UF-fsu game set for 7:30 PM

UFs chances of winning just went up and FSU is starting Sean Macquire against us. Wait until he sees our defense with the pass rush and DBs. He's going to make a few turnovers.

Great! Taylor will be able to take Candy out for a nice dinner and a few COCKtails and then come home and watch it in bed:))))

Dayum it would be nice to make night time games in the Swamp meaningful again!

I agree. I expect at least 2 from Maguire and 2 from Harris. IMO, Cook will be the deciding factor in this game. If he's allowed to run wild, FSU wins. If UF can stack the box and still keep our inconsistent receivers in check, the game goes to UF.
UFs defense is better than FSUs. Maguire also isn't mobile. I see more TOs from Maguire than Harris. It's gonna be more of a wake up call when Maguire sees a defense like UFs. I don't think he's ready for UFs defense or the atmosphere or environment he's gonna be facing. He didn't fare well against Clemson's defense and he didn't put much of any points on the board outside of Cooks TD run. We will see.

I'm more concerned about not being able to run for 1 yard when needed more than Maguire 's poor play.

UF is legit #1 defense in nation, but FSU will be the best offense/team they have seen. UF should have more losses but inept opposing offense after inept opposing offense have kept the W's coming in the weakest SECeast we have seen in decades.

UF wins IMO.

FSU doesn't have the best offense UF has seen. UF might have the most pedestrian offense FSU has seen..........but that's beside the point. :p FSU has Cook and the 7 dwarfs. If UF can avoid mental meltdowns like the did against USCe, not worried about the passing game at all. Jim Dumbass will be running his usual swing passes and WR screens. Keep those in check and avoid the aforementioned retardedness out of play and shut down Cook..........it will be a long evening for the nulls on offense.

FSU didn't buy their full allotment of tickets to the game. Season ticket holders just got an email saying they're eligible to buy them.

Dear Gator Booster/Season Ticket Holder,

Florida State returned some of their allotment of tickets to us, so here's your chance as a Gator Season Ticket Holder to purchase additional seats for the FSU game on Saturday, Nov. 28th. FSU's offense is Dalvin Cook, FSU relies on Cook more than any other single player on any other prominent team I can think of, except maybe Fournette/LSU. The "weakest SEC East in decades" last place team gave the ACC division leader NC Tar Heels their only loss this season, keep that in mind. The most important match up of this game for UF is our defensive front seven vs. FSU's OL, we have to dominate here and not let Cook lose for more than one big run.. I believe we'll be able to run the ball successfully just like we did against UGA. I see UF winning a close game

FYI Ole Miss, Tennessee and LSU all average more points per game than FSUs offense.

The SEC east is so weak that South Carolina beat the 2nd best team in the ACC in UNC.

The SEC East is weak. It is comparable to the ACC Coastal. That is the Division where FSU and Clemson reside. The ACC Atlantic is really bad.

I agree but it all comes down to execution. If we execute then we win. ..I think that we are a better team but we need to play better.

By that standard last year's Va Tech was better than Ohio State then, right?

Who'd win if USCjr faced UNC tomorrow?
Ohio State went on and won their conference and demolished everybody in their way. UNC hasn't even won their conference yet. I'll give credit to UNC for their winning streak, etc but my god look at their schedule. They haven't beaten a team with a pulse yet. I guess their win at Pitt is a decent win. I don't see how they get into a playoff until quite a few things fall their way that are out of there control. They aren't in a position IMO where they control their own destiny for example. They need some undefeated teams and 1 loss teams to go down still.

The same could have been said (and was) about Ohio St at this point in the season. They had one quality win and a bad loss.

Navy (6-5)
Va Tech (7-6) L
Kent St (2-8)
Cinn (9-4)
Maryland (7-6)
Rutgers (8-5)
Penn St (7-6)
Ill (6-7)
Mich St (11-2) Quality Win
Minn (8-5)
Ind (4-8)
Mich (5-7)

Fortunately, they had an opportunity to "prove" themselves in the Big 10 title game and playoffs. Them beating Bama really solidified their season. Also, (for both teams) having an early loss is more forgivable/understandable.

Michigan State is a much better quality win than beating Pitt. Ohio State also crushed a pretty good Wisconsin team in the champ game.

UNC isn't mathematically eliminated but they need some things to happen that are out of their control as well. PAC12 with their best team likely to have 2 losses certainly makes things a little interesting and in my mind opens up a spot but that spot may be filled by Notre Dame

I hope Jimbo lets Cook carry the ball a lot this weekend instead of doing the sensible thing and sitting him out for the entire game.

I agree....and Ohio State was 2x the team UNC is, but we really didn't know that until late in the season. Crazier things have happened...UNC could get in or they could blow it against rival NC State. Who knows.

Turnovers and field position will be the key to this game. First team to get a 10 pt lead will win this game.

The NCAA ranks UNC's strength of schedule at #97. Worse than FSU, worse than Duke, worse than most teams. In fact, it is the worst in the ACC.

No way a one loss UNC team gets in. A one loss Big 12 and a one loss Notre Dame team will get the nod over them. Only way for UNC to get in is if two of the power five conference champs has two losses and/or Notre Dame has two losses.

Do overs are rare. This is weak sauce, even for you. UNC lost. Deal with it.

"deal with it?" I'm not a UNC fan. I actually don't even give a fart if they're "in or out", just discussing different scenarios in the spirit of the thread. My comment regarding a "do over" certainly isn't literal. I assume the CFP committee pondered that scenario with OSU regarding Va Tech and came to the unanimous decision that if they were to play again, OSU would be the victor. I imagine the same would be said of UNC and USCjr "if" UNC were to win out and the committee is then forced to consider them as a contender. Also, UNC's SOS will increase once they've played NC State and Clemson. Sagarin has their SOS currently at 73, FSU's at 53 (and UF's at 31)....all of them will be higher considering their end-of-season opponents.

Make sense?

Perhaps. It sounded to me like you were making excuses to try and pump UNC up. But if that is not what you were doing, then that is fine.

Goodness no. UNC has played well, but much like Baylor's first 2/3 of their schedule, it's been against no one. It's up to UNC to play out the remainder of their schedule and win. "IF" they win out, then they should get a 2nd look, that's all. A lot of moving parts at season's end...exciting for sure.

Everyone watch out for VT this weekend, UNC could very well go down.

Here is my take: We went toe to toe with a Clemson team that has a much better offense than what UF has. We allowed 23 points on the road to a Clemson team that is routinely scoring in the 40s and 50s. So unless we cough up 4 turnovers, then I don't see UF scoring much. If UF gets to 17 points I'd even be surprised. However, we are going to have trouble scoring too. The thing is Dalvin Cook is so good that he could break a 70 yard run at any time. UF may be able to eliminate him completely. I just don't think they will. Fournette still had a good game against UF. I still see Cook being able to pop one or two big runs.

I see UF's defense being stronger in the Pass Rush and in the Secondary than at stopping the run. Not that they are bad at stopping the run, but they are better in those other areas I mentioned.

I see this game being a 14-10 or 17-14 type of game regardless of who wins.
