This combine with being die hard in your beliefs from supporting a Democratic Party that hasn’t existed in decades, but refusing to accept how far they have liberalized can make people surprisingly dedicated and unwavering to a party that could care less about them anymore.
I remember having a conversation when I was a little kid with my dad who was gonna vote for Jimmy Carter over Ronald Reagan. My dad was very conservative, but he was a Dixiecrat and just couldn’t force himself to vote for Reagan, even though Carter had destroyed our economy. I was probably like seven at the time so it was an interesting conversation, but I’ve never forgotten it.
Gotta pay attention, sometimes the party that you identified with is not the real party anymore. Sometimes you move away from the party but more often the party moves away from you.
Politicians and political parties will quickly and easily change their beliefs to stay in power. And we’ll take advantage of whatever they can to get votes and stay in power.
That’s what makes Trump so great, he is who he is. That’s never gonna change. Thankfully I like who he is.
