You are exactly right. Wasn't it Caldwell's reception for a TD that was called back for a phantom block in the back? They still talk about that game to this day. 99%Of them forget we scored twice.

They also forget that the catch was made on 2nd down. Like Earnest Graham couldn't have ran it in on two plays if he had his number called.

yea it was Caldwell in the middle of the endzone. They called like an illegal formation or something ridiculous

Ineligible receiver down field. Just YouTubed that drive. All linemen were at or behind the LOS. It looked like the TE could have been mistaken for the ineligible receiver. That play should have ended the game.

But I'm glad it didn't. Killed more time off the clock. UT had an Olympic runner on that team. Leonard Scott. I didn't want him to have time for a trick play. Low and behold we kick off straight to him. I held my breath until I saw him tackled.

You really got that from those big cushions our WRs were getting in that game? He may end up being real good but that game certainly doesn't tell us much imo.

Like I said. It reminded me of the 2000 MTSU game. MTSU gave huge cushions and were extremely undermanned compared to our athletes.

I'm not exactly saying Will is the next Rex.

I'm saying Teron didn't play bad, at all. Will Just showed more of the" it" factor, similar to the 2000 game of Rex/ Jesse.

I don't think Will showed more of an 'it' factor, unless the 'it' was just raw talent. He's simply way more talented than Harris, at least when throwing. And by that I mean release, arm strength, etc. But we already knew that. We'll find out the rest in the next couple weeks.

My three least favorite Gator QB's: Kyle Morris - Doug Johnson - Rex Gross-man.
All three of them had some football talent, but I just never liked them as people...

Plus, we were only behind by three points. Even if we don't score on second or third down, we kick and go to OT.

So, it was not because of Grier being outplayed this offseason? It was because Treon "started quite a few games last year and also because we don't know much about our ol..."?

That seems to be a bit of a spin. If Grier was ready for prime time he would have been the better QB with the extra reps this past Spring. Instead, Treon was not only able to overcome his absence in the Spring, but surpass Grier during Fall camp. If Grier cannot separate then it looks like Treon could be your qb for the next few years. There is a gap of quality qb recruits last year and so far for '16's class, and it virtually assures the winner of this qb battle will be the Gator qb for years to come unless injury or eligibility issues arise.

What is your insight this week?

When was the last time any of our QB's were making those throws against any team or any defense?

I didnt see many real good throws in that game mostly easy stuff. Not just trying to be a downer but I don't think it shows us much at all. If it looks as good against ECU I will start becoming more of a believer.

There's about 3 throws that Grier made that were really good. The one on the sideline was one, the TD to Lewis over the middle (his first one) and the ball that Fulwood dropped. I also liked his ball to D rob before the half out of the 2 minute because of how fast he knew what he wanted and how accurate he threw it before D Rob even got out of his break putting it on his back shoulder to where it couldn't be tipped or knocked back to the DB if not caught. Grier excites me and should excite our fanbase so far

The pass to Lewis in the 2 min drill was the best IMO. One because the defense looked like they were in 2 high presnap and thenn the safety dropped into a robber type technique. We had that side overloaded and he read it instantly and hit Lewis down the seam.

Grier can really throw the ball, accurately, with zip and he does it on time...no hesitation. It's been a long time since I've seen a UF QB throw the ball like him. I'm excited as hell to see him on the field again. I wish that he was the outright starter...hope he continues to play like he did last week.He looked awfully good.

I think he will only get better in the offense and it's because of the system, the RB's will carry things for us to help him out and the TE's ESPECIALLY Mcgee for us... He's an NFL TE

No doubt the scheme is something to be really excited about. Making the most out of what you have and keeping the defense guessing at what's coming at them.
