What the phuck has Georgia really accomplished recently

We kicked Florida's butt so bad with 41-7 that they fired McElwain the next day.

You need not go any further than that. To tell the story of where these two programs sit, Florida loses to UGLY by that margin get's it's head coach fired immediately upon the end of the game, despite that coach getting the team to the SEC Championship game the previous 2 seasons.

When UGLY loses to Florida by that same amount, say 2008 for example, the worst that happens is they decide not to give a raise to their coach that year. Different expectations, different realities. That performance is never tolerated at Florida these days, but UGLY seems to accept that it'll happen once a decade and just rolls with it.

McElwain actually got fired before the game and told the players in the locker room, but why let facts get in the way. That’s part of the reason the team went out there and laid down. And even in some world where UGA got him fired...so? He was a bum who’s ‘success’ was entirely fraudulent. Couldn’t beat ranked teams and had some of the worst offenses in the country during his tenure. All he did was survive on the back of defenses Muschamp built. When those players left his program predictably tanked. Thanks for helping him get fired, I guess.

If they played in the west, they likely would have finished in third place the last two seasons. This is based on losing to bammer both years, losing to LSU last year, and losing to Auburn during the regular season in 2017.

The seem to take pride in coming close to beating bammer. The same bammer team who was blown off the field by Clemson last year

It is also comical that they take their losses to bammer as a positive sign instead of just more of the same choking and losing that has always been typical of Georgia

Just want you to understand that thinking we fired Butters because of the Georgia loss is INSULTING to Georgia. It says "we are so bad we got blown out by GEORGIA. He's got to go."

So hey, if you want to believe that, feel free. I can tell you that the reality is it had everything to do with him making up stories about death threats and telling the team just before the UGa game that he was going to be fired, and very little to do with the UGa game, but if you want to believe UF is so superior to you that losing to you gets a coach fired, I'm certainly not going to stop you.

I get the sarcasm but you can understand our optimism. Georgia will be favored in every regular season game. We all know that it takes some luck along the way, but I like where we are. I am cautiously confident that this team can finish the drill in the SECCG versus Alabama this year. This team is just as talented/experienced as they are. If you saw our last two games against them, you know we had them beat and choked at the end. Talk is cheap but I am excited to get this season started.

1st year Dan takes over a cluster 4-7 team with only 2 ***** Sr's (neither drafted) only lost 3 games, while going 4-0 down the stretch, including a + 26 Pt win over #7 Mich in the Peach Bowl.

An interesting fact for the mutts:


Kirby Smart has never beaten a western division team on the road. Lost to Ole Miss first year, Auburn second year, and LSU last year. None of those games were even close.

Pretty good chance that streak continues. For all their yapping about owning Auburn, the mutts see 2-3 in their last five games at Auburn. One of those victories was against Auburn's second string quarterback.

What does that record look like if you remove your rental QB from 2010?

Georgia owns you, whether they are good or bad. UGA > Auburn.
