He still checks in. Was here this morning. Not sure why he doesn't post. His cross-America trip is interesting to hear.
I’m not posting as often after my stating my position on the 2024 nominee and taking blowback which is okay - I’m a grownup - but the personal stuff is going to bring on the pushback. I have visited this site for YEARS when there was a fun crew on here who are no longer participating.
Plus I got banned for two weeks by another mod on the football board and I still don’t know what I did.
The group on here has shrunk and seems to prefer being an echo chamber.
I’ll continue to visit occasionally unless I’m banned again.

The crew you are talking about left when Muschamp was still coach..........and McElwain didn't bring them back either. That was 10 years ago.

My Dad also fought in Korea. Was a forward observer. As a kid, we called them bad dreams...but it was PTSD for sure. He fought in many hill battles, and once was over run by Chinese SF. Made E8 in 2 1/2 years. Do not really understand how, because he did not talk very much about that time in his lifeHe still had nightmares about them (the women) at 91 years old. When dad was in the hospital a couple of weeks before he died, he rolled out of bed (not a good fall for an old man), I asked what happened. He told me he dreamed the Chinese were shelling his bunker. He never talked about the war at all. All he really said is that he got a case of booze allotment for being company commander (he was only a Lt but all of his superiors were killed so he got promoted to the top). He would trade a bottle or two of liquor for a case of chickens. He said because of that he ate pretty good. He never talked about specifics of the war, other than that and butt ugly Korean women.
My father was also in Korea. He met McArthur during that war.
There's a joke soldiers in Korean used to tell...How do you know you've been in Korea too long?
From my friends who are Korean or have dated Korean women, they all say the same thing - Korean chicks are crazy ...

I've been twice on business. Security is rather uptight and it's a Republic insofar as they vote for people who hold an office but it's as feudal as any modern society that I've ever witnessed. They're super efficient, however.
The joke, fair or not, is that you've been in Korea too long if the air stops stinking and the women look good.
FWIW I was never in Korea "too long" but there are beautiful women about. The food I ate, in order to not offend, would make a buzzard vomit.
The few Korean chicks I know who dated my friends were very hot, loved sex and were good cooks, but they were also batshit crazy ...

You can tell how good a MASH episode will be based on which actors are still in the series.

If none of them are in the episode, change the channel as fast as you can. Unless you want to hear the characters tell you that North Korea was the victim, South Korea the villians, and the United States were morons.
We have a very large Asian community here where I live. I have MANY Asian friends, large majority female. The Korean women are just HARD. GHard nosed and mean. Filipinos are VERY patriotic, and appreciate the opportunity to live here. All are beautiful...EXCEPT the Korean women....at least I do not know any pretty ones.

I can see it, I love MASH, but the last few seasons are unwatchable. Yes, Hawkeye, war is bad and people die. We get it.

For the record, I like you. You've got a good troll game, and I respect the way you handle these guys who come after you. We certainly don't agree a whole lot on our political views, but we share the same faith and work in the same industry, so I'm cool with you. I just have to LOL at how some posters on this board get so triggered by what you post.
One thing I would suggest is that this board have a dedicated and pinned Political Thread like we have on the UK board. There certainly pros and cons to having a dedicated thread versus what we have on this board. It would take fairly assertive and proactive moderators as well as committed posters to respect the unwritten rules and keep politics out of other threads.
That would then allow people to post threads about favorite rocks bands, movies, stock advice, etc. I tried that a few times in the past and it was obvious it's wasn't going to work with the multiple political threads that get started on this board.
Back to your comments about viewpoint diversity...... All I can say is that Biden and the Democrats have provided plenty of ammunition for me and others think like me to ridicule and condemn what they do. I'm sorry if that's a problem, but I would suggest that anyone seeking to defend Biden should focus on making better arguments. Simply condemning Trump at this point is so incredibly weak. I would also suggest that Trump supporters not engage in hero worship and instead focus on conservative ideals of limited and accountable government that lives and spends within its means. As a comparison, the UK is similarly skewed to the right - I would say it's at least 80% conservative.

