We've got some good ones. Guys can block, catch the ball, get open and take it to the house. Copeland and Pitts are stepping up. They are a very unselfish group...it's almost pick your poison with them...every player can burn you. We have 6-7 guys that can beat you.

Love how they are playing.

Unfortunately we lose 4 or 5 of them after this year. Grimes should come back, but four others gone for sure.

Yeah...we've got some other players...again Copeland is stepping up, Grimes will be back, Pitts will be back and we have lots of talent. Either way guys are playing well. Every year in college is a different team...those guys deserve a ton of credit for us being 7-1 right now.

Receivers and tight ends are the only position group on our team with elite talent and depth comparable to Bama, Clemson, UGA, Ohio St, who have it at all positions. Uga doesn't have the coaching to match its recruiting.

If we sustain success we will be able to build up the recruiting to where in a couple of years we will have the talent and depth across the board at all positions to be like a Bama or Clemson. That's when losses like Greenard and Zuniga won't affect us as much because the 2 and 3 deep will be great too.

Pitts is a very good receiver,,, but a sissy of a blocker.
He gets an Olay Teddy-bear almost every week, and I'd give him 2-3 for the SCa game.... o_O
Pitts is faster, but Krull is a much better blocker, but they aren't playing him but 1-2 plays per game...

Van had another tough game. His only good catch was on the Townsend punt on the SCa 3 yard line.
But that's okay though, because 4 different receivers stepped up to make a TD reception vs SCa.
Copeland 37 yd -- Swain 25 yd - Grimes 5 yd - Pitts 5 yd.
Three of those 4 should be back next year.

They are about what I posted back in Aug. Top 1-2 WR group in the SEC, and probably Top 5 in the nation. ;)

Which is why I think it might be Jones next year. This year our strength is passing. Next year, with the Oline being back and all the young OL bringing depth, we should be able to run the Mullen offense. But Trask can't run the Mullen offense.

It is a testament to Mullen as a coach that he can run an effective offense that is so far outside his comfort zone.

"I don't need a running QB, I need a passing QB that can run the ball when needed." Dan
Kyle ran on 3rd down twice for 1st downs vs SCa. o_O
How was Franks injured out for the season?
And there is a lot more to being Dan's QB than running the ball, otherwise put Toney or Copeland at QB.

Now, back to the WR's topic....

After the best performance of his young Florida Gators career thus far, UF redshirt freshman WR/RB/PRr Jacob Copeland earned SEC freshman of the Week honors after the teams road win over the South Carolina Gamecocks last weekend.

Copeland emerged as the Gators' top receiver in total receiving yards in Saturday's win over South Carolina, as Copeland had 3 receptions for 89 yards, 29.7 yds/rec (a game-high) and one touchdown - which was a career-long 37-yard reception.

After that performance, he becomes the 5th Gator to record multiple touchdown receptions this season.

Copeland has been the subject of news stories in recent days for his productive outing and highlight-worthy 37-yard touchdown catch. He split a pair of defenders, snatched a Kyle Trask pass out of the air, and then raced into the end zone. He finished the SCa game as the yards leading receiver, 3 for 89.

It was the type of play Copeland was known for at Escambia High in Pensacola. He was named SEC Freshman of the Week on Monday, joining Antonio Callaway (2015) and Tyrie Cleveland (2016) as the only UF freshman receivers this decade to earn the award. (speaking of keeping good company) A healthy and more mature Copeland has already made an impact for the 7th ranked Gators with 12 receptions for 181 yards, 15.1 yds/rec, and 2 TD's.

With the Sr WR depth that they have for 2019, we haven't even seen 2 other Fr yet.
So, when those 4 Sr WR's are gone, who will replace them?

Both were highly under-rated 3 stars, I think because they didn't do the camps. iG
Mullen said - "So you think they're 3 stars? Well,,, we'll see..." o_O

Offers: UF-MsSt -- UL-Neb-UCF-WVa - See his Hudl film...
HS Sr - 45 for 964 yards 21.4 yds/rec, and 11 TD's.

#24 WR Leonard Manuel 6-4 200 **** 6.0 - Ocala, FL
