What's the scoop on Callaway and Treon

While you're just brain-dead.... :D

On of my favorite Johnny Carson telecast was when a drunk Dean Martin kept tapping cigarette ash into George Gobel's drink

Best Dean Martin line, responding to Sinatra's question about whether his drinking causes him to fall down in the street:

It's the only time I get any rest. You think these are cufflinks? These are curbfeelers!

Ha ha. Dino was the best.

Be that as it may, the law firm of Johnson & Osteryoung has conducted its own investigation as to the allegation that is the basis for the suspension.

There is no good reason why this investigation has not been closed.
This allegation has no merit.

Apparently the above claim is not 100% true, otherwise why hasn't Callaway filed a suit against UF and/or the unnamed accuser, so that he could be cleared and reinstated? Is he still at school and attending classes? The continuing silence is becoming deafening.

Curious-er and Curious-er,,, as the saying goes. o_O

something big happened. I cant imagine a scenario where that isn't accurate.
or some big accusation that is being vetted.

Understand that there is *no* Gainesville or University law enforcement investigation going on. That lowers the incident seriousness quite a bit.

The only thing we really know is they got suspended. Assuming it was something "big" isn't fair. No knock at all on Mac...he seems to run a pretty tight ship when it comes to info leaks about discipline matters.

at this point it doesn't really matter because he was throwing shade at UF on twitter about whatever is going on. I'm sure he's done now

Are these two suspensions (Harris/Callaway) separate, or are they linked together? o_O

Was this another case of Harris showing his 'quality' of leadership with the team?

It is interesting how the discussion typically involves the suspensions as being related. I don't recall anyone officially affiliated with UF indicating they were. Again, pretty tight lid.

Basically we'll not know anything until fall practice starts. Maybe there will be some scoop about off-season workouts with QB's and receivers. I doubt it though.

School officials confirmed Tuesday that Harris and Callaway are enrolled in classes for the spring semester, but McElwain said there's no timetable for their return (to the team). The suspensions were not announced when they occurred back in January, but only when it was going to be obvious that they were not at the start of Spring practice in March. There were some rumors floating around that at least Harris has not been seen around campus since January. I don't know about Callaway? What either/both might have done has not even been hinted at by any UF official that I know of. There are valid reasons for that I guess.

According to Gainesville police, campus police and court records, neither Harris nor Callaway appear to be the subject of a criminal investigation. They could, however, be suspended while under investigation by the Student Conduct Committee for a code of conduct violation. But those records would be confidential under federal and state privacy laws that protect students.

Being that this is the THIRD suspension for Harris, I'd not mind if he took his selfish act elsewhere.
It seems that Callaway will likely be back, but depending,,,, that's not a sure thing either. The longer that this drags on, the less likely it becomes.... Transfers during the summer might be the first indication, instead of later at Fall practice.

With Robinson's early departure to the NFL and Callaway's indefinite suspension, 2-3 of the new guys and 3-4 of the older guys will have plenty of room to make an impact in 2016. They have all looked pretty good in the Spring, especially now that UF has both depth and quality at QB, (without Harris being in the way).

For Harris, it seems at some point he and Mac are gonna have an understanding regarding Treon's role going forward. If Mac is comfortable with the "depth and quality" at QB from the spring, I'd imagine he may not want to waste reps with Treon at QB. If Treon doesn't want to compete at a new position, he may well decide to transfer. All too speculative to know.

Calloway? He's different then Treon. He was actually doing well at his position and considered one of, if not the top Gator offensive player last season. Both he and Mac are probably content with Calloway's on-field role. I haven't read anything from anyone concerning Calloway's situation.

I don't think Treon will be at UF at all next year, but if he does return to UF he won't be returning as a QB.

I agree, and it's what seems to be obvious at this point because of his actions both on, and especially off the field. I suspected this would eventually happen, 2 suspensions ago. (I wish he'd transferred after the 1st, better for him and for UF)

Treon's 'Official UF Roster Position' is still listed as a QB.
The un-Official word was that they would be trying him at WR, maybe slot, but that went in the toilet with his suspension from Spring practice. UF now has plenty of quality and depth at both QB & WR, so the chances of TH making the transition to another position very unlikely, as anything other than deep 3-4 string depth. The same would go for breaking into a secondary position at DB-U. JMOHO of course...

Callaway, regardless of his WR-PR talent levels, really needs to sort out his priorities if he wants to stay at UF and compete with the team.
~ He has his freedom of choice, but not freedom from the consequences... o_O
(good decisions, with solid follow-up actions, are the keys to success)

treon just needs to hang himself or something, im sorry but the kid is useless as driskel and a cancer all the way around. If you are reading this treon come fight me in real life

Driskel at least tried to be a leader by keeping himself off illegal drugs and sleeping around with shady women. Off the field he did everything he was suppose to. He just didn't have it between the ears on the field. No need to put Driskel in the same class with a selfish player such as Treon.

Insta's obsession with Treon continues. So you wanted him to transfer after his first suspension because why? Your own personal hatred? Some of the best players in UF history have had multiple, dumb suspensions, we should have got rid of all them too.

And I'm curious as to what you guys consider selfish? Treon committed to Muschamp with the deal in place he would try QB for a at least a year and switch to DB if it didn't work out. Sounds like a team player to me especially when he could have gone multiple places to play QB exclusively. Was he selfish when he got thrown into the fire not even close to ready when our abysmal upperclassmen QB couldn't not shat down his own leg and took a beating as a true freshman? Or selfish playing through a bunch of injuries the last half of that year? Or selfish when he lost the job to Grier and according to everyone close to the team was extremely supportive to the point they were really good friends off the field? Or going to the staff and ASKING to change positions (something Insta claimed his ego was too big to do, I guess based on all the personal interactions he's had with Harris) for the good of the team? Per Mac he offered to play anywhere they'd put him. Sounds like a cancer for sure. He's a dumbass off the field, that there is no doubt. Why you guys try to extrapolate more from that is beyond me.

Ooozzzieesss obsession with insta's opinions continues. :D
So what, and I'm not interested in his obvious 'man-crush' on terminal TH.

" (something Insta claimed his ego was too big to do,,,,

So now ooze resorts to outright slimy lies and idiot guesses, (link to iG statement please). o_O

Plus there are so many things that are seemingly beyond you, but that's JMOHO...

You're such a fraud. Like I'm going to spend time to go back months to dig up old comments from you. I don't care that much. That you would sit up here and deny you said that only speaks to your character and ain't my problem. You deny that you said Harris' ego was too big to switch positions? Just so we have it on record...

Selfish by riding in a car with teammates with the car smelling like a scene from Cheech and Chong. Selfish by smoking out during the season and getting himself suspended just before a huge divisional game.

I can't speak of his recent troubles but I would not be surprised if it was something once again selfish.

No matter who is labeled a captain, it is usually universal from Pop Warner to the NFL that the QB is the known leader of the offense.

That's all cool he was friends with Grier and asked for a position change, still don't take from the fact he put his teammates at risk by being a drug addict.

DeMarcus Robinson from the sounds of it is just as bad...if not worse.

I never heard of Driskel driving without a license in a car smelling of weed nor do I remember Driskel being suspended for failing a drug test.

I'd almost rather go 8-4 with Jeff Driskel than the season of embarrassment from Will Bosworth and Treon Marley.

We're you cool with your GSU teammates smoking out during the season right before a huge game with playoff implications?

I know "it's the thing kids that age do" but not when they have 84 other teammates depending on them.
