Starting with last night, UT hitting their customary weak November slate. That, coupled with a matchup against a mediocre Bowl opponent, should easily have them in contention for another offseason championship.

You need to come over to Volchat. The hype machine barely slows down with losses any more.

I already mentioned in another thread, it's rather quite telling between the two fanbases. UGLY wants to fire Mark Richt already and he will end up 9-3 or 8-4 at worst this season. UT should win out and end up 8-4 but the UcheaT fans want to build a golden statue of butch Dooley. Different expectations.

We thought that the Tennessee fans were inoculated from the dreaded Volshiemers virus after the Fulmer version of the disease was eradicated. But no. The Butch Jones strain is a variation of the sickness that will be infecting a Tennessee fan near you.

It is all rooted in the inbreeding.

From Vol boards

Butch has put back to back top 5 recruiting classes together, and for most of the game whipped their butts in their own stadium. I for see it playing out the opposite way next year. We will beat Florida by 2 or more scores. We should be positioned to win the East right now, not Florida.

The 4th and 14 lost us the East
It's obvious that is and Florida are the best teams in the East hands down. Barring anything ridiculous, they are finishing 7-1 in the SEC and we're finishing 5-3. A win there, and both are 6-2, everyone else worse and we win the h2h tiebreaker. Effing eff. That play bites harder in retrospect.

On the bright side, this really is a good team.

FTR, it was 4th and 17

I see the arkansas game as our only true lose....we got muscled that game. We were up 14 with the kick off return in mind otherwise we got plain outplayed.

Should be 7-1 judging just from play on the field in my opinion. Played better than florida, oklahoma, and the oh so great Alabama ( sarcasm )

I don't think we lose to Arkansas if we win the Florida game. That game deflated the team and the fans. The Florida loss was crushing and the effects are still being felt

and

If we beat Oklahoma then we beat Florida and Arkansas maybe Bama.

LOL, ain't that the dang truth. Every year they become the best team in the country in November and yell from the treetops how they're gonna rip UF a new one next year. Blah blah blah blah blah.

Thought the same thing watching the SEC network. No one wants to play UT in November lol!

This is not a recent development. All four years of Peyton Manning we were told how lucky we were that we played them in September instead of November

They are a dumpster fire. Their fans are drunken inbreeding hobos. Their head coach can't count to 4 and doesn't know left from right. They get no respect from me and I only can laugh harder each year as they try to convince themselves that they didn't REALLY lose any football games the past year. They're the greatest undefeated 4 loss team in the country right now according to their fan base. Might as well start printing up the national championship tshirts for them now.

Notice how this hype machine always hypes up AFTER the 3rd Saturday (occasionally 4th) in October?

I hope Missouri kick them square in the nUTs.

Sadly, most of the rest of The SEC East is trash at this point this year. The Lattimore/Clowney/Jeffrey days are behind USC and they are so bad this year they sent Spurrier into early retirement. Vandy has resorted to becoming traditional Vandy again. Missou lost all it's offensive players from 2 short seasons ago and couldn't score against an ACC middle of the pack team at this point with their freshman QB. Kentucky played it's best ball in the first part of the season when they believed their own hype train about beating Florida finally and competing for The SEC East. Once that is past, and the losses keep accumulating, they give up, as is traditional this time of year in Kentucky, and become lemmings in their final football games of the year. Georgia's fans are eating themselves alive right now after another guaranteed national title has been ripped away from them not from those teams that beat them, but from their own head coaches who are intentionally trying to make them lose games. Apparently. I dunno, you'd have to talk to Georgia fans to have that rationale explained to you, if nothing else, Mark Richt is a "nice guy" at any rate. That leaves Florida who has had it's ups and downs this year, and dumpster fire Tennessee, who are very heavily drinking the 190 proof Koolaid this time of year. At this point, convinced that all their losses in the year weren't really losses but just scoring errors, they fully believe they are on their way to the national championship and that their SEC title rings have already been ordered. This is fundamentally reinforced by the fact that Tennessee fans, like their head coach, cannot count to 5, so a 4-4 record that they currently have looks no different to them than an 8-0 record, so as far as they're concerned, they're unbeaten and all ready to help Butch Dooley lay some more bricks around Knoxville.

Generally once teams in the East lose the hype machine from the preseason and realize that winning the east is out of their grasp, they give up a little bit and are much easier to beat. Except for Tennessee which just doesn't know any better and is fully convinced that learning to read is just an optional extracurricular activity you can choose to study while in college, though only for nerds that cannot handle their white lightning.

So what we end up with is a bunch of teams that have nothing left really to play for, Florida which DOES have The SEC East basically in it's back pocket and a coach on the rise, and then Tennessee which lives in la la land and just added another couch to it's bonfire in the middle of Peyton Pass.

