Surprised we haven't lost any players of significance to the portal. Other teams are faring much worse. Still a long way to go before the portal closes...

Clemson insider attempted to break this story but was taken down.
Yeah the story I read was definitely from a clemson site, he was referred to as "Younger brother of former Clemson star"
How anyone can look at this train wreck of a season and have a problem with mertz is beyond me. If you want td-to-interception ratio, how does 20 to 3 grab you?
They would have to admit they were wrong, and we know that aint happening. Mertz was the lone bright spot. How anyone can look at this train wreck of a season and have a problem with mertz is beyond me. If you want td-to-interception ratio, how does 20 to 3 grab you?
I want to make sure I understand. You think Napier intentionally set it up so Brown would be sacked 6 times, have -5 yards rushing, and only complete 9 passes just so he would look right about starting Mertz all season? Is that your assertion?QB-pp Graham Mertz is returning as a rsSr in 2024, (due to a lack of any NFL interest).
2023 - 8.1 Yds/Pass, 1.8 TD's/Gm, 2.8 Sacks/Gm (31), with a 5-6 W/L record. So Yeep-ppeeee....
Career - 63.7% for 8,308 yds, 7.3 Ave, 58 TD, 29 Ints (a 2 to 1 ratio), with 80 Sacks.
Since they want to make a Mertz/Tebow comparison on completions, how about this:
Tebow's UF career had 88 TD passes to 16 Ints, for a 5.5 to 1 Ratio....
As the player/recruit bail-outs continue....
WR Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman joins WR Caleb Douglas to enter the transfer portal.
And it's JMOHO that CBN set Max up to fail with his game plays and play calling vs the criminoles, in order to prop up his 2nd xfer QB for the coming season. Makes me wonder if CBN is already working his exit strategy set up:
6-7 + 3-30 > 5-7 >> 4-8 >>> with a gigantic fired platinum parachute buy-out,,, while joining the previous 3 fired HC's in laughing all the way to the bank....
Looks to me like the Gator fan base is no longer getting what it pays for from Socialist-U....
Get Woke >>> Go Broke
Before anyone gets their panties in a wad just remember, this is nothing but a long time Gator fans speculations and opinions (frustrations). Everyone else if free to have their own speculations and opinions, agree or disagree or mix them up to suit yourself....
Comparing Mertz to Tebow and Trask? Tebow and Trask had solid O lines as well as having Percy, Rainey, Demps, along with loads of talent. Trask had Grimes, Toney, Pitts along with Pierce and Malik Davis. When about half of your passes are thrown to receivers that are behind the LOS, you aren't going to throw as many Ints. Leading to a 5-6 W/L record, it doesn't grab me at all, it instead kicks me in my fan nutts....
Tebow throws 32 TD's while running for 23 more TD's in a season (55 TD's).
Trask threw for 4,283 with 43 TD''s to 8 Ints in just his Sr season.
So only having 20 passing TD's in a season is an embarrassment for this Gator fan....
Just like it's been a great thing getting rid of that 3rd and Grantham thingy....
Taking 31 sacks in just 11 games grabs you does it? Well, it grabbed Mertz repeatedly.
Is that all on the OL, with 2 OL coaches for the 1st time in UF football history, or does Billy's offensive 'schematic advantage' warm your heart???
But as the last 2 season have already proven, you also aren't going to win many games in the SEC (3-5 + 3-5 = 6-10).
So Mertz had 31 sacks in 11 games so if Max had 6 in one game then he would be on a pace for 50-60 sacks? I agree Max was not prepared for FSU and any other backup wouldnt have been either. Out OL line is terrible so it was a NO win situation. Good luck to the kid to wherever he lands cause he seems smart and hopefully will play well somewhere.
I think we have a much better pass rush than any team you guys faced. The o line was line Swiss cheese for verse and Payton.
Yep - should have gone to a lot of 3 and 1 step drops. Really a concern to me that Napier appears to stick to the game plan at all costs. It was the worst O line performance I remember this season as far as guys literally coming through without hardly being even slowed down at all. I don't understand why he didn't roll the QB out on about all the passing plays once that was apparent.

If they do beat Louisville I am curious to see how that defense would fare against Michigan. Michigan doesn't have a big running threat at QB so maybe they could hang in there. It's hard to picture FSU beating them or Georgia though.

Better than Georgia's? If both Travis and Mertz were healthy for last week's game, the end result would have been something like 38-31 or 45-40.I think we have a much better pass rush than any team you guys faced. The o line was line Swiss cheese for verse and Payton.

I disagree, we haven't let any team score more than 28 all yr. The QB wouldn't change how much we bullied the o line. You would have probably scored 21ish.Better than Georgia's? If both Travis and Mertz were healthy for last week's game, the end result would have been something like 38-31 or 45-40.
Both your DE's are exceptional and the interior is good as well. Line is legit.I disagree, we haven't let any team score more than 28 all yr. The QB wouldn't change how much we bullied the o line. You would have probably scored 21ish.
I do think our pass rush is better than Georgia's overall
Truth is this year's team had no legit OT's - that's a fact. We had guards out there and it's just a mismatch almost every game.Couldn't find the plays for the FSU game yet on my initial search but found the GA ones and this is what happened with Mertz on the 11 plays that would make you shake your head because someone on the O line gave hardly any resistance or a blitzer came through almost untouched.
1. He completed a pass to around the line of scrimmage
2. He burned them with a TD pass
3. He fumbled but we recovered the ball
4. He fumbled and Georgia recovered the ball
5. He was sacked
6. He completed a pass behind the line of scrimmage
7. Incomplete pass
8. Incomplete pass
9. He completed a pass a few yards beyond the line of scrimmage
10. He completed a pass 2 yards past the line of scrimmage on 4th and 3
11. He completed a longer pass to Pearsall about 17 yards past the line of scrimmage
We seriously worked that hard to keep a 3 star that backed off his commitment in play?DL Michai Boireau commits to Florida

The roster management might not have been avoidable but again that's not the biggest short term issue for me.
The challenge I have is that know things, we never adjusted the offensive plays to help out. I mean - play to your strengths is all - it's not rocket surgery lol.
"So here is the sardines and cat litter sandwich the Gators were fed last season: We’re going to change the stadium you love and your team will have its third straight losing record. And they still sold out nine games in two seasons of Napier."Pat Dooley asks some good questions.
