend. The Bearcats were one of the first Power Four programs to offer the Peach State native.

Last weekend, Chukuyem took his third official visit to the University of Florida. The Gators were the last school to offer him. Chukuyem was originally scheduled to take an official visit to the University of Minnesota last weekend, but he decided to change his plans after his Florida offer. Both of Florida’s offensive line coaches, Rob Sale and Jonathan Decoster, are heavily involved in his recruitment.

After his scheduled commitment on Monday, Chukuyem is scheduled to take his fourth official visit to Florida State University. FSU’s offensive line coach, Herb Hand, is the primary recruiter for Chukuyem.

With all that said, I think Tyler Chukuyem will make his commitment to the University of Florida on Monday. The Gators have quickly made an impact on his recruitment once they extended an offer. Florida could land two big offensive tackle recruits on the same day. The 6’5” 330-pound offensive tackle out of Glades Central High School, Javarii Luckas, is scheduled to commit on Monday, and Florida seems to be the favorite to land him as well.

Prediction: Florida Gators

New Story Three-star OT Javarii Luckas Commitment Prediction

Three-star OT Javarii Luckas Commitment Prediction
HECTOR

Three-star offensive tackle Javarii Luckas announced on his Twitter account that he will announce his commitment on Monday, June 16th. Luckas is down to three schools. He’ll choose between the Florida Gators, USF Bulls, and West Virginia Mountaineers.

Javarii Luckas is a 6’5”, 330-pound offensive tackle out of Glades Central High School in Belle Glade, Florida. He’s rated a three-star recruit and received a 5.5 Rivals rating. During the recruiting process, Luckas received nine offers from some of the best football programs in the country. He holds offers from schools like Florida, Miami, Penn State, USF, and West Virginia.

During the recruiting process, Luckas has taken multiple unofficial visits to his top schools. He has already taken official visits and is scheduled to take a third official visit this weekend.

The University of Florida was Luckas’s first official visit. Luckas made his way to Gainesville during the May 30th weekend for the official visit. Both of Florida’s offensive line coaches, John Decoster and Rob Sale, are his primary recruiters.

After his Florida official visit, Luckas took his second official visit to West Virginia University. The Mountaineers were one of the last schools to extend an offer. West Virginia’s assistant coach, Blaine Stewart, is the primary recruiter for Luckas.

While Luckas is set to make his verbal commitment on Monday, he is still scheduled to take an official visit to the University of South Florida this weekend. This will be Luckas’s second visit to their campus. South Florida’s offensive line coach, Tyler Hudanick, is the primary recruiter for Luckas.

With all that said, I think Javarii Luckas will make his commitment to the University of Florida on Monday. Luckas was originally scheduled to make his commitment in July, but pushed up his commitment date shortly after his Florida official visit.

Prediction: Florida Gators

How are we rationalizing this?

Thought I’d check in to see how we’re rationalizing Trump spending his first three months making a big show of uncovering government waste and then championing a spending bill that increases the deficit by $3 trillion. I looked for a thread to post in but couldn’t find one on the BBB for whatever reason. So please, all you champions of fiscal responsibility, what accounts for this?

Out of Trump’s hands (darn RINOs in Congress!)?

4D chess by Trump purposefully orchestrating Elon’s ouster so he could publicly skewer the darn RINOs in Congress!?

Sour grapes by Elon?

You got to spend money to make money.

“Shut up Bradley, you hate America!”?