Not that it would matter given how putrid their offense has been all season, but now Mauk has been suspended for remainder of Mizzou's season......just in time for the Vol's November gauntlet.

So hilarious! This is how they deal with football every year to survive not killing each other.

A buddy of mine, who is a Tennessee fans wrote this;

I thought 2001 proved that the Volsheimers folks had been correct all along

I found it funny, if still a bit painful. :golfclap:

Apparently, the Vol Navy has to drink enough shine to keep their boats afloat... ;)

Thanks MJW, I quickly stole that GREAT pic from you, and used it for a post at Vols-Chat...

~ Gators head coach Jim McElwain can become the third coach in SEC history to lead his team to the SEC Championship Game in his first season if Florida wins, joining LSU's Les Miles (2005) and Auburn's Gus Malzahn (2013). And McElwain also has a chance to match former HBC Steve Spurrier (1990) for most SEC wins in his 1st season (6).

Something Old... o_O
~ RB Kelvin Taylor's
8 rushing TD's in SEC play are the most by a Gator RB since Fred Taylor, Kelvin's father, had 9 in 1997. Kelvin will likely exceed the 9 before season's end.

Something New... o_O
~ Gators WR Antonio Callaway and Alabama's Calvin Ridley are the only 2 freshmen FBS receivers with at least 2 games of 110 yards receiving with at least 1 TD.
Callaway - 8 Gms, 19 rec, 418 yd's, 22.0 ypr, 3 TD's, 66 Long, 52.2 yd's/gm, (3 100+ yd games).

Something Borrowed.... o_O
UF lost 5 Star WR Ermon Lane to an FSU flip, and only got 4 star WR Antonio Callaway on a flip from Miami to replace him. But who really got the best end on that deal?

* Callaway has appeared almost weekly on SportsCenter, with notable highlights including a one-handed, 34-yard catch at Kentucky and a thrilling 63-yard TD dash to upset Tennessee. :p He added a 72 yard punt return TD and another nifty, juggling one-handed snag @ LSU. And then, last Saturday, he showcased his athleticism again, snatching an off-balance, sideline tiptoeing, 66-yard TD against the Dawgs. Antonio is fast becoming the best Fr WR in Gator (WR-U) football history.
05
-- Callaway ranks7th nationally in yd's/rec (22.0 ypr),which is tops among all freshmen, while adding a punt return TD and a 13.7 yard punt return average, too. Callaway came to Florida as yet another rather underrated (clueless rivals) 4-star recruit. o_O

Something Orange... :)
~ WR/ST's Chris Thompson has never done squat at UF so far, (a claim from the ignorant). Except that Mc calls Chris the best cover man on the Gator's ST's, and he credits him with helping the Gator punter (Townsend) have the best NET punting yards in the SEC, by already being there when the ball comes down. That's 4.35/40speed in action for ya. And then there's this: Eight-year-old Jay Ryon made headlines earlier this season when he made a sign that said, "Dear Gators, I'm beating cancer, please beat Ole Miss!" A photo of Jay holding the sign went viral on the Internet and on Thursday Jay and his father, Nick Ryon, were on "SportsCenter" to talk about their trip to Gainesville this weekend through the Make-A-Wish America foundation. The Ryons live in Sorrento in Central Florida and during Florida's bye week, WR Chris Thompson visited the family. So he's more than 'just' a football player.

And Something Blue...
~ Ole Hot-Grease (4 Int's, for 152 yds is 5th in the Nation) is just a lot of media show, but he has no real value to the Gator Team, right? "If I get a ball thrown on me in practice, he’s livid. He sees more in me than I probably see in myself. He just wants the best for me.'' -- Soph. CB Jalen Tabor on his teammate Vernon Hargreaves III.Only 6 players in the country have more career Int's than Hargreaves (10). His 35 career passes defended are tied for 8th Nationally. But what sticks out to DC Collins is the way Hargreaves studies and takes notes while consistently being one of the 1st players to arrive for meetings or film study.
~ The Gators own a plus-13 turnover margin, which leads the SEC and is 2nd in the country behind 2nd tier AAC Conf. D1 Houston's (plus-15).
=============

It's only an exhibition game, but the Gator's gave a nice preview of 2015-16 with an 89 - 42 'Frantic' win over Palm Beach Atlantic. The B-Ball Gator's forced 30 turnovers, let fly 27 shots from beyond the 3-point arc and had 5 players reach double-figure scoring. While still a work in progress on offense, they do have some real talent.

On a side note, I will say if there's one team that's better than their record indicates, it's UT.

They really are. OU loss was a fluke, they outplayed us if we're being honest, and they likewise outplayed Bama for like 3/4th's of that game. They have a lot of young talent on that team. Wouldn't surprise me if that's our toughest game next year. Good thing is that Butch is average to slightly above average, so we'll have the coaching edge.
