What would it take?

Decent I would agree with. Definitely tournament material? That’s starting to stretch. Again, do you think any of these guys will play in the NBA? Anyone going to be all SEC this year or in the future? Maybe Locke and Johnson could develop into all league players but they’re not there yet. The horrible shooting is because we have horrible shooters. Locke and Allen are the only somewhat reliable jumpshooters.
And Allen went 1-10 Saturday and has played nowhere near the level he was expected to when coaches picked him pre-season All-SEC (along with Jalen Hudson).

Exactly. Allen is the only above league average offensive player on the team. If he shoots 1-10, we’re not winning period.

Funny thing about Allen, even when he misses, the shot is usually right on line and usually barely misses or rims out. But he seems to go on streaks where he’ll have eight of those in a game.

The thing about Allen, too, is that he makes bad decisions about when to try to drive to the rim and when to pass it off. He gets caught in bad positions too many times and ends up either taking a bad shot or making a bad pass. He's had, overall, a solid Gator career but his senior year has not been as good as anybody, probably himself included, had expected.

I agree on the drives. It’s like he makes his mind up I’m going to drive the ball as opposed to taking what the defense gives. Then he drives into traffic and puts up a crazy shot with no chance. Very solid career but never quite got to where a lot of us expected. Unless he shoots us into the elite 8 this year.

Hayes has and does 'play his heart out every night.' (UF #2 Career Blks)

Hudson and Allen are both good guys and great Gators, but this season Hudson was a no-show for the first 2/3's of the season, and Allen has be hit/miss on and off inconsistent all season.

What has carried that team so far imo, has been the coaching of Mike White and the incredible performance of his 3 freshmen all season. o_O

PG Andrew Nembhard 6-5 191 Fr *****

~ Anthony Roberson holds UF's Freshman Record for season made 3's with 74.
~~ Noah Locke
currently has 73 made 3's, while leading UF's 1-2 full court defense and playing through hip and groin injuries. -- Fr All SEC IMOHO & setting a new Fr 3's record.

SF/PF Keyontae Johnson 6-5 225 Fr ****
2018-19 Stats:

And as I've said before, with the 4 guys coming in the next class, Mike's team will jump to a Sweet-16, or maybe even a Final-4 team. JMOHO's of course.

Allen is a super good kid and a great gator. sadgator will get sh!t for saying it, but sadgator would take a kid like Allen any day over any blue chip one and done prima donna our there. He has given us his heart and soul for his entire career. Really hope these last few weeks are a positive ending for him...

Season ain’t quite over yet...still a hope...

I agree. I just thought sky was the limit when he scored 35 in the sweet 16 as a sophomore. Great Gator though. And you're right, he's not done yet.

Play 40 minutes of defense (hell), run the offense and execute the game plan, MAKE shots.o_O

Pretty simple really, but also can be very difficult to accomplish on any given night...

GoooooooooooooGATORS!!! :)

An LSU win at home tonight is what it will take. A win will also keep us from having a losing record at home in our conference games. Go Gators !!!

In a weak year....... I still think UF can lose tonight and at UK on Saturday and still sneak in the tournament.

Just win tonight and make it official

I love when people just yell "make shots!"

Yeah, because that's how it works.

You sound like the parent of a kid on a U10 Rec league squad.

"SHOOOOOT!!!!!!"

Overtime again. Great effort by the Gators tonight no matter how it turns out and Hudson has been outstanding. One of the best games of his career.

So Jalen Hudson gets the ball and promptly falls down. The balls pops to an open guy who, instead of shooting, drives into traffic and doesn't get a shot off.

I love my Gators, but this batch of seniors, I am ok with them moving on.

Yes but you didn’t mention why it took Nembhard so long to bring the ball up the court after the defensive stand. He wasted about 4 seconds. That would have been 4 more seconds to get a shot off.

With all due respect, you’re acting a drama queen...bummer of a loss...that is all it is.
It isn’t just this loss. Check out how many home losses we’ve had this year.

South Carolina and UGA at home are about as bad as losses as you can have.

Computer says a 34% chance to get in now and that is assuming a likely KY loss and then possible tournament results. I am thinking if we catch Miss State or Ole Miss in the first game of the tournament that a win in that game may be enough.

Looking at the standings, final games and tiebreakers we are much more likely to end up facing the Bama/Arkansas final game winner in that first game which wouldn't help as much.

