This Bulls team appears to have pretty fast and shifty RBs, receivers that can go up and make the tough catches, DBs that have a nose for interceptions and a QB that has shown he can win the big games on a national stage.

USF's QB led his team to a win over # 8 Oklahoma last season and an appearance in the Big 12 championship game.

USF Bulls: 31.5 points a game, 352 yards a game and +2 in turnovers

Gators: 22.5 points a game , 365 yards a game and -1 in turnovers

Playing against MEAC/HBCU school Howard isn't a real gauge at all. Just like LSU playing SWAC/HCBU Southern University last week.

In some ways USF looks like one of the worst defenses in all of FBS. As far as offense they were behind 35-0 mid 2Q against BYU before they really did anything. Not sure if the offense was 1st game jitters or they are not that good.

They even have some Missouri transfer on defense talking mess to the press about how nice is it was to beat the Gators in the Swamp.

This is one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't games. If the Gators win in a blowout, people will say that's what was supposed to happen. If they win, say 27-17, people will be complaining that we were terrible and didn't play well. I just want to see AR make good decisions and accurate throws and I want to see receivers getting open.

I think we blow them out most likely and wouldn't be surprised if Etienne and company take a couple of carries for long TDs. If it was my choice though I would rather have a USF that was able to hang in there some and make Richardson have to pass under duress a little for the experience. I doubt we get too much of that though.

What an odd thing to hope for. You want us to struggle against a bad USF team so that AR gets more reps under duress?

You realize that's an absurd dichotomy, right?

This is our first chance of the season to slow the game down for him and work through progressions, build his confidence, do the things we traditionally do in the first two weeks of the season that we didn't have this year.

And get our backups time. Also a big deal in case we do need to sit AR or he gets injured.

Wanting a close game though? I don't know if I can roll my eyes anymore than I just did.

Not close enough to give USF a chance but at least their defense giving some resistance where he can get some quality reps. Hitting open first looks most of the game wouldn't help much going into the Tenn game. We probably would just hear all the big talk again. Tennessee doesn't have the defense Georgia and A&M have but they are a decent SEC defense this year it appears.

This game will NOT help us at all prepare or be ready for Tennessee.
Geez dude, it's the next game on the schedule. The sky isn't falling AND new coach, new staff, rebuilding, terrible last year, not great depth, new QB, lots and lots of new...any of that seem familiar? Holy sh*t Tebow Time needs a drink. We're 2 games in brother.

My main worry is that teams will learn from KY how to completely slam the door shut on Richardson. USF might not be able to pull it off but a lot of our schedule has the ability.

That is why I am hoping S FL can put up a little resistance on defense. To help AR to be calmer in those situations. I watched that Pitt and Tenn game and I would say that defense looks to be better than last season. They had some DEs and edge rushers creating a lot of pressure and one of their LBs looked pretty good also.

I get what you're saying in theorem but....the problem is that if we struggle at all, really, with this very bad USF team, then we shouldn't be all that interested in how the team learns from it....we have serious issues if that's the case.

USF is bad.

Unbelievable

Jordan Rogers is a good commentator. It's like we are playing AR15 safe these last two games to keep him from getting injured. We have 4 capable RB's and a freak running QB and we are not mixing it up and letting AR do his thing. Too much simple passing plays.

We'll probably beat these USF stiffs but this season is going to be ugly unless Richardson lights things up.
