The # 113 offense in FBS now

Constant whining about a national offensive ranking, with teams that have little to nothing in common with the SEC/UF, is a fools errand imo.

Moving right along....

Note to Mc-Nuss: (QB coaches and to QB's)

Pass Plays: (especially on the dink & dunk variety)
1. You take the snap (either kind) with both hands.
2. You then hold the ball close to your body with both hands as the play develops.
3. To pass, you release the ball to one hand as the ball comes up and goes back past your ear.
4. The ball then goes down the field without needing the 180 degree turn-around to reorient it for release.

~ IF the QB needs a long wind-up on a long bomb pass play (40+ yds), then the old wind-up and throw can be used as necessary to get the distance, but that is the only time the ball should need a 180 before release.

Why?
1. Secure ball handling (fewer fumbles) prior to the pass.
2. On passes, a much shorter ball path resulting in a much quicker release.
3. Resulting in tighter spirals (accuracy) and more secure handling of the ball in sweaty or rainy conditions.

Similar things occur on 2 handed option run/pass plays. When you need to pull the ball back out of the runners grip, you need both hands on the ball. In a straight hand off on a quick run, one hand is okay.

Can a QB still be successful with a one-handed 'loaf of bread' routine?
Yes, but you're rolling the dice on every play. A quick DE coming around the LT, from behind the QB, can reach out and strip the ball in the above picture very easily. So, why take the constant chance when there's a better way to do things?

Saying 'that's the way that QB's always done it' is really just saying that the coach can't do his job.
That excuse doesn't work at all, IF there really are 'No Excuses' for what happens....
It just seems to me that Franks (and maybe the rest of the Gator QB's) could really benefit from a change in their throwing mechanics, and the sooner the better.

PS

Mc, just in case you've missed this point, great recruiting won't save your job.

Just look at Tennis-sea's Head-BJ as a prime example, per 247:
2018 Currently #8 - incoming
2017 #18 - Fr
2016 #14 - Soph
2015 #4 - Jr
2014 #7 - Sr

His first five classes are currently sitting on a Top 10 average class.
While the Jr/Sr's on the 2017 team average a 5.5 class.

Failing to produce a quality QB is what's killing you at this point.
And that's a real shame considering that you have 10+ HS QB's on the roster that are mostly going to waste due to a lack of coaching and/or use on game days. o_O

Guess what time it is?
No,,, you don't need a watch to check.
It's time for this item to reappear for the moron with tunnel vision...

There once was a goater named dunny,
who was always trying to be funny.
But with his head up his butt,
and a load of beer in his gutt,
when it came to the girls he got nunny...

Welcome back

We are back to # 113 now in total yards/game. Hopefully a coaching change makes this point moot.