Very dissappointing and underachieving season IMO.

One thing about this team, they very rarely quit. Down 11 they fought their way back and actually had an 8 point lead with 6:04 left. Hudson was great. Some of White's decision making down the stretch was head scratching. He went big to end first half and we were +6. Not sure why he didn't do any of that in the 2nd half.

Yep not sure beating lowly Arkansas would be enough or even Bama. If we do end up in that #8,#9 first game we will get LSU it appears in the next game unless Vanderbilt pulled a huge upset on them in their final regular season game. That LSU game would definitely be a win and your in for sure. With how the brackets are set up we are 100% in if we win 2 games in the tourney even with a loss to KY.

I would agree with this ... UF is in with 1 or 2 wins in Tourney ... the Net rating is pretty good still

Can't believe we have a losing record in SEC play at home.
I can believe it! Mike White is quickly destroying what Billy built.
Since UF is sitting at 9-8 SEC, that means that they have a winning record in SEC away games... Can you believe that?
While you two hater-mor-rons blind yourselves to the fact that one season BillyD went 3-5 vs SEC in the O'Dome, and he left UF in his final season with a 16-17 loser record... o_O

2014-15 Loser x2 - 16-17, 8-10 SEC -- They went 0-1 in the NIT.
Then BillyD bailed out.
-----
2015-16 NIT with 21-15, 9-9 SEC - NIT Quarter-finals with 0 home games.
2016-17 NCAA Elite-8 - 27-9, 14-4 SEC - SEC CoY
2017-18 NCAA Rnd of 32 - 21-13, 11-7 SEC
(In just 3 Yrs as White's starting PG, the 'Cheese' left UF as the All Time Career Ast's leader)

2018-19 NCAA or NIT for sure if not the Dance.
Currently -- 17-13, 9-8 SEC -- 9-6 in the O'Dome
C Dak - Out for the entire season. :(
PF Concussion.Johnson - Gone in Dec. :(
PF/SF K.Stone - Gone in Jan. :(

Hudson and Allen under-performed all season, with just a few games where they played up to the potential and expectations.
PF block-master Hayes was the only upperclassman that could be counted on game to game, and he's no offensive juggernaut...

But haters, trolls, and moe-rons, gonna smack their gums, flap their lips, and hate on...

Overall with all the crap they look at we will be out whether that crap says that number or not without getting another decent win. RPI and good wins aren't that good at all. We are at about where the lowest RPI that ever made it in is.

Yeah fevered brain, and quality football recruiting ends in Aug and Dan can't recruit and will never get a Top 10 class in 2019 (R-#8). You're just so bright and never get it wrong...

Coach White might make the Dance, and it not the NIT for sure.
Not to bad will all things considered.
1. A monster opponents list.
2. C Dak 6-11 254 lost for the entire season.
3. PF Concussion Johnson lost in Dec.
4.. PF/SF K.Stone lost in Jan
5. CG J.Hudson a no-show for 2/3's of the season.
6. SG K.Allen a hit/miss, on/off inconsistent player all season.

Given all of that,,, Coach White has done an excellent job by even still being in consideration for the NCAA's. o_O

PF Nembhard - Per/Gm - 8 Pts , 2.8 Rb, 5.1 Ast, 2.1 T-O, 1.2 Stl - FT .786

(30 Gms, 25 Starts - broke the UF Fr Record for made 3's in a season)

(30 Gms, 14 starts, 22 min/G - 2nd in Rbs, Hayes 6.1)

And next season will be a Quantum Leap in on the floor talent.

That sounds like White when he goes on and on in a press conference blaming the players and saying he can't shoot the ball for them despite them looking lost in half court offense execution.

Could you post some quotes of White blaming the players, with links please, because trusting any of your usual drivel is a fools parade.... o_O

Sounds to me like you're again lost in you own fevered brain, and still beating your head against your mommy's basement wall...

Players weren't where they are supposed to be on defense.

Players couldn't even make shots in the shoot around prior to the game.

"KeVaughn has to get to the rim more. Jalen has to get to the rim more. All our guards. We’ve got a bunch of jump shooters"

Gators had a 31-30 halftime lead at KY, but are getting dominated on the boards and are now down 54-42 with just under 6 minutes left. Not looking good for the good guys.

I guess we can now hear White say if the players could have hit their 3 pointers or maybe he will say the players couldn't even hit their shots in the pre-game warmup again.