I've honestly never seen anyone get triggered by what @BSC911 posts. Maybe my definition of 'triggered' is different than yours.
The only troll here that I think gets taken too seriously is @kalimgoodman. He always tries to change the subject when it's bad for the left, and he always tricks a few posters into going along with him. Everyone needs to get better about holding his feet to the fire and making him stay on topic.
And a pinned politics thread would never work. Just start a new thread on a different topic if you want. If it doesn't get replies then that's on the OP. But can't complain about us only discussing politics if no one offers any other topics.
Koreans have fought for eons to overcome how they’re seen by others in Asia. They share some characteristics with the Chinese such as an overall larger body stature (height especially) but have been historically subjugated by China.
They are mocked - and were the object of ridicule by the Japanese, who prior to (and still to some degree) WWII considered themselves superior to everyone else. The women were used as “comfort” women during the occupation.
I think the hard reputation the women do tend to have now is an acquired survival mechanism.

It’s not 80% conservative, it’s now 99% since Kaliman, who never flames anyone, gets a thread locked just because Ghost didn’t like it. and RGG is no longer allowed to link antiTrump articles. Hell, the God Bless President Biden is the greatest troll thread of all time and it’s never been locked. As I said, without alternative viewpoints and links being allowed, it’s just a circle jerk. We used to have good discussions in here before the Ghost mob took over. They can have this Board, it just bores me now.
And FTR, it’s not the antiBiden posts that bother me, that’s to be expected, but the lame flames after someone posts anything against their Messiah Trump, or says Trump shouldn’t run again, or that vaccines work, or that all Dems aren’t evil devil worshipers. Like Capt. Ron said above, most of these Trumpers just don’t want to hear anything that goes against their Trumper mission. They truly are a danger to America, not just this Board.

Kalim's thread was locked because 3 people pointed out that he admitted to posting it to troll "frauds". I left it up to see if it would improve but it just devolved so I locked it. It's the only thread I've ever locked here and I hope to not have to again.
And for the 10th freaking time, RGG was asked to stop spamming the board with full long cat articles and to instead post links. Has he done that? No, he just stopped posting instead of posting links. Playing martyr by taking his ball and going home is on him.

Well, I think you are wrong, since dozens of other troll threads never get locked. And I don’t see what’s wrong with posting articles. Let’s face it, most people won’t click on links (myself included) and instead just see who it’s from and just dismiss it as fake news. I didn’t even read most of them, but I did find some interesting. And who was it hurting, other than the same 3 guys that do all the reporting to mods any time they get their feelings hurt.
But that’s your right, but the result is that we now have ZERO threads from non Trumpers. Is that a better alternative? And that is why this board no longer interests me.
PS. You were right, I should have said “articles” instead of “links”, but the result is the same. I dont see why anyone should care if articles are posted. It doesn’t bother me when the other side does it. I don’t think it’s “spam” when it relates to a current topic. We just disagree about that
Well, I have explained about the articles a number of times now. I try to get to articles as a mod and links are much easier to navigate to get the gist. You may not get it, but the articles are clutter when they are more than a few paragraphs. That said, everyone else had no problem complying except for RGG, who left instead of posting links.
I'd prefer an active board with substantive convo from everyone.
I have also asked others to alert me to perceived troll threads, since I don't get to every thing. I tend to be responsive. Send me a link to the problematic posts / threads.
As for spam, that to me is several new threads on the same topic, current or otherwise.
And of the 3 who reported the troll, I'd never heard from 2 of them before.
Not sure what you expect, I do this out of the goodness of my heart. The next guy could be worse ...

Nothing wrong with posting links to articles, with selected excerpts included for emphasis. Posting an entire 1000-word article is just poor etiquette. I put RGG on ignore because his MO on this board is so off-putting to me.
Not to mention his sources are Salon, Mother Jones, Politifact, NY Times, WaPo, Vogue, HuffPo, and other sources of ill repute. AND THAT IS WHEN HE GIVES THEM CREDIT! 😂
So I went back and re-read the first page of this thread. We were actually having a decent conversation for a change. About 10 posters on both sides of the isles, including a few who rarely post here, chimed in with their thoughts on what's good and bad on the board. No bickering, no trolling, no arguments.
Then you left this post at the start of the 2nd page, and for the next 3 pages you have been complaining about all the problems on the board, and how everyone needs to change their behavior to fit how you want the board to run. All the while name-calling, which was half the reason for this thread.
It gets old. No well-adjusted adult should need to be the center of attention like this.
I agree with all of this, however I also believe other than Japan, most Asian women and men have had it very hard the past 100 years...until recently
