In the combat arms jobs officers are pretty naive until they make Captain and most are about to become a Major when they finally have their crap together. It was odd the difference in being in Germany during the cold war and Korea after that though. In Germany the Captains relied on the First Sergeants mostly for direction while in Korea it seemed to be forced on the Captains to mostly make the decisions themselves. It led to some odd things at times in Korea.

In the corps new 2nd lts have to check in with the sgtmaj every duty day. They say it's to familiarize themselves with senior enlisted staff but we all know it's to make sure they didn't get lost between the BOQ and the company area, as it is holy writ that boot lts can't find their own ass with both hands, GPS and a flashlight.

The uni-party crooks are trying to start WW3 apparently before Trump takes office or at minimum hoping Russia strikes back hard enough that they think they can force Trump's hand on giving Ukraine a lot more military aid. I am curious to see how naive Zelensky is and if he starts using that to bomb inside of Russia. The response from Russia on Ukraine will be really bad I think. I bet our people planted in Ukraine to help their military will be taken out quickly also in Russia's response.

If I’m Trump I’m sending threats to Ukraine on the back channels. Better not even think of using those long range. Tell them to start thinking about a team to negotiate peace.

Don’t know if they can sustain it, But as a product of the Cold War generation I’m enjoying watching Ukraine stand up to Russia like they have for over two years.

But when I posted this, I was hoping it would turn into something like Afghanistan for them, which, in some ways it has, but it is becoming dangerous in terms of potential escalation

Was hoping this would turn into a second Afghanistan for Russia, and considering their borrowing troops from North Korea and supplies from North Korea, and some ways it has. But the degree of escalation here is dangerous, and the war needs to end.

I wonder in there meeting if Trump asked him to do this to put pressure on Russia for peace? I doubt Joe would actually do something to help and not hurt...but who knows?

Russia won't be giving up Donbass no matter what Trump or anyone else says. Our crooked CIA to make people a bunch of money way overplayed Ukraines hand here shelling that pro-Russia area like that in 2014 onward.

Trump wants an end to this. I heard a 4 star this morning say that Putin will NOT negotiate a peace. I think a BUNCH is going on behind the scene here. Ukraine has lost 50K people...Russia 100K.
