Where I have absolutely zero interest. I have no clue who Alabama plays this year. Have they already played a game? I assume this is opening weekend, but have no idea.

2020 killed any interest I had in the game. Seeing the sport I love and have loved all my life 'go woke' with everyone else over the seasonal flu and playing to empty stadiums just ruined it for me.

So sad, it used to be such a great sport. Ah well, we had a nice run.

To be fair, NIL will likely kill the sport soon anyway. These 'collectives' are basically going to create a massive auction bidding war for the top prospects.

They've found a way to legalize the cheating that was rampant in the 80s and 90s, and turn the amounts paid up tenfold at the same time.

It's still what it's always been to me. Mild entertainment and something to talk about around a bottle of beer with my buddies. Like fishing or hunting, but without the wild game meal afterwards.
The spirited before and after talking is usually better than the actual game.

Because of Socialist-U campus rules, I no longer attend those live victim gatherings. The whole game day cluster is off my list of things to do, and has been for decades...

Last college game (any sport) I attended was back in the middle 1990's....
I don't watch NFL, NBA, MLB, and rarely even the Olympics anymore.
I only watch Gator sports, and even then I don't if I have something better to do at the time.

Life is a do it yourself project that needs the doing.
Sporting events are a waste of otherwise unused time.
Reading a book is time better spent.....

So a few years ago I got into NASCAR, started following Dale Jr pretty closely when he hooked up with Steve LeTarte and finally started winning. Then he went all woke ("My daddy couldn't stand these confederate flags at races!) then the whole Bubba Wallace Talladega bullshit, I had to drop that crap. Then the 2020 season killed Alabama football for me.

I've been lost in translation with college and pro football. I have zero interest in the pros. I miss the good days when Tom Landry was the coach of Dallas and teams were built by the draft. Not that free agency didn't spark some fun, but nowadays you can't get behind the players of the team you root for because they're in one season out the next.

College football is just a sport I will watch but not to the intent I used to have. I lived and breathed Sooner Football, but not so much anymore.

My wife and I went on a date tonight and we discussed how it used to be. The simplicity of life whereas now in the electronic age, Covid age, a demon possessed political arena, a global onslaught to have a one-world government, and it's really hard to get into anything this world has to offer.

I am not near where you are with college football..yet. I think NIL will blow up very soon, and huge changes will come. I may feel differently next year. Free agency destroyed the NFL for me, and if that is allowed to happen in college football(long term) I will be done also.

I'm all for any kids getting paid for sports, after they leave schools on scholarship, or instead of getting a ship to a college. Baseball does it, so why not football? They want to be paid outside of the scholarship gravy trains that they are already given, then let them go straight from HS to the Pros to begin EARNING a living.

I'm opposed to Socialist-U's becoming minor league paid sports businesses, instead of institutions of higher learning with STUDENT/athletes on ships. Their race, creed, skin color, cultural background etc. doesn't mean chit to me.
