Although Duquesne looks like a sleeper team this yr (they have top 25 potential), I think we comfortably win by 10 to 14. Going to be a battle though, I'm sure no rain delays wi happen in late August at 5pm tho.

I drive a pretty long way to see fsu and HATE night games. Atmosphere is amazing don't get me wrong but leaving Doak takes at least an hour hr and a half. It's so annoying, although I'm not a poor and can afford a hotel, i don't like buying them just on principle.

I'm coming to the KY game from Nevada. I love the fact that it's a night game. Who really wants a 12 or 3'Oclock kick off live in September. The heat and humidity is terrible in September. We pull this one out and set a run for a new run over the kittens. Go Gators!

Yep with Miller, Kitna or a true freshman at QB we could be looking at 6-6. Games like KY and TN would be likely losses and a team like SC with Rattler at QB would be a dangerous game.

If Brown had been an EE, he'd already be the #2 imoho.

As it is, it's taking him a little bit to learn the offense and adjust to throwing to new unfamiliar receivers. As he gets reps, it will come faster and faster for him.

Anyone that can look at his HS film and not appreciate what he can do both passing 71% and running 7.9 ypc, is either blind or stupid.

sadgator appreciates the manner in which Napier embraces adversity and uses it to his advantage…(listen to his comments in the clip)…he doesn’t just talk about being tough (which is easy)…he teaches having a tough mindset and edge…it is something we have been lacking for years…we’ve been all talk for far too long…hope this time it translates into the real thing…

Should have happened in 2020 when they had a 21-7 lead on FSU and in 2018 when Samford came close to winning back when FSU had that French quarterback.

Well, HS backup (70%, 20 TD's 0 Ints) QB Trask was a shock,,,, to everyone but to me,,, soooo...... 🤓

And ole Nappy had no talent (7 of 14 tOSU, + sucked at Q&B) Miller III at #2 until he got a thumb booboo, so who knows how long it will take for the best QB after AR, to finally get into the #2 position? Going by past experience, it could be 2025 before he even gets a real chance at the job.... As Forrest's momma always said, "Stupid is as stupid does." 😏

I was kinda hoping that Nappy was not as QB stupid as the last 3 HC's, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see what he does, or doesn't do. So far, I've not been overly impressed with his choices.... 🙄 (I continue to hope that he's been sneaky sand-baggin' with Max, and that at some point he'll pull him out of the bag and turn him loose, but maybe I'm just day-dreamin')

Well I doubt Napier would be crazy enough to pull something like Mullen did in 2019 giving Franks the starting job. We probably won't hear about Brown until next spring unless things get really crazy. If he is the real deal he will start to show it by then.

Absolutely, because it took true Fr AR that long before getting any playing time, or showing out his ability.... Funny to me how now, nobody seems to remember that AR was a tFr last season, and that didn't seem as big of a drawback as it is for Max this year.... 🙄

He's not listed as a rsSo, but I guess the scamdemic class adjustments accounts for that and threw me off. Thinking about it, both Jones and AR watched Trask.
I Always try to quickly admit when I'm incorrect, so thanks for the correction.

However, the principle still applies, that it's the abilities not the class, that makes the difference.
Chris Leak started and played as a true Fr, as have many others in college football. Talent, not Fr status, makes all the difference.

Looking at it another way, with no disrespect at all for AR's HS stats at a lower classification (competition) HS.

Eastside is in the Fla 2 Classification.

AR Finished his 4-year varsity career at Eastside with:
P - 4,633 Yds, 53.2%, 37 TD's. 19 Ints (1.9 to 1)
R - 1,633 Yds, 41 TD's, 6.5 ypc, 2 LPF
4 Yr Total 6,266 Yds, 78 TD's, 21 Turnovers (3.7 to 1)
(6 TD's to 5 Ints at UF leaves some doubt still on his passing accuracy)

Lincoln Christian is in the Ok 3 Classification..

MB finiished his 2 year varsity career with Lincoln with:
P - 4,416 Yds,71.6%, 68 TD's, 10 Ints (6.8 to 1)
R - 2,335 Yds, 33 TD's, 7.1 ypc, 1 LPF
2 Yr Total 6,751 Yds, 101 TD's, 11 Turnovers (9.2 to 1)

I'm thinking that's just gotta count for something when evaluating talent levels.....

We've discussed this. It wasn't crazy at the time to give Franks the starting job. He was the only QB we had with game experience. I'm sure there are a lot of decisions that would have been made differently if people had the luxury of knowing the outcome in advance.

sadgator isn’t making any definitive statements…just calling it like it is…sadgator likes Napier’s style and approach. He certainly looks the part to this point…

Although, sadgator has made it clear that he isn’t going to believe it until he sees the results…that doesn’t mean sadgator can’t be optimistic about what he sees…

A lot to be optimistic about. Hell I bought a Willie "do something" shirt at one time...... yeesh. (Not saying Napier is Willie just how you can be excited before a first game with a new coach).

Napier has been doing well with recruiting so far. I'm actually excited to see the Utah game, don't think it's do or die for him but I think it will be telling if it's a "compete now" situation or "this will take a year" situation.
