Capt there are a lot of good Democrats and Republicans, where in the hell did you come from, you are just a vile person. There are millions of people in this country so why paint them with the same brush? The most evil person in the U.S is DJT, he is a real sicko in MO.

He's about save you 30-80% on your prescription drugs. Which will likely be a significant savings at your age.

I'll leave you alone to go back to watching 19 year old girls play softball.

This combine with being die hard in your beliefs from supporting a Democratic Party that hasn’t existed in decades, but refusing to accept how far they have liberalized can make people surprisingly dedicated and unwavering to a party that could care less about them anymore.

I remember having a conversation when I was a little kid with my dad who was gonna vote for Jimmy Carter over Ronald Reagan. My dad was very conservative, but he was a Dixiecrat and just couldn’t force himself to vote for Reagan, even though Carter had destroyed our economy. I was probably like seven at the time so it was an interesting conversation, but I’ve never forgotten it.

Gotta pay attention, sometimes the party that you identified with is not the real party anymore. Sometimes you move away from the party but more often the party moves away from you.
Politicians and political parties will quickly and easily change their beliefs to stay in power. And we’ll take advantage of whatever they can to get votes and stay in power.

That’s what makes Trump so great, he is who he is. That’s never gonna change. Thankfully I like who he is.
That democrat party went away when a kenyan muzzie was elected, and it is gone forever.

Democrats will HATE this...because it HELPS Trump. They CANNOT get by that for any reason.

Even if it helps them. Remember when @gatorspeed claimed 'people were hurting' cause stocks had dropped 2k? They have gained back over double that. Will likely hit 50K before the end of the year, possibly 60k.

He will say nothing. Trump is out here literally putting money in their back pockets and they slap his hand and tell him to leave them alone as he does.

Spot on....I see it every day. They truly want Trump to FAIL, even with this pharmaceutical deal, even though it would be HUGE to lower medical costs and mostly insurance coverages

I still don't understand how Trump can affect local supply chains...how is he going to make state level insurance and retailers stop gouging consumers?
I think your question is going over my head. Pharmaceuticals are one of the most expensive costs of healthcare...or so I heard on the news this morning.

Very expensive. Pharmaceutical companies frequently charge 3 to 4 times more for the same drugs in America that they do in other countries because the insurance companies will pay for it because they’re all part of the same complex one hand rubs the other medical system.

What he did today was a pretty huge deal. We’ll see if it has effect.

For years, pharmaceutical companies have gotten rich in the United States, which is funded research for the rest of the world while the rest of the world has cheaper healthcare

Yet another area in which the United States was getting screwed

This is EXACTLY why this is so important. AND...we are supplementing the rest of the world's drugs because we pay 8-10 times more for these drugs than anyone else. I am waiting to see how big pharma responds. Thune already is throwing small road blocks...but I do not think they can stand up to Trump, and they all know it. We are behind TRUMP:...not the republican party.

Heard a stat that we have like 5% of the world's population but pay 75% of the phama R&D costs?

Crazy.

On it's face, I hate this. It's regulation akin to price controls, and it will have an effect on R&D budgets. Zooming out, unless we want to go full gonzo on regulating drug supply by having the gov't buy in bulk (making many drugs unavailable), I don't see how we change this.

Trump 1.0 tried this and was shut down by the courts, arguing that he was usurping Congressional authority. Congress doesn't want to do this as they get tons of lobbying money from the industry, but I'm not sure Pharma doesn't see this as a net positive in the long run.

But the best part is the middle man is being cut out.

At worst..it will show who is standing in the way politically. I hope this happens, but even some victory is a victory...just like tariffs.

Supposedly, its the pharma middleman where most of the gouging takes place. I heard on the radio that some Pharmaceutical companies have a system in place wherein you can buy directly from them for much much cheaper.

I think it's a variety of things all adding up to us getting hosed.

In 1900, doctors, lawyers and finish carpenters were all paid about the same for their work/services.
So what happened?

The AMA is now the strongest monopoly union in existent, next to the ABA anyway.
They are the ones that should be forced into wearing a mask when they post your billing.
The Pharm's ripoff boys have nothing on them, not even close...

“In 1900, medicine was largely focused on treating symptoms rather than understanding the root causes of illnesses, and many treatments were ineffective or even harmful. Medical practices were often based on humoral theory, which focused on balancing bodily fluids, and relied on methods like bloodletting and blistering. While advances were being made, particularly in understanding and combating infectious diseases, many remained vulnerable to conditions like typhoid, smallpox, and diphtheria.”

2 months ago my son got his appendix out laparoscopically and ended up with two small incisions and was playing college lacrosse 4 weeks post op.

Buddy of mine was walking on a replaced hip 1 day after surgery.

In 1900 bloodletting was a thing but finish carpenters were magicians. Today it’s impossible to find a craftsman in that trade.

I think that happened too.

My dad was a medical doc. I asked him what his secret was, he was so booked he had to stop taking new patients. He said, "listen to the patient, they'll tell you 99% of what their problems are. At that point, it's simply text book medicine. Nobody listens anymore".
